In 2013 which is when I finished school, the average classroom size was about 25
By 2030, if Starmer gets & almost all private schools are forced to close it'll be about 70
As much as I personally oppose private schools how the fuck are classes going to be able to cope
If you want your kids to have a private education from Secondary to Sixth Form
It's going to cost you £500,000 Per Child!!

She talks aboout 'fairness' in education. Wouldn't it be more fair if a child is taken out of the State education system to be educated privately then the parents should receive a discount on their taxation because they are not costing the State anything to educate their child. That would be fair.
To say that this is all about fairness is a load of nonsense. They just don't like people being able to spend their money on their own choices. They want people to do as they are told by Labour.

61% of our doctors studied in private schools. The middle class will be punished by Labour again. The 20% VAT from private schools is a pittance for funding all our children's education. It's really interesting how they plan to raise engineering education standards without increasing engineers' salaries, which are among the lowest in the Western world. Does she realize that to be a good engineer, training alone is not enough?"

The fact is pupils will go into the public sector where there is limited capacity. Also, private school teachers are fully funded by fees and pay taxes. Even if they move to the public sector their pay will come out of the public purse. Its economically illiterate.

Most middle classes sending their kids to schools get bursaries from their schools to help with the fees - these bursaries will all dry up once the private schools get hit by the tax raid. There will be no spare cash to help lower income families!
Plus fees will go up - so at least 20% of private school kids will have to leave and be educated by the state (maybe much more).
Then there are the private schools which will close down altogether (this has already started).
The private school kids in question are bright with ambitious parents so there is going to be fierce competition for the best state school places.
And of course those middle class parents can afford to rent or buy homes near to the best state schools unlike poorer families which means working class parents will find it much harder to get their kids into a decent state school under Labour, especially in middle class areas.
State school teachers are already warning about this - plus the inevitable increase in class sizes overall.
Every private school that closes or raises it fees will create a rush on state schools as parents move closer to the state school of their choice.
This middle class movement to be near to better state schools also have an effect on the housing market, pushing up rents and making it even harder for working class families to find affordable accommodation in certain areas.

There are actually only around 3500 secondary schools in the UK, so that is just under 2 extra teachers per school if it goes to the right place. I know very 'ordinary' people in my very working class area who've scrimped and saved to send their kids to private schools - just to be able to remove them from the underperforming local comprehensive schools and to avoid the drug, knife and bullying culture. These are not upper-class high earners, just normal folk wanting to help their children. The kids are doing great and getting good grades.
I also know teachers who are getting out of education because of violent kids and a system that doesn't back classroom discipline. Teachers are frightened of reprisals - physical or legal. Labour's wokeism would just fast-forward that sense of entitlement to be disruptive.
Yvette doesn't need to offer answers as Labour thinks the next election is a shoo in. However, they seem to overlook that when people hate the Tories, it does not mean people love Labour - just there's no realistic choice. They'll spend 5 years saying their hands are tied because of the mess the Tories left. It'll be the same ineptitude and cronyism only with a red rosette.
Tory governments implode through incompetence and arrogance, and Labour ones tear themselves apart in a militant-left v right-of-centre power struggle stoked up by the unions. Rinse and repeat every 4-5 years.

Sorry but no parent who sends their children to private schools could be considered ordinary. They are in a higher income
bracket and far more privileged than ordinary families who have little choice but to send their children to state schools.

The trouble with the front bench of labour is they are all multi millionaires and have no clue how some working class people go without just to send their kids to private school to giveth a better life they keep going on about working families but in truth they have no idea what it's like so fed up with rich people pretending to be like us

Ordinary parents can’t afford to send their children to private school in the first place so let’s not pretend that adding vat is going to be more of a hardship than it is for any other goods or services that it’s placed on.

Simple reason, they have no answer. They can't actually answer the question so they don't want to actually discuss the question or they come u stuck immediately. They just repeat parrot fashion pre arranged statements that have nothing to do with the question.
