I am a landscaper and I listen to this podcast on average around 35-45hrs a week and its never not the funniest, and best part of my week.

The cemetery game chat is super weird for me. I'm an indie dev working on a game that is specifically about looting graves in a procedural cemetery, based on the characteristics of the person who was buried there, including their name, occupation etc. I'm also really good friends with some of the guys who made 'Still Wakes the Deep'.
Went back and listened from episode 40 and caught up in about a month, new regulation listener and so happy I found out about this podcast when it was announced RT was closing, up the boys 🤝
This is always just peak enjoyment. It helps that this just sounds like a bunch of conversations i had with friends before. This just gives me peak enjoyment and always enjoy when a new episode dropped.
I love the different pronunciations of "Quebec" at 1:03:08 or so. Geoff says it the NATO radio way because the Army taught him to spell, I'm pretty sure Andrew says it wrong despite being Canadian.

I know it's not usually openly discussed, but I hope at some point they will give a peek into how well the Regulation Company is doing financially. Of course sponsors will come eventually, but I'd happily cancel my netflix and go up a tier on Patreon if it means this gets to keep on going. I'd just want to know in time.

I love the cemetery bingo game idea. We had to do a version of this for a school field trip and it was super fun and informative. It helped to remove the stigma of cemeteries being scary to kids. If you’re going to do it IRL, I recommend doing it at a historical/tourist cemetery. As someone who cleans up family graves going as far back as my great-grandparents, I would love it if someone included them in a game like cemetery bingo because it’s not destructive and they’ll get visitors.
we did that cemetery game in like middle school once. idk remember why but we had to find certain names and ages and stuff just like Geoff described

Fun fact: Steven Seagal’s name is actually pronounced see-gull (like the bird), he changed the pronunciation to seh-gall after visiting a Chagall art exhibit, he thought it sounded tougher and more intelligent. If you call him see-gull today he gets really annoyed, so naturally that is the only way I say his name.
That IS a fun fact, and not at all surprising. I used to be a pretty big fan of the guy before he started acting like a complete douche canoe IRL.
I used to research and run cemetery tours, and people were generally really excited when we used the stories of their relatives. It's not exactly the same thing, but I really doubt there'd be any issue with the game.
Them reading off an ad actually made me really really happy. Good to know they've reached that point again, bless em.

I think the only way the cemetery "game" works is if you all go to different ones. That's how you'd "generate" a random bingo card.... and then it's not 4 or 5 guys giggling and pointing.. just one.
Fable's cemeteries were pretty humorous last time I recalled playing it.

This is an interesting thought Geoff had brought up. Cemeteries being lonely. I do think there is a way to make the idea of a cemetery more fun even if it is used to mourn. On Cemetery bingo, Im with Geoff. I have family in public cemeteries. As long as you aren't being fools and are keeping it down a bit and keeping distance from someone mourning, then I really see no problem with it at all.
Death is part of life, it's wrong to treat it as taboo imo.
Is anyone cool with the cemetery idea? Like Geoff keeps saying “just like sloppy joes bingo we’re not being derogatory” and then there’s the dumb hat space, or dead parrot head, or kid out too late and Geoff starts yelling at them.
So while the cemetery idea on paper doesn’t sound bad there’s no way Geoff doesn’t f**kface it and make it in some way sorta insulting.
I used to live in Denmark and people treat cemeteries like public parks there. Chilling, drinking beer, throwing frisbees. It was quite strange but now Geoff's idea isn't off putting to me.
I know "allegedly audio friendly" was an OffTopic thing, but it's very much a Regulation Pod thing too. Back when y'all were FFace, I watched exclusively on TH-cam or the site for video format

I knew a guy in high school who always forged his parents' signatures on everyone. One time, he actually got his parents to sign something. Then, he got called to the principle's office because he "forged" that signature (based on the fact that it looked different from the typical signature). That was how he got caught forging signatures that entire time.

i think it should be more like writing prompts, pick three items, choose one word from each item and entwine them in your story

Cloverfield was all filmed first person, because it was all Hud. I don't think Blaire Witch counts because they famously flip the camera around and talk about being so scared
I can think of at least one scene near the end where the camera is dropped in Cloverfield, for what it's worth. Tho I would still count the movie overall to be first-person (I'd probably count Blaire Witch as well but I haven't seen it yet)
