Recipe for a lightweight tack driver in 6mm ARC: CF Proof barrel of desired length, JP enhanced bolt (Proof barrels are headspaced for this bolt), JP thermal fit upper. A titanium superlative arms adjustable gas block is a nice add-on.
18” proof carbon in 6mm arc. It is on the extreme accurate side. Self built but didn’t scrimp. Liked it so much bought a 18” 22arc carbon barrel from proof.
Holy shit, that's me!! Thanks for leading off my question with a p diddler intro lmao. . Was definitely going to put an adjustable gas block on, has worked well on my other builds. I believe both barrels had an spr contour.Trying to build a shorter rifle for me that my wife and kids can shoot also. Appreciate you taking the time to answer. Love the podcast, can't beat laughing your ass off and learning something useful. I will be ordering some ammo when ever I get finished build it.
You’re already in an expensive hobby. Just save over a couple more paychecks and get the quality SS or CF barrel. Don’t be the jackass that complains about price and buys a Bear Creek barrel or whatever other cheap nonsense is out there.
Because I’ve been watching your videos (podcast, 12 min talks, and bench talks) I’m contemplating on going 6mm ARC over 300bo for hunting specifically whitetail and hog. Looking at some barrels I’ve seen Faxon Ballistic Advantage, Odin Works, CMMG, Rainer Arms and Rosco along with PR and Noveske. The PR and Noveske are obviously more expensive but any experience with the other brands? Recommend any other brands for someone building 6mm ARC on a budget?
Just got my 14.5 proof carbon 6arc barrel. P&W’d. It’s on point. I fully expect MOA or sub with it. I will say, the only reason I pulled the trigger on the proof is because of military discount. If not I would’ve gone another route.
@@txpredatorhunting I mean... The only real reason they're worth it is if you're saving weight. Other than that there's no other real advantage unless you think they look cool
I have an 18in Proof 6 ARC barrel and a Riflespeed Gas system and it is only about 6.5oz heavier than a 12.5 Noveske Stainless barrel Low pro gas block. 5.5in and a lot of easy adjustability.
@@leuveu6610 shoot a barrel with the same steel profile. The added CF would actually make that barrel heavier. I worked for a CF barrel manufacturer. It’s marketing. The only reason I’d buy one if for looks. They do look sick

Getting a Noveske gas block off is like pulling the sword from the stone
Lifting thors hammer being not worthy!
Long story short, after you've told the long story!😂😉😁👍🏻👍🏻
Ballistics advantage 416r ss barrels are my favorite.

How much is the discount if you don't mind me asking
@@13starrevolution23 quite substantial, not the measly 10% some companies offer...occasionally you'll find them on sale for the mil discount price
Carbon fiber barrel's are overrated and not worth the extra price. There, I said it!
Why?

Got your ass, Wade.
Sammy Hagar higher and higher going on here.

Wade, you never fail to make me laugh.
Sweet
cf barrels are really just marketing
this entire channel is marketing for the 6mm arc
@@DominicZelenak mind blown 🤯
Busted , brought to you by Hornady!
the fact they're a lot lighter isn't marketing.
