Ref groupthink: I think it was Gen Patton who coined the phrase; "If everyone is thinking the same, somebody isn't thinking."
Love this comment, 1st time I ever saw it...awesome. It's makes perfect sense. lol
Your work into making these are VERY much appreciated!!
more, More, MORE ! we need MOOOORREEE!
Babe wake up, FIXEDIT uploaded some more RSR again
Word
OK...this was funny the first 20 times it was used. Come on...move on.
I'll get the lube
I love this, but my darling wife, not so much…
Every single one of these are a treat to watch. Thank you for the hard work!
The camera work for the air battle over Iceland's rivers bays and mountains was breathtaking. It was like what I pictured in my mind is I read the book years ago, but only better than my old meat computer could produce
@@decimated550 its really a testimony to how good that flight sim is/looks.
@@BobChanel true but your works would still be great using the original RSR game!🎉 DCS simply compliments what you've done - exactly what I was dreaming I could organise when I read RSR the first time about 5 years ago.
YES YES YES!!!!!! Sir, I hope you understand how much we APPRECIATE your time and effort!!!!
So many fans of the book love this content!!
Thank you!!!🙏
"NOBODY GET ME!!! I RUN OUT OF FUEL!!!"
The whole book summed up in two sentences, lol.
This made me chuckle - I had never connected that line to the beginning of the book - that I have read 4 times.
@@cgilleybsw Honestly, I didn't either until I was watching this and thinking of something clever to say...and I have read the book a LOT more than 4 times. (I bought it when I was ten)
Nice one! Very astute.
That line is connected to the beginning of the book? I guess I have to read it a fifth time. @@cgilleybsw
@@Sky_Burger88 it could be a callback to the initial incident at the oil refinery which triggers the events of the book..
It's spelled Stykkishólmur (STEEK-iss-hole-murr). If you go, there's a really good seafood restaurant down near the docks (Narfeyrarstofa).
I love the American pilot’s response to being told he’s taken prisoner just like “Uh….suuuuuuuuure anywaaaaaaaay about them sharks”
I love the interaction between the two pilots. Seeing it on video makes it all the more hilarious.
One of the best parts of any book I’ve ever read
Best aerial dogfighting scene on screen I've ever seen. It's like one is watching the whole panoramic scene from a hill.
Fantastic. These are really enjoyable. I love your work with DCS and your choice of music and timing with the narrator. Your work is outstanding.
Too bad Tom Clancy isn’t around to write about Russian invasion of Ukraine. When the Russia surveillance aircraft was lost to a missile trap my first thought was this would make a hell of a chapter in a Tom Clancy novel.
I really like your work. Red Storm Rsing is still my favourite book since almost 30 years!!! Thanks a lot!!
Mine too.
@@wheelcha1rman2I urge you guys to read Red army. It has greater realism with a smaller cast of characters. Simply because Ralph Peters was in the military and knows a few things about the psychology of how men in uniform interact with one another. And he also wrote it from the Russian only perspective. And he intentionally did it without naming a single weapon system. Although he f**** up once and names a F-16 falcon. But he wanted to kind of be an anti-clansy and focus more on the men and less on the machines. It's a brilliant piece of work. It's better in some ways than Red Storm rising, but it's like having a favorite metal album and a favorite rock album. You don't really put one over the other because they're both great at what they do. Ralph Peters was the author
@@decimated550 I've read it. I own it!
@@decimated550 people forget Larry Bond co wrote RSR. Bond was in the Navy. I've pretty much got every significant example of cold-war-goes-hot fiction ever written in English.
@@wheelcha1rman2 Nice. I'm sure if we ever met we'd talk later to the night over drinks over what might have been. Hey, I bet you don't have the comic book version of team Yankee? do ya?? I do! I have one copy that I gave to a co-worker who went to jail for CP, OMG, so I will never get it back and don't want it either. So I got myself another copy.
This is so much fun! Thank you for all this wonderful work! Prichard is a great narrator!
Karl Casey always has a soundtrack that fits that 80’s theme I love it
I can honestly say that out of anything on youtube, video releases from you are what I most look forward to seeing! Great work as always 😎👌
God wouldn't it be great if Red Storm Rising was a miniseries on HBO? But these visuals are just as good if not better. Thank you for making them!
That furball between the Hornets and Fulcrums is something I've been dying to see your take on ever since I first discovered this channel.
Great video, I’ve read RSR 3 or 4 times and still love the humor of our guys even under great stress. Tom C really knew how to write a great book!
Bravo! Bravo! I've must have read Clancy's book at least ten times in the last 40 years. It never gets old.
Same here read it almost semi annually since the mid 90s
First read in in mid 80s and it has remained my favorite of ALL his work. Have read it half a dozen times at least. These videos are absolutely terrific.
This book was on my wishlist when I got out the army.. Holy crap, he knew some things..
The scene with the two pilots in the rafts always cracked me up.
The reaction when Chapayev hears "akula" is perfect. Probably had seen bootleg copies of "Jaws."
YES FINALLY!
Edit: Absolutely loved the ending. Felt so immersive!
It's just funny 😂
Tom Clancy is a literal genious and not hard to understand why much of his work has been transformed into movies, and series. The Red Storm Rising is another prime example why this should follow into the movie arena. It's been a gripping read and found it damn well near impossible to put down.
This has got me inclined to look for the audible version and this has whetted my appetite even more.
Thanks to the creator of this gem.
I think something like RSR would be far too ambitious for a mere movie. You'd need at least a miniseries for that.
Drew me in like a Clancy novel always does. So timeless in many ways and anachronistic in others. Well done. Thanks.
The shark bit has always stuck with me. Nailed it again!!
Ahh yes, it's here. 15:37 Glad to see you managed to convey the spectacle of the Fulcrum and Hornet melee so well without going over the top. And as a Fulcrum fanboy I liked seeing the Fulcrums give a good account of itself.
Them pilots showed good fire and visual ID discipline, if they were DCS players.... nothing would be flying. Friend, enemy, god will sort them out. 😂😂
A simply superb video.
Thank you, sir! I just saw the notice about this one (2 days ago but hey, I'm thankful).
Fantastic! What a work of art, I pray this entire book is eventually complete.
Loved this one... especially the ending... Cracked myself laughing
Watching again
The cinematic excellence here needs to be enjoyed by everyone…this is truly amazing
@19:54 I still let out an audible laugh.. Appreciate the kudos!
I would love a book on O' Malley. Great guy, and he knew his shit, even taking care of his boss.
Love these...going to dig out that book from the cardboard box it lives in and read it again. Great way to show visually the things that are difficult for non-military types to understand.
As a fan of Tom Clancys, I have all of his book, most in hardback! I love your audios!
I’ll be checking this out this evening. Good to see the new year kicking off with another RSR chapter.
What a treat to wake up and see a new installment! Thank you!!!
Do you know how good you are? If your fulfilment in these impressive videos is one iota of the joy you spread with them, then you're still a lucky man! You made happy man very old!!
One of my very favorite books, and your work is worthy of it. Thank you!
saw it pop up on my phone worked a 10 HOUR SHIFT!!! to see it on my tv not my phone… SSSSSSSOOOOOO WORTH IT!!! more please more!!!
Always a pleasure to see these publishes. Read the book in the 80s and again in early 2000s so it’s a great reenactment in my opinion.
Thank you so very much for doing this...😁👍👍
Thank you so very much for all your work on these videos! They are almost exactly how I imagine these scenes while reading the book. Just awesome.
I just finished reading this novel last Wednesday. It's amazing to be able to watch a visualization like this. Thank you for making this.
I got a copy of the book as a Christmas gift. I haven’t started reading it yet, but I watched this immediately. FIXEDIT is the only channel that I get notifications from.
The effort you've taken to bring this to life is fantastic, well done.
Fantastic episode-thank you.
A treat every time you upload FIXEDIT !!
For the Algorithm! !!
I have this audiobook and currently listening to it, again, for like the 15th time…
It’s one of my go-to drive home books along with Red Phoenix
So captivating, putting visuals , audio and fabulous narration with a great book.
I WANT MORE!
Thank you
This was simply spectacular. I know we all appreciate how much work you put into this! This looked amazing.
I for one read Red Storm Rising after coming across these videos. Great book, great videos.
Many thanks for these. Amazing work, and your work matching things like the chopper trip to the narrative was subtle and excellent.
21:47 I love the bobbing injection molded plastic fighter pilots!
Fantastic to see you’re still making these videos! I am honestly impressed to see you continue to make these better and better. PLEASE keep going!
I've seen some complaints about Michael Prichard and his narration but of all the Clancy narrators he's my favorite. I can't help but to think of G. Gordon Liddy when he talks. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for making these. I read RSR in the 4th grade. Its always been one of my favorite books. I spent years building amd playing Harpoon scenarioa from the book
Awesome series sir. Thank you. I read Red Storm Rising when it was first released. Your videos rekindled my love of the novel and led me to purchase another copy.
Friggin' sweet....another fantastic upload. Great job!!
I was already falling asleep when this popped up on my feed.
Works better than coffee with 2 chasers of an energy drink lets gooooo~!
Love the Red Storm videos, totally awesome
Your videos got me to start listening to the audio book. Thanks! I'm going to wait to watch this until I catch up. Liking ahead of time based off previous episodes.
such a joy and the anticipation continues right to the finale , great stuff thank you.
That was really nice work, thank you!
This is briillant, I am also reading the paperback again. Nice to actually see graphics on a screen, instead of imagining in my head.
Dude, someday soon this is going to be a full-length movie. You rock. Every time it is cold and rainy I put on Vampires and head out on my mission.
Lovely, haunting sight of the fighters dueling and crashing over Iceland's treeless plains. Great job, FIXEDIT!!
I remember when Red Storm Rising came out. I got the book as read the entire thing in one night. I could not put that book down at all. If the book could be made into a movie without changing anything, it would be a top grossing film.
In ONE night?! 😵
Really loved all the videos can't wait for part 39
@fixedit Your work on these videos is amazing. It encouraged me to buy yet another copy of the book and the audiobook
I've made this transit many times back on the USS LUCE DDG-38.
We were the Flagship for DESRON 2 ...NORTH ATLANTIC IN THE WINTER , GITMO IN SUMMER was our calling card 🫡😂
Great video! Looking forward to the next one.
Looking forward to the rest of it!
Another awesome piece of work
Most interesting ideo, thanks for sharing. RIP and respect for those crewmen that perished and their families. Thanks to rescue services for job done.
This is like a step up from the usual excellance, Tallyho!
Very Very Excellent!!! Thank you so much for this chapter!!!!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I was so happy when this popped up! You made my night, again!
I echo the sentiment of the other comments. Excellent job.😊👏👍
Absolutely love your work. Thank you so much for doing this.
Outstanding work, k3eep it up....Enjoy every Episode.
Thanks for your hard work. Very well done
Can't get enough of these! Can't wait for the next chapter!
These chapters were probably the most realistic telling of what an engagement of competent Soviet/ Allied forces might look like. Times have changed. In 2024, the allied pilots would comment that the Russian fighters acted like unmanned drones. Russian tactics still have their air assets tied to radar as if on a string; they are obsessed with with radar coverage for the battle area. This makes them very vulnerable to radar traps and lures.
Very good. You bring one of my favorite books to life.
It's always fun to see what you'll do with each chapter (or two). Many thanks, and keep up the great work!
One of the videos I truly look forward to on TH-cam. What an awesome job you have done. Looking forward to the day when the whole novel is completed including the tank battles🫡
Thank you so very much! Your recreation with the added video is superb, really makes things come alive!
Of the many excellent stories by Tom Clancy, this is my favorite. Red Storm Rising! Thanks for the new post, looking forward to many more!
Most excellent, again another great upload.
Thank You, these videos are very much appreciated.
