i have that same control arms and hub/bearing from a friction tester 9-5 =) the friction wheel is connected to right rear hub via axel and diff ... real wonky upper arm
You are 100% right with the 5 speed, friend of mine used the 5 spd with automatic differential on a e46, 5th gear acts like 3rd in a 6 spd gearbox, good for sprint but top end… can’t drive it on highway around 80-90 mph. Nice project ❤️
I really like that you will aim for using a stock gastank. Also using the 9-5 rear axle might be a bad idea. Remember they are not built to widthdtand torque. Maybe look up a 9-3 xwd rear end if you want to use Saab parts.
If you have the Omega, chop the floor and stick it in the Saab, makes bolting the whole subframe/suspension in easier. You may be able to use some Astra/Corsa front flanges in some way for the rear too, they take the wheels and shafts.
Great idea… think someone in Sweden have a rwd classic 900….amazed that SAAB had toyed with bringing a rwd 9-5 to the market…. It’s always been an awesome design pre dame edna…original front lights just needed to be one piece with integrated blinkers…

That will be an absolute weapon when its finished but if I could make a suggestion and that is to get yourself a punchbag or an old dustbin and when the frustration sets in when parts that should fit, don't, you'll have something to beat on rather than throwing tools about! (I've lost a lot of hammers that way!)

The engine would be a 2.3 or maybe even the v6 and I have considered in my mind to even put a volvo 5cyl engine, In an ideal situation I would like to build a v8 from 2 2.3l engines but I think that might be harder to do. Are you gonna keep the interior and are you gonna put an lsd in the dif.

Hi, depending on which model of Saab? The only worries i know of is the ng9-5 2010-2011, for that model some body parts and interiorparts that are Saab unique is out of stock and wont return. For older Saabs i dont see the problem since there was alot of them produced 👍

Price and easy access to parts, a friend had an omega that i could get everything from. Its cheap to buy an e39 bmw but i dont have the possibity to fully scrap it and take the parts i would need

Can you give more information on the omega, what type of car did you get the rear dif and wheel hubs
The rear diff is an LSD diff and I dont know exactly which omega that Carey this. The hubs are from omega b 1994-2003

The calibra is to narrow and expensive parts

75l tank från en kombi och LSD diff. Vet inte exakt modell då jag lösa delar
