Ah, someone on twitter/x called it. Soon as posts were showing up about the Piglet game, there was going to be a boom in youtubers with piglet's face as the thumbnail with these kinds of titles. It's hilarious.
I certainly think that the developers was originally going to make their own original IP horror game, but they got assign to make the piglet game. My assumption they probably use a reuse asset from their own horror game into piglet. I probably think they use this creepy eerie soundtrack into piglet. That is my assumption theory.
Piglet's Big Game feels like it could be compared with Clock Tower 3. Mainly because the game of course has a sanity/fear system but also having enemies be taken care of in special animations. Esp because Clock Tower 3 is kinda the most 'mystical' game in the franchise
@@RETRObutionofficial Don't forget to use clock tower rewind now that you can access the first game (it's faithful adaptation and got great reviews) But the rest still isn't on steam tho
@@misterboxhead3045Nah...its because they cost more than making something they can throw on the app store that costs significantly less but makes them more money. It's sad honestly
I grew up with it, Eeyore level was the spookiest, Owl and Rabbit were my favourite,Tigger as well. They had a very fantastical/dreamy feel. Very gothic. The levels were dreams after all,so the off music and empty locations had reason to be.
I am so lucky that I own my GameCube copy I bought from Gamestop years ago. It doesn’t have the original cover or the manual but it’s still the game. Haven’t touched it in a while since it gave me the heebie-jeebies as a kid. But I might pick it back up and play it for real at some point.
That's exactly what I'm going for with this style of video. I'm nostalgic for that era of TH-cam and I want to recreate it (with good audio and video quality) Thanks for watching 👍
Holy shit. I bought this game like 2 years ago for $8 because I figured my wife and I could get drunk and fuck around with it. Seeing it go for $200+ on eBay is insane. I’m so happy I got my copy.
I feel like piglets big game is going through a similar phase battle for bikini bottom. People didn’t really care about first then people start talking about story talking about it and then the game got a remake . Piglets big game didn’t get a remake though. You know I was thinking maybe there could be a pole asking if people would want to remake of this game.
I think BFBB was a fair bit more popular than this so I don't think it'll even be comfortable unfortunately. SpongeBob is more relevant than Winnie The Pooh is right now (even if Goodbye Christopher Robin is one of my favourite films of the past while)
It’d be tricky because unless they reuse the voices and audio from the original game, it’d be difficult to get the original voices back since Ken Sansom who played Rabbit and the Woozles died long ago and Nikita Hopkins who played Roo up until 2005 is all grown up.
@RETRObutionofficial Best licensed game I've ever played was the Mata Nui Online Game, a flash game released in 2001 to promote Lego's then-new Bionicle franchise. That game has surprisingly good writing, with some fairly interesting philosophy sprinkled in. It's a very slow paced and atmospheric game, playing almost like a visual novel, which is not at all what you'd expect going into a franchise like that. Honestly to date it's the only licensed game that doesn't really feel like a licensed game to me, it was in a league of its own. Not the single best game I've ever played, but probably the only licensed game I'd include in a Top 25 games I've played list - it's actually in my Top 10. Only downside is that it sets your expectations for the rest of the franchise way too high, as the rest of Bionicle's story is... All over the board, to say the least.
I think this might be the most obscure game I've heard of since starting this channel. I remember the Bionicle DS game that was a first person shooter and I looooved it. I never even knew the Bionicles had a continuous story
@RETRObutionofficial Oh, really? Bionicle was well known in its day for having a fairly convoluted and overly complex (and in its later years, very edgy) story in addition to some kickass action figures! Bionicle Heroes DS is a pretty solid romp, but it's not "canon", in that it makes no effort to follow the story or adhere to the lore. Most games did that and IMO that was usually fine. MNOG was rare for being very deep in the lore, although it's also more or less the lore's starting point. If you want a taste of MNOG, my wife and I did a playthrough of the game a few years back on TH-cam. It's very short, only about 2 hours long, and it's become one of our most popular projects.
This was the only winnie the pooh related game I played as a kid and the first hephalomp encounter terrified me enough to never make it past the first level
Thanks so much for covering this game! I've been overjoyed by this recent trend, since I've had ideas for making my own video on it for years. Really glad you enjoy the health mechanic as well. Great video!
@@RETRObutionofficial Oh, I've had it since I was a kid! As you said, it's game design and ambience is really underrated. I often try to revisit it, since it has such a short runtime.
I always thought something about the vibe with this game was unusual. I mean, I thought my earlier experiences as a kid were a fever dream until I rediscovered the game when I was older. Really crazy to see it all these years later getting such an arbitrary resurgence. Truly a fascinating specimen. Loved the video! :)
So, that's why everyone is talking about Piglet's BIG Game all of a sudden. This game and Winnie the Pooh was and STILL ARE my childhood, and like you I still have my plush Winnie the Pooh all the way back from the early 2000s. This however was a replacement Winnie the Pooh after my Dog chewed up the one I'd had since I was a Baby in the late 90s. Still sleep with it every night! I love Winnie the Pooh so much! He's one of the things from my childhood I never outgrew! Still love him to this day!
There’s many things about this game that are interesting but the thing that is most interesting is the combat system simply because of how fitting is for a eerie game, you simply form a line and then have a minigame that have a certain amount of time to do enough damage before the enemies kill your ass, it reminds me of the combat in resident evil gaiden which is similar. They could have done something far more simple like no adding combat at all and only focusing on the puzzle elements
No combat and more stealth would've made it even freakier, but again, if I wanted to put on my English teacher cap it would've taken away from the whole concept of Piglet facing his fears if he couldn't fight lol
@RETRObutionofficial i meant to say that the combat system could been cut but the combat itself is ok, like imagine using part of the scenario to defeat the enemy like dropping a box on their head, this form of indirect combat could have worked given piglet smaller height in comparison to all other enemies
@BloodwyrmWildheart mostly because it's sold out everywhere else and using the ShopApp alot of sellers open completely fake stores, I'm hoping this isn't a completely fake store Also on a side note this game has been selling for like 200 bucks the past few days so paying 30 bucks for it after I seen people pay upwards of 200 gives me a sense of scam as well, got to take risks it's either a great deal or a scam
What is funny is that this game surged in popularity after the Silent Hill 2 remake and NOT because of Blood & Honey. 😏
Blood and honey is stupid why do that to a childhood classic like pooh 😳😡
