I thought the run you'd pick from that Jazmine performance was the one that she sang in unison with the bass. There are so many good moments from that performance! That one is my favorite.
Loved this and would love to see more videos like this!!! Never listened to the male singers mentioned and I'm obviously missing out 😭 omw to do so, thank you!!!
For black singers, why is it an “obligation” for us to do melismatic vocal runs, riffs and acrobatics??? I can do them myself but I would just love for someone to tell me why. Please note that I am not trying to be disrespectful but rather curious and as a black person/singer.
I don't have any sources to back it up, but I think it may have some connection to the improvisational tradition of jazz and gospel music. Yeah, classical composers like Bach improvised, but there's not much left of that in classical music today, so today improvising in music is more associated with black music
Bro had me at Brandy in the thumbnail
FRR
Brandy's opening run from that same performance is just as insane.
Jazmine is next level I just can't, so good
This is what the community needs O’Neil. Please do more of these..
Love your channel! 🤍

Brandyyyyyyyyy! She’s From The Galaxy Of Angels! 🗣
I now definitely want to do a chopped and screwed acoustic version of Muni Long's pain. Thanks for that my G. keep teaching these kids
Love this video. Can you do something from Ari Lennox’s album?
That Samouth run was so rich.

Dope Vid. Dope Channel!
While he’s not RnB, Aaron Neville did a duet with Linda Ronstadt and killed it!!!!!
I loooooove lucky Daye, Brandy and Samoht. All amazing and humble artists.
Where did u get this shirt from? I love it!
Right! This is the one
It found ME. It was at Winners in Canada (the equivalent of a TJ Max). I have NO IDEA where someone can get one.
omg could you do a full video on Jazmine???
Can you do one of Mario's songs? 😊🥰
Yes ! Such a great singer. Lucky definitely sounds like Mario as well
What is that notation app?
This video is great but it’s kinda sad this is the top tier of runs in R&B music today. We gotta do more and better!!!
I just watch these videos because it's interesting. I can't sing a note period
unpopular opinion. Many singers can do runs, but have weak vocal ranges, stale tones, and/or no vocal power.
