  • Blender's Geometry nodes are a very powerful tool. although a little intimidating at first so today we'll take a look at a short simple system to get you familiar with it!

Hi, how would I make this setup but with random distribution along the curve?

how can we control the scale of the instances with a gradient ramp? so the length of the curve is mapped as the ramp, and the scaling is controlled by the white/black of the ramp, representing the length. so i can have smaller object at a certain paart of curve.

Very helpful, thank you. Wondering....I'm playing around and want to have a text for a curve, like the cone, but text. How do I have the text follow the curve orientation(like your cones do)?

I think I got it. I plugged the rotation of curve to point in to the rotation of the instance on points. The purple line is dashed tho. Thoughts?

Amazing tuturial thanks a lot! I'm just stuck now at the point where it says that i can't apply this modifier since the curve isn't converted to a mesh. converting the curve to a mesh first kinda makes this method useless or am i missing something?

have you tried not on diferrenct color using color ramp.. i want to create some kind of product animation that is changing material in constant not in gradient way?

How are you getting the preview for Curves to Points? I'm doing what you're doing and getting nothing. Referencing from 0:46 to 1:44. I'm getting the sense that you failed to mention a step somewhere along here. I'm doing everything you did, and nothing. Btw, those "click on subscribe:" animations in the middle of a tutorial are distracting.

i believe that's part of the node wrangler add-on. Recommend enabling that for working with nodes, it makes things a lot easier.
that said, it's only a small thing to preview things, if you just put the output of your nodes into the output of the system you'll see the same result, no nothing at all required about it.

@@thegamedevcave Aye, I have the node wrangler enabled. I'll keep experimenting.
Basically, I am trying to find things that will allow me to create a more efficient technique for the most PITA aspect of character creation......hair. LOL!
