Love this bag! I use it whenever I swim or attend water aerobics. I love how it lays open and is so easy to fill and pick up. Nothing falls out. It's perfect. People stop to ask me where I got it. I tell everyone who does about your tutorials and how you make learning to crochet and understanding patterns challenges easier. Thank you for your hard work. Have made about 6 of these bags, and have this pattern memorized. This truly is one of the best bags I have found on the web. Have been thinking next time I get to the store, will buy some fishing line, I think that would take a lot of the stretch out... BUT love the stretch factor of this bag, It will hold anything and everything. LOL... like a bottomless pit. The more you fill this bag the prettier it gets.. Clare this is one of your better idea's!!! Thank You again..

Susan, you might want to consider creating some playlists so that you can save the crochet videos you like. I've got about fifteen playlists just for crochet; I have them categorized by type of project.
otherwise, your watch later list could get really big, really quickly :)

I've been crocheting for about 2 1/2 months now and I'm going to try your bag. I love it! I've finished my granny square, in worsted weight, using an I hook. I have 10 rows and it's measuring 12" (I must crochet looser than the person who commented below that it took her 11 rows with an I hook to reach the 12"). I hope I haven't crocheted TOO loosely. Fingers crossed that I can do this!

I started a granny square from yarn gifted to me by my mom it was super soft and I was excited to make a poncho, the color was so beautiful I figured I'd just go buy more to finish my project. I ran out of yarn, went to multiple stores & on line only to find out yarn color had been discontinued 😥. I looked for crochet video's to get ideas on what to do with this square. I found yours and completed my new purse which I love. I also made a medium and smaller matching pouch. My mom's happy I used yarn she gifted & I am also very happy. Thanks 💗

I've been crocheting for 15 years now and have been know to tweek a pattern to my own liking but nothing that I would give away. I made this bad a few months ago and used some left over cotton and I was very happy with how it turned out, I did not do the slip stitch method but I feel it turned out very well none the less. Thank you so much for this idea because it has helped me use up some of my stash yarn. I use my "50 shades of brown" bad for groceries and have had a new comment every time I go to the store. Loved this so much that I am going to be starting on another one this time in hot pink and a variegated color except I am going to be doubling the yarn to make it thicker. Thanks again by the way.

K...so, I made this one with a 10" granny square...and it is so wicked cute! It just fits a giant coffee tin that I use to transport my yarn around. It is AWESOME! Though it is smaller than this one, and I used Red Heart 4 ply worsted weight yarn. 9 rounds equals 12 inches by the way. I only did 7 rounds, hence the 10inch granny being used. I was afraid of not having enough yarn to finish it...LOL :) Thank you for sharing this project with us all! :)

I like this a lot and I thought it would be nice to try with recycled shopping bags, my Aunt is a big recycle and reuse person and will not use a plastic bag from the store so I am making this for her. I will post a pic on facebook when done.

HI there, you can start a new ball anywhere if it is the same colour, if you want to change colours I would suggest doing so at the beginning of a row :)

i made it with worsted yarn and with a G hook ( 4.25 mm) and when i got to 11 rows around it was more then 12 in.So i had to choose to either keep it 11 rows at 13.5 in or to do 12 rows which will be 14 in.i choose to do 12 rows, like you. thank you so much for this video, it was easy to follow

love this pattern and will def be making it. can I tell you an easier way to do the edging and handles? start your single crochet at one peak where you want the first handle to start and work down to the valley and decrease then work up to second peak. Work your required length of chain, turn and slip stitch into the first peak then single crochet across the chain. Continue single crocheting as before around to the next second peak and make the second chain, turn and slip stitch, crochet across

Thank you for sharing! I would like to try this method also, but how are the corners handled for this particular pattern? How many sc's are worked in the peaks/corners and if multiple sc's are worked there, do I need to work 4 sc's separated by 1 or 2 chains ? I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Thanks for this I didn't realise that in Australia 8ply was our double knit, because 8ply here is an aran weight. I've got some Australian patterns and it helps to have correct comparisons. Will have to make this though, it looks neat and handy.

I started this recently with Sugar n Cream 100% cotton. With an I (5.5mm) hook I did the bottom in 10 rows. Now to finish the rest!
