In the states sometimes at a yard sale, they'll use a tie on tag. If you used a tag like that on your UFOs you could put your info on them it would be quick. Just a thought.
Love your podcasts. Re the ‘jitters’ when don’t have any knitting to do. YES I get them. My brain is always thinking of new knits to start. I’ve had tendinitis in my thumb last week and a bit and I’ve been very jittery at night not being able to knit It’s always my relaxing time to do some knitting or cross stitch and not being able to do it is like having withdrawal symptoms!!
Thank you for the purl I-cord bind off recommendation. It was perfect timing as I sat down to bind off a garter shawl whilst watching your podcast! Jitters - yes, empty needles make me twitchy too, hence about 3 WIPs going at any given time. I missed seeing Rufus today - but his namesake shawl is lovely and is in my pattern library. Congrats on your new studio and new Patreon 😊
I've made 3 Stay Soft shawls - gave 1 away and I wear the others all the time. The shape of that shawl is excellent. Just the right proportions. And uses up moderate amounts of stash yarn really well.
Well. Love the video and your knits are so beautiful.Your yarns are also beautiful . I want some . Thank you for sharing with us. Glad you will still be here on you tube !
Your tank looks great Emma! I just use the notes app on my phone to jot down the needles I’m using and the pattern name so it's easy to search for when I forget later 😉
Like you, I am not good at noting needles sizes and gauge in books. So I use a paper pattern (I don't get on with using either my phone or tablet), and I write those details on the pattern next to the instructions.
I am a mushroom dyer and there are a few gem books in English, mushrooms +micopigments, by Miriam Rice, and Dorthy Bee Bee, and A Rainbow Beneath my Feet by Annette Benette, I am just naming these off the top of my head, these are not totally correct, but close enough for a google search. 👀 you can dye cellulose with mushrooms, just more labour intensive, and unpredictable. I am just finishing a knit along with Alicia Plummer, a shawl, that I used all mushroom dyed wool, and a lichen. I❤ mushroom dying! It is so much fun! Lucky for your husband you have a separate studio, as my family got used to it in the fall, but my partner at the time did not love all those earthy smells!
wow thank you that is amazing! I am so excited to try a few experiments. Your mushroom and lichen dyed shawl sounds beautiful. Thanks for the recomendations.
i've never heard of a purled i-cord bind off but it really does look so neat and beautiful. i will definitely look into it. i get very antsy in the last day or 2 of a big project thinking about what I'm going to cast on next.
When I knit a swatch, I do a row with a yarn over and knit 2 tog to create a series of holes for my needle size. I do use US sizes, so it makes it pretty easy. Maybe that will help.
I think you may have mentioned your needle size in a previous episode for the cloud sweater. You may have a record of it. I recall you talking about it and showing the swatch. Maybe a month or two ago. Good luck
I really enjoy seeing all the things you knit with your own yarn, because apparently this is kind of rare. I know of at least two yarn dyers whose podcasts I watch on a regular basis, and they hardly ever use their own yarn, which I find a bit strange, although that's completely up to them of course. I just find it strange.
The jacket mini that you are doing for your daughter is wonderful and I love the yarn your using. Is it prickly at all? I have Fibromyalgia and have to be careful with certain wools but I really love that fiber!
Love your podcasts and VLOGs. I knit while listening. Also is the music you use available for purchase?I believe you mentioned it before but I never wrote it down. Thank you. Also I am so excited for your natural sock yarn. The colors are beautiful.
@@woollymammothfibres Thank you. I found them on spotify after going back to previous episodes. Now have to download and figure out how to use spotify.
Emma, I do enjoy your podcast and almost never comment. I was so taken with your Stay Soft Shawl by Veera Valimaki. I have watched that part of your podcast several times and I can't tell that you have a striped section like it shows in the pattern. It looks like to me that you used 3 colors separately and your color choice was awesome. Can you tell me if that is what you did? So happy for you with the new studio,
Yes the striped part on mine is very low contrast! I did use three colours, but I think I also showed the WS by mistake so the stripes probably didn't look as apparent either.
my favorite utube, just love reality and calmness
this is a bit off topic but I really love the birdsong in the background.

Beautiful knitting projects 🧡
Totally get the jitters if I don’t have something to work on or cast on next! 😂
lol -- yes, I get the jitters when I don't know what I'm knitting next. Thanks for sharing your beautiful knits.
I am using some of your Galway Yarn in my Artus Shawl. It is perfect for it and so special!

I do the same thing with variety but with colour 😊

Your projects look great - how do you have time for everything you do? I am in awe at how much you accomplish. 👏😃
Well it took me two-three months to knit two things so not very impressive I don't think haha! But thanks!
Oh I 100% understand what you mean by getting the jitters when you don't have something to cast on next. You almost feel lost!
I think you may have mentioned your needle size in a previous episode for the cloud sweater. You may have a record of it. I recall you talking about it and showing the swatch. Maybe a month or two ago. Good luck
There's nothing worse than not knowing what needle size you were using when you pick up a languishing WIP! This happens to me too often.
My phone allows me to use my camera feature to translate text. You might try that for your book.
Great idea!

Definitely not prickly to me but everybody is different!

The music in this episode was played by my husband actually! But his brother Benjamin Amos has some songs for sale I think.

Are you doing an advent this year? Would love to do the Rufus with your yarn. 😊
yes! it's coming out 6th June.
What if you get a index card box so you can write it down. Also keep a little pen or pencil in the box 🤔
That's a great idea
Hi, looking to buy Primaveral Natural Sock Set- 4 x 50g skeins but wondering what the exact colours are?
Hi! They are are more or less one of a kinds- one was dyed with walnut, one with onion skeins, one madder and one madder + logwood. Hope that helps!
Hello! Norwegian viewer here! 🇳🇴 If Google translate let’s you down, I’m happy to help translating words/sentences! 😊
