How To Change Plugin Presets In REAPER Using MIDI Automation

  • Today I'm showing you how you can program plugin preset changes in Reaper using MIDI program change automation. This method works with most VST plugins that have presets included (or you can recall your own presets). Note: some plugins require a different setup, check user manuals for those!
This also works with outboard gear such as multi-fx guitar modellers and similar gear.
Also, I included a very basic example of parameter automation.
The amp modeller used in this video is the new bx_Rockergain100 from PluginAlliance. Brilliant Orange emulation!

Great job! Can I do this for differents fx chains in a track? Each fx chain has two or more vst plugins.

Thanks Kenneth for the great video. I am currently trying to workout how to make it work with the Behringer FCB1010 foot controller. No luck so far.

Thanks! Yeah, I have the FCB1010 myself, which I use a lot to control my Kemper, but not sure how to do this with Reaper. I might just dig a little to see if I can figure that out. Like a lot of other stuff with Reaper, it's probably not hard once you figure out the how.

Hi! i was just trying to do the same and turns out that you have to arm the track to record and also activate the monitoring, that worked out for me!

this is great thanks very much , it works for track fx but can it also work for input fx in Reaper ? Input fx doesn't seem to have the depth of parameter access that Track fx has ?
