    thank you for the description with the item links! Been wanting to get into diecast customs but was lost and overwhelmed by how I might mess up or even know what to do. You make this seem doable for someone like me. The step by step and in depth explanation with tips really just shows how much tou are going above and beyond for this and really seem to want to help! I know this is long winded, but again. Thank you, this hobby has gotten me through tough times by allowing m to collect my favorite cars, built my childhood with hotwheels of all kinds, and has recently allowed me to find a small group of friends that like diecasts too! I only have one suggestion that my dad taught me as a "family secret to touch ups" (he built things alot); maybe to fix some imperfections or straight up cuts, grooves, or divits, you can use a sort of wax/enamel or soft acrylic (the kind that you can make that molds alot like clay but easier to cut) to make a very fine layer by getting it soft enough to get a flat surface (razor blade at an angle like you are doing a reverse scrape) to allow it to fill the gap. Then, as I've seen people do for other things, spray silver over it as a post-primer coat. (Primer not always needed as for some things like irl aluminium car mirrors on older cars only need a thin clear coat and silver) i hope I don't sound rude trying to teach a pro, but I'm just really exited about the discovery of this channel and want to share some other tricks that might work too! Anyways, bye and thanks! (Again, sorry this is long)

    Great Video! You think it’d be okay to sand to 2000 grit and then never dull the cars?? I’m assuming the degreaser will take all the left over residue off??

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm pretty sure the polish would hold up for quite a while if you used a good polishing compound after the 2k grit. If you plan on painting after polish, then a really good clean is a must. I personally drop the car in a jar full of acetone and let it sit for some time. That seems to do the trick. 😁👍

    • @HonestDiecast
      @HonestDiecast  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not too old at all, Eclectic! You should always finish with polish compound to get the fine imperfections out and to bring out the shine. Buffer wheel works best but you can certainly apply and remove the compound by hand if desired! Hope this helps! 😁👍

  • @V_ML_C

    Do I need a rotary tool to get that mirror like finish? I tried using just my elbow grease and can't seem to get the same effect? I'm wondering if I didn't sand it properly or it's really the rotary tool that would make the difference. Thanks in advance.

    • @HonestDiecast

      This write-up is intended to help people who want to spectraflame paint a car to make it look like a Super or an RLC car. Or just have a fully polished car. Sad to hear this wasnt what you were looking for.
