Just listened to 30 hours of red storm audio book , but it'd be much better with DCS all the way through , excellent 👍
I get more excited when a FIXEDIT video notification pops up than any other thing that I watch. Outstanding productions! I subscribe to only a hand full of TH-cam pages and FIXEDIT is hands down, without a doubt, the best by far! Now the waiting starts for another.

@stuartannetts300 They pulled off Band of Brothers & The Pacific. Though different the budget for Game of Thrones grew to be something to behold. It can be done.
@@libertylivesin1776 I'm not saying it can't be done, and I would love it to be so. I would just hate it if a half hearted attempt was made at it and spoiled the images I have in my head. I would argue that none of those series you mentioned has anywhere near the same level of multiple interlinked storylines with such variety of subjects covered. Here's hoping though. 👍
@@libertylivesin1776 They were made in a different time, it couldn't be done today. I can guarantee these four things would happen: (i) the plot would have to move from a theatre focus to a character focus because no board of producers is going to allow a TV series that is not character driven. (ii) the characters will have the be changed for diversity purposes. (iii) the storylines would be condensed down (iv) all the nuance from the soviet POV characters would be removed because of current politics, they'd just be dumb brutes.
It would be a major disaster, I think anyone advocating for an RSR miniseries is quite naive.
The shot of the Nighthawks going down the runway was absolutely masterful.
I like how this one is probably one of the more accurate chapters in describing the at the time unknown F-117, moving behind enemy lines to take out enemy positions like they did in Desert Storm.
Of course, in Desert Storm, the F117 flew relatively high and thankfully did not have losses during the whole war.
I think that some of the initial targets would be command and control if they could locate it.

Good renditions. It's sad that a number a places mentioned in the novel no longer exist due to closure/abandonment. This is a reminder of what a "hot" war with the USSR would be like.

I have read this book a few times and wish they would make this into a miniseries. With CGI what it is these days it would be amazing! These videos and your content are amazing, thank you for putting that book into video and bringing back old memories.

0:58 It looks like the F4's lost half of their horizontal stabs! lol Keep up the great work!
Not really, the distinctive downward slant of the F-4 stabilizers causes the left rear stabilizer to visually blend into the aircraft body. If you look at the right most F-4 and freeze frame at 1:07 and 1:08, that aircraft's roll to the right causes the tip of the left stabilizer to become just visible.

Great work!!! After all of these years, I still can't get over the reference to afterburners on F117's. I think that I got over that oversight in the 80's by thinking that somehow it was a different version of F117 (kinda like poetic license by Clancy). Prichard's narration is so perfect for the book.
It's hard to fault Clancy for the inaccuracies when the only available information at the time was "The Air Force maybe has a fighter type aircraft with some sort of stealth capability". The man was mostly guessing.

The F117 was still a black program when Red Storn Rising was written.
There were a few rumors but no one had even seen a photo of the F117 at that point

One of my favorite books which gets reread on a regular basis, this makes it even better. Tom Clancy should not object against the masterpiece you've made. You enhanced his masterpiece.
I remember reading the book the first time way back in 1988 i think while i was on a beach holiday to Minorca and it was so good i never got a tan on my back as i was sitting up reading on my sunbed
