In Canada, we use both metric and imperial measurements interchangeably as metric was formally introduced in the 70's and we get teased for it. But I laughed when you said your MIL's sweater needs 3" more in length but your sweater has 60cm of positive ease!!!! Too funny! So nice to see you and Kate together and laughing! Thanks for sharing!
Wow so jealous. I would love to be there to sit and knit with you both! When you showed the indigo I thought it was a pepper plant. Thank you so much. ❤
First of all, thank you for taking the time to record such a lovely video for us. ❤ Your garden looks wonderful. 🤗 (your knitting too of course 😉) Actually I wash all our woolen garments in the washing mashine. Most of it isn't super wash. I use an eco detergent for wool and silk and use the wool cycle. Nothing ever shrunk or felted like that. Of course if I accidentaly put a woolen garment in the normal wash, because it somehow slipped in there, it was ruined aswell.
I wash all my knits in the machine :) on a cold wool wash setting- I think it spins less (less movement) and you dont have the temp issue. If its naturally dyeed yarn you just need to make sure your soap is PH neutral (so the colour doesnt change) but otherwise any wool wash is fine :) so easy ! and because it spins the liquid out, stuff dries quicker too.
I watch Inga of Knittingtradions from Norway and she ways she washes all her wool garments in the washing machine on the wool cycle. I was shocked the first time I heard her say that!
A decent woolcycle is an essential on a machine! I wash all my handknits, handspun, cashmere, everything, on the gentle care cycle with surf wash powder 😁
Yippee.....2 of my favorites in one place!!!
What a fun treat to see you both! Thanks for the craic!

Did you hold your nutiden single or double for your Saglan (or Versal??) sweater? Thanks, Emma! I’m noodling on making one of my own!
