I don't think that's the case. Having Scott have to re-render a lot of shots just for them to have a reference would be pretty inefficient, especially due to there being TONS of fanmade models and renders they could base stuff from
@@Mewtwo_150 That's really not possible (not a good idea anyway). Scott's models are VERY high poly and aren't optimized for 3D games. The way rendering works is that your GPU goes trough all the points in a model, for every model, stitching all the points together and calculating stuff like textures and UV positions. Help Wanted wouldn't even be playable because of how laggy it would be if Steelwool didn't make new game-ready models because of how many points your GPU would have to go trough every frame (this is also one of the reasons why games lag when they're set on a very high graphical setting, if your GPU isn't a 3090 that is).
At the ten minute mark, as a developer in Unreal Engine 4, yes that is Debug Text. Those are warning when a system is doing something improperly. Mostly its just for when the engine wants to scream at you about unbuilt lighting : /
If I remember right, from the interview with Dawko. Steel Wool revealed that the MultiPlayer map was something that they were testing on but never intended to put in the official release. It was very funny to see their reactions when Dawko told them fans had found code for the unused MultiPlayer. They just said “of course they did” lmao
Steel Wool actually gave a rundown on how Flashlight Freeze would work, at least on consoles. Essentially, players out of VR on controllers would control animatronics trying to attack the vr player in the center of the map.

The unused princess quest graphics are actually reused for security breach where there is a playable arcade game which is princess quest (working title) where the old man, princess swinging the sword and all the map graphics are used there
The "end showtime" is kept out of bounds so that the positions of the "showtime" and "end showtime" buttons can be swapped fast without having to load one, then kill it, then load the other one. The showtime was scrapped really late in development, so it didn't make a lot of sense to even remember that the "end showtime" button was there, and so it was never unused.

The reason why there is a lot of fan-made models is because steel wool Studios didn't know what was the fan-made model and what was official even Scott said he is not surprised that his fans can do as well or better than him.
I would ask "Why didn't Scott send over assets to them for reference?", but even AAA game studios have this problem (* cough* Okami Wii's boxart and Smash Ultimate's Spirits * cough*)

Here's some corrections on some of the topics: • The "Glitchtrap" animatronic also has an alternative name, that being Virtualtrap. I'm not so sure if it's used in game files. • Balloon Boy's jumpscare was supposed to be used in the Trick or Treat section, but since BB jumpscaring the player wouldn't be so effective, the devs decided to use nightmare BB to jumpscare the player. Ironically enough, Balloon Boy would get a jumpscare in Special Delivery
Steel Wool (Developers of this game) recently shed some light on the scrapped multiplayer mode. You would have 1 player wearing a VR headset, with up to 4 others with controllers. The player with the headset would be a guard, and the other 4 would have been animatronics. The rest explains itself.
Fun Fact: In the new "Five Nights at Freddy's: The Ultimate Guide" book, Spring Bonnie's official model was revealed. Edit: Also Funtime Foxy in the original teaser is yet another fan-made model.
Fun fact: the curse of dreadbear dlc had a time limit on context so the graphics for the dates oct. 29 and 31st where there to let the players know the playable modes/minigames are not ready till the date show. They did this in short to give everyone a fair chance to find any secrets from what I heard.
Same, honestly. I got through the first 4 nights of FNAF 1 and I've been perpetually stuck on night 2 of FNAF2 out of pure fear. Anyone who says FNAF isn't scary hasn't played it in VR and needs to. It's literally a whole new perspective on the series.

Part of me wonders if the showtime thing was patched out because they hadn't decided on the voices for the characters yet. They've changed a lot over the years in the small snippets we've been given and only recently did we even get canonical voices for main versions of Freddy and Chica (the Glamrock versions from Security Breach.) I know Foxy finally got definitive voice in his little rail-shooter minigame, though.
It’s funny. If there is one group of characters in all of fiction that doesn’t need to have a established canon voice, than is it Freddy and the gang. Because you know, they are show robots and probably get their voice hardware and software swap out all the time
