This game is so good! I remember getting it on launch day on the GameCube. I was playing in my room after school with the lights off getting so scared, haha. I’ve been meaning to try out the remake. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!
@@RETRObutionofficial thats a hard one obviously im bias to 4 (still have to do seperate ways though) maybe 7 just for the bakers alone still like 2 and 8 a lot but for the former i found mr x more annoying than scary, and 8 loses the atmosphere in the 2nd half
Out of the versions I played (GC, PS2, og PC, HD PC, and Quest 2), I'd have to say my favorite one is the Quest 2. I love the HD PC, but man... VR is truly special. I enjoyed not having to open the inventory so much. This meant staying in the action a lot more often. The worst version for me was the og PC. It crashed way too much. Btw, og regenerators > remake regenerators. I was actually disappointed in how they looked and how they were introduced in the remake.
It's the only version of the original I have never touched. I've dabbled in the others and I wouldn't be surprised if the Quest version was my favourite if I played it
The original release on the GC was the best, every single other port was ported from the PS2 version which had cut graphics, cut on screen enemy count, and weapons deal more damage at the max level
@@clouds-rb9xt By now pretty much everything is well known You can look for it. Google is your best friend here XD But he's somewhat correct. If I recall correctly, PS3 version does not have the NGC prerendered cutscenes as the horrible PS2 port.
Maybe some other people could comment on the state of their PS2 controllers so we could see. I'd wager that I'm the unlucky one lol. Thanks for the comment
Idk. Personally I think the huge cursor in the middle of the screen ruins the immersion. Plus doesn't it make the game too easy? Being able to stop and shoot with the tiny red laser is part of the challenge.
I don't own a quest so I haven't been able to try it out. If it's anything like the PSVR2 version of RE4R then I'd totally believe that it's the best version. Thanks for watching
@@RETRObutionofficial in 30 fps (controller is ok in 30, but aiming with pointer is not), 480p with letterboxing around modern tv and terible scaling (at least if you dont buy scaler fro 200$ dollars), claustrophobic field of vision and with rounded crosshair that doesn't fit the game insted laser pointer. Nope, its do nothinl like setup i mention. And my proposal is actualy out of the box, you just instal game instal hd project and play game. Nothing more. Wii version? nothing like that

What age were you at the time? If I played it when I was 7 I would've had nightmares for a whole year 😂
@@RETRObutionofficial Haha I just turned 17 so it wasn’t too bad! Although the regenerator still may have caused a nightmare or two 😂
re4 wii. my first re game...and still one of the best
What's your favourite modern one? I can't really choose, I love RE4R, RE2R, RE7 & RE8

I remember playing through this on the Wii. I put a lot of time into the The Mercenaries. Easily the best way to play the classic version.
Re4 and remake are 2 diffrent games and are both outstanding
I agree, they do different things and I love both of them
Gotta play silent hill next it’s wholesome I swear
I have videos about SH2 PS2 and the remake on the channel
My Irish brother 🫡 The Wii version will always be the best!

I will steal a Meta quest and I'll blame you for it

Interesting, I guess the Wii version was my first exposure to the game so I didn't notice it
Either I'm really lucky or you're really unlucky but my original, 20 year old, very heavily used ps2 controller still works fine today.

Yeah I get the immersion point, I guess I'm just used to having a cursor on the screen playing Wii games so it doesn't take me out of it
I said it a while back....RE4R just doesn't do it...
I loooove the remake, I prefer it over the original
cry more
I have played three different versions of RE4 and the Wii version is my favorite.
I used to agree… but the quest VR version has my heart now

Resident Evil 4 came out the exact same year as Haunting Ground, which is highly underrated.
I'll have to give it a look. A boxed copy here for PS2 is €105 lol
PC version + hd project + Slightly increase FOV + ultrawide monitor + steam controller with gyro to aiming ULTIMATE VERSION
That does sound great but the Wii trumps it for the straight out of the box experience

Well if you play it on the CRT there'll be no problems. Any modded version isn't out of the box, a lot of people don't know how to install mods
@@RETRObutionofficial you assume people dont know how click in exe? :) CRT fixes crosshair, 30 fps and letterboxing? For other hand, who have CRT?
