    I have to say this...I've watched so many basket tutorials, and I'm not one to give up. Your video made me the PERFECT basket!!!
    No others explain anything like you do. And you show it all, very very clearly. And, yes, bobby pins are my friend. Most tutorials say to use a stitch marker but dont show where to put it EXACTLY, you dont miss a thing. I thank you so very much. I tried numerous times to make a basket, numerous tutorials. I CAN DO IT. Yeah! :-)

    Claire, if you crochet into the back loop on the first round going up the bag, you get a very nice decoration.

    Hey Clare,
    I just wanted to say Hi and that I'm a big fan. When I started crocheting, I could barely make a square and only knew two stitches. But I found your channel and have been going along with your tutorials and my crocheting has vastly improved. I've made a few of your projects and they turned out well I think and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the help you've given me! Have a great day :)

And now I am going to try to make this bag :D thanks so much again!!

    Thank you so much for the great pattern. I am new to crochet, and found this super easy. I used Lion Brand Thick yarn (in a dark brown with pink trim) so only used one strand. Also, I did 100 chain on handles. It came out great. It is now my WIP tote.

    I’m always looking for patterns for bags or baskets to keep all my yarn in. Thanks for the tutorial. Your tutorials are so easy to follow and you explain everything very clearly. I love all your tutorials. Also, I’ve been seeing videos about Australia needing pouches and stuff for the Koalas and Kangaroos that were affected by the fires in Australia. What I’m wondering is if you happen to have a pattern for something like that. Sending prayers for everyone affected by the fires, stay safe.

  • @violetunicorn9188
    @violetunicorn9188 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you very much for this beautiful pattern :-) 🥰 Now for a little constructive criticism (please forgive me as I cannot help it lol)... if you change three and join at the very beginning instead of turning four, you will have a smaller hole. It is almost undetectable.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      this pattern uses a magic ring or a chain 4. if you use a magic ring there is no hole. the bag is also working in a continuous round so no joining

      The same stitch that you are working the bag in, so in this case it's half double crochet.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, you need to use tight tension to make it stand up, also you may need more increase rounds and rounds on the side if you want it the same size

      Thank you Kim, yes you can do a chain 5 or 6 or you can do a magic ring and then you can pull tight after you get all your stitches in. Hope this helps and thank you for watching my video

    Hi, I crocheted this bag for a friend's mom for Christmas and she LOVED it!! She has ordered two more just like it. LOL. I made it red and used black as my stripe and trim. I wish the written pattern was published though so I don't have to watch the video and take notes. Thank you for the video. I subscribed!! How much yarn would I need for one bag? I used two strands like you did. I don't remember how much I used.

      It worked out, the 2nd time, but they do want to curl inward, I just messed with how I did my hdc's, brought upward and my yarn straight up from the hook, made them looser, tighter, I did a lot of messing with it. Hi there I would just like to know if you stiffen your bags because some of my bags that I crochet are like floppy and they are not firm. I hope you can help.

      Hello, to help with making the bag stiff you can crochet really tight, using a smaller hook that is recommended for the yarn
      Hope this helps

      Hello, always watch the introduction to the video as this has the information you asked about
      I used 2x 7oz/200 gram balls of ***** Super saver and crocheted using 2 strands held together
      I also used scrap yarn for the contrast colour

    What do i do if mine does not flatten out after 3 rows?

      Double check your number of stitches. If you have the right number it should be pretty flat.

    Could this be made with just one strand of chunky weight (6) instead of 2 strands of DK.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, for the life of me, I cannot figure which of the 3 at the bottom chain 4, I've tried pulling at each and they dont budge.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      do you mean your starting chain? If that doesn't work you can always start with a magic circle

    Ah.. worsted weight is thicker than 8ply ... double worsted yarn would be a bulky yarn., ideal for this 💖🌈🐻
