Excuse me, while I have this pinned, and also if this hasn't already been suggested, I noticed Furiosa grossed 140M on a budget of 168M, will movies with a negative gross be deducted from final totals?
I wouldn't be surprised if it had one of the better $/point values, but overall it's probably not going to add more than 10, maybe 15 million which is going to get dwarfed by the 5-10 movies that get more than 100 million. It also has probably the highest barrier to entry of all films. That being said I did just watch it and it was an absolute banger
This was 100% simple and understandable to anyone who has a remote grasp of what an “auction” is, and the first 2 sentences of explanation made it abundantly clear what was happening.
You know they could've set this up so the movie title rows are aligned with their point value rows and then they wouldn't have to write the names next to title. Also I love this video.
Minor nitpick: @26:03 not sure if anyone caught it, but Eric outbid Nick on Janet Planet (2 to Nick's 1), and yet Nick was charged 2 points instead of Eric. Eric's name was written down next to the movie, but it was on Nick's tab
Could just moves the movies down a few spots on the left and all the bids could be entered on the same line in the columns ... then bids could also be directly entered by the bidder.
I'm spending the whole time laughing about how badly they did they layout for this... They could just moved the movies down to start from row 4 so they could put the bids right next to the movie they were bidding for under the right person... 😆
@@concernedgaming7946Waterworld did 264 million in the box office. Since this is looking at gross and not net box office, that would be an amazing result.

watching this now made for some great fun looking these up, can't believe Gavin got Inside Out 2 for that low, Bad Boys did surprisingly well too, really picked well with those
I love this. This was essentially my job for months. I worked at a movie theater that served food and drinks and as a manager it was my job to write a schedule and staff movies. Well without knowing how well the movie would do i had to do research and guess. Obviously tickets sales the day or two before premier helped but the weeks leading up to it I had no idea. It was really fun and I got pretty good at it after awhile.
Another stellar supplemental. I can't subscribe every month but did for the first couple drafts and they've been great, and this is a fantastic followup to those.
Gavin has this, Inside out 2 is on it's way to being the biggest animated film domestically of all time with 650M and bad boys continue to do well. The last minions film did 369M so Despicable Me 4 will do about the same and Deadpool and Wolverine while big is still r-rated so it can't reach the same heights.
Cant wait to see how this turns out! Another stellar reason for wishing summer was over already. Next time in the B column they should put the amount that the movie was so sold for next to the name (Geoff - 4, etc.). Better for statistics and for double-checking maths
This is the most fun I've had looking at a spreadsheet! Some points were assigned wrong, but I think all the names on the movies were right, and that's what matters. Looking forward to finding out how these movies do, and who wins!
What a great episode. Like Geoff, I'm never really excited about any draft but by the end of the episode I'm always so invested in it. I'm hoping Gavin wins because of his leftover draft money.
If they are talking gross box office then it still did really well. Really should look at net box office instead so the budget would get subtracted and Furiosa would end up negative.
@@BananaMana69 Yeah it bombed relative to it’s budget but if you compare it to one of the bible movies that will gross like 2 million then yeah, it did well for this game.
