    Nice! WhiteTie has received so much undeserved hate for the default 7 theme and the delay with the Theme Adjuster. He's just one dude doing practically all the UI work in Reaper, while other DAW developers usually have a whole department with people working on the UI. People really need to give him some slack.

      The only thing you can hate on is the volume and panning knobs being so goofy looking LOL. Everything else is top notch. The contrast of the font is so much better now.

      @@nicktshredz That new volume knob is the worst I have ever seen. White Tie released Dark colorless mod of Default 7 theme which fixed that funky knob and looks like a professional DAW.

    This is insanely flexible, feels like the inevitable evolution of the Theme assembler, but IG the only thing is missing are the different buttons or being able to add your own buttons and icons maybe etc. But this feels way more flexible and customizable than I thought it would, considering Reaper's UI is still raster based and not vector.
    8:16 it would've been nice if you could also color the actual automation based on the color of the track and not just change the color of it on the TCP or be able to change the color of it as easily as you change the track color instead of changing it from the theme development menu.

      its fairly simple to swap out files in the unpacked theme, but a v7 version of WT Assembled would be really nice.

    The adjuster 7.0 is unstable. If you select the "Stretch Name " balancing method on the "Track Control" tab, then you have to adjust label length in the "Track Panel" every time.

    Fantastic. Amazing tweak-ability - wonderful. BTW - the main issue for me in so many themes is the size of the font in just about all areas - but especially the plugins within the mixer - far too small and cramped for tired old eyes (which have been that way most of my life)! So, can we change the size of those fonts by any chance?

    It's insane!!
    One weird thing I find is that if it's meant to be this flexible, limiting it to 3 layouts is kinda crazy.
    Also I am not sure I can get used to the mute/solo buttons not being pinned to the track, it's the only thing that's making me really hesitant about v7 theme :(

    • @codywrightmusic
      @codywrightmusic 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I also am kinda sad that it’s just 3 layouts, why not allow custom layouts without customizing Walter code?
      Some tracks just need names and nothing else, but it sucks to lose an entire track layout because of that

      I’d also love to be able to adjust the height of the volume fader past what we can do right now in the mixer window.
      I really enjoy the strip layout, and I wanna use it for a my parallel fx, but the fader is so small, all I need is the name, volume, pan, mute, solo, but laid out with a much taller volume fader for better fader resolution

      its three layouts that are dynamic though so it covers more situations than many static layouts. I'm only using 1 for tcp and 2 for mcp mostly.

      Pinning Mute and Solo all the way to the right on the TCP is what I miss the most too. Think I'll stay with my mod of the default 6 for now, though it's sad to miss out on some of the new cool things.

    Maybe the developers would be better to do a piano roll, and for example still make a normal Sampler?
    Working with ripper piano roll causes pain for thousands and thousands of users, it is absolutely terrible thing in which it is impossible to work quickly and with pleasure. And customization is absolutely not a deadly thing, especially customization of themes.

    • @DjangoFlaherty
      @DjangoFlaherty 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      What's wrong with the piano roll? You can make it behave like any other piano roll in a few minutes of tweaking. We've got a customisable beat grid with swing - not seen in any other DAW I've used, and we've had scale-lock long before Ableton and FL Studio.

    • @rano12321
      @rano12321 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That was my initial impression but every pain point you have with the piano roll in reaper can be customized to your liking, after you customize it, IMO it's much faster and easier to work with than any other DAW like FL, Ableton from my experience. And the sampler is pretty good, it still can get some updates and make the ui better but in general it's pretty good.

    • @unname-qj2ns
      @unname-qj2ns 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@DjangoFlaherty First of all, I don't want to spend time on tuning (and it's not a couple of minutes as you said, it takes much longer), I just want to work. Secondly, unlike a piano roll like FL, it's impossible to work with panorama note settings normally and quickly (this applies to everything else too), only the volume setting is in quick access, and that works weirdly. It is impossible to make cool slides 808 for example, as again in the same notorious FL. Basically, working with midi notes is extremely inconvenient, and always time-consuming. I don't argue, in riper you can adjust anything, but I don't want to become a programmer for this, and I don't want to spend days on adjusting the program, I just want to write music. All these problems that I have listed are just a small tip of the iceberg of piano roll problems. The same goes for the sampler. Of course, it fulfills the basic function, but it is too little functional. And yes, the design of the standard plugins is already too outdated, and it's high time to work on it. There are a lot of more important problems than customization of the standard theme, and it would be better if developers worked on them.

    • @TheREAPERBlog
      @TheREAPERBlog  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      try doing MIDI in FL Studio, then import the audio to reaper for mixing?

    • @DjangoFlaherty
      @DjangoFlaherty 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@unname-qj2ns I agree with your point about the sampler. I use a script called MPL RS5K Manager to build drum racks which makes it a lot easier, but I understand not everyone wants to install scripts. I also wish they would skin all the elements of Reaper. On Windows it doesn't follow dark mode like on the Mac for some technical reason and it's not ideal.
      Slide notes in FL only work with their own plugins. For VSTs you still have to use portamento or pitch bend (and pitch bend on VSTs is really weird in FL). There are free samplers you can use that have portamento - I think Momentum by BigFish is a good option, but IMO it's more fun to make your own 808s in a synth.
