    Live it and it's easy. I made your granny recently one and came out nice. My granddaughter liked it. I'll try this one. Thanks miss Claire. Hola. Maria and my spoiled doggie Tiny Land from Phoenix Arizona. Blessings.

    I'm loving this bag! I'm making one now but I'm going to line the inside and use as a regular hobo shoulder bag. Navy, lavendar, white, and light gray metallic. I can't wait to finish and use it! Thank you for such clear and easy instruction. I could listen to your New Zealand accent all day!

    This is the best video for the foundation double crochet. Now I get it. Never could figure out the st. To go into. The chain st makes sense.

    Great tutorial. I really appreciate your patience and how thorough and meticulous you were in explaining how to complete this from beginning to end. It definitely made it seem so simple and much less intimidating than your average instructions would've led me to believe. It also didn't take very long and, most importantly, the bag turned out GREAT! I'm looking forward to making many more as gifts. Thank you again :)

    Made one in variegated yarn, not easy to see the stitches but still beautiful. Will make another in ombre or solid. This is such a good tutorial, easy to follow and the bag is so cool! I gave away the first one and my friend puts her whole grocerie shopping in there. She loves it!

    Clare, awesome tutorial. I'm looking forward to starting mine, I'm going to use a worsted weight cotton yarn for mine as I have tons of it on hand in my stash. During the summer I like to start on holiday gifts, small ones anyways. It's way too hot here to be buried under huge projects, afghans, heavy winter clothing, etc. I'm also hoping to get a bunch of Christmas ornaments crocheted, enough for the inpatients ar our local veteran's hospitals and the local veteran's nursing home. Being a disabled veteran, I know firsthand how it is to be stuck in the hospital for weeks and or months at a time, and being there for Christmas can be very depressing.
    If anyone is looking for a charity project to start on for this year's holiday season, please consider doing something for the veterans in your communities.

    Yay I’ve been loving me some bags lately 💕 I made 2 little children totes for my daughters friend little girl who is 3yr at St. Jude Research Hospital she was diagnosed with leukemia but is now cancer free but has to have treatment for a while. Her little friend I made one for her too her BFF 😊 they loved it. Such a good hospital and the kids and families have so much gifted to them and positive atmosphere which a lot of people don’t get to see. Plus the kids have parties play tons of games go to the zoo all kinds of things when they feel good.
    I did my totes in Red Heart super saver and changed color about 6 times their almost like your rainbow shawl. Who now I’ll probably be asked for more. B
    But I’m making me a bag and I like the looks of this one ☝️
    Glad you got the technical stuff figured out my husband is tech support 🤪

    hello. i know i am months behind the last commenter so am hoping that you can see my comment and respond :) I love this bag and have no idea what i am doing wrong. I started with an 8 ply cotton yarn and it went no where near the size the could be made into a bag so I ditched that and grabbed some 8 ply acrylic and tried again using a J or 6mm hook and although it is bigger than with the cotton yarn it is nowhere near big enough to be made into a bag. Your photo in the printable pattern looks like a square but mine at 22 rows is a rectangle..so.....do I just keep going until i get a square, many many more rows??????? please HELP lol. Could you maybe send me the measurement of the finished body before you begin the sides and handles? thank you in anticipation. Cathy

      @CrochetwithClare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      YAY !!! That is great that you worked it put :)
      I was going to say that the 8ply yarn is much thinner than the 10 ply yarn that I used to make the bag. You will have to do more chains and probably more rows :)

      @@vickyaustro1 Hi Virginia. As it turns out I wasn't doing anything wrong except row counting. (unfortunately I gave the bag to my grand-daughter for Christmas so can't look at it so am winging my memory) :). So, in essence when I thought I had completed 22 rows, I had in fact only completed 11 rows. Still not realising that I was actually counting the rows incorrectly, I simply kept crocheting until i had a square.........it was only then that i realised that i had in fact followed the pattern perfectly and had 22 rows. .Basically I started with cotton which is a much smaller ply than the acrylic i ended up using.......so i used an 8 ply (Australian) acrylic and a size 6 hook. In the end the bag was really lovely and looked like the one in the photo. My grand-daughter is happily using it for shopping. I hope this helps........Happy crocheting.

      G'day vicki jen thank you for your comment. I only crocheted on the outside of the straps
      I am not sure what your asking
      After you crochet the square, crochet 2 opposite sides for sides of bag, then 2 opposite sides for the handles.
      When you are adding the straps you are crocheting around all 4 sides, but only adding handles on 2 sides
      I hope this answered your question

    I am having such a hard time keeping the edges straight! Im missing which stitch to dc into before turning to do the next row. Taken this apart about 6 times now :/ helpppp

      G'day danielle aileen, if you use a stitch marker to mark the last ans first stitch or your row this may help you remember where you have to crochet into, you always need to crochet into the last stitch, which will be the chain from the previous row
      Thank you so much for watching my video, happy crochet!

    I am not sure how I messed this up. My bag turned out short, shallow and not useful. :( All I can think is that in the beginning, your 70 stitches equaled 24 inches BUT my 60 stitches equaled 24 inches. Maybe I messed that up? DANG!

      I completely agree but translations are not free. It is quite expensive to have the videos translated for TH-cam as someone would have to watch my videos and type out the translations word for word.

    whats the point in having a tutorial if you dont go slow enough for others to learn.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i am sorry you are having trouble following the instructions. The tutorial is slow enough to follow along with the written pattern but if you need it to be slower other than rewinding and playing it back you can change the playback speed by clicking the little gear on the bottom right hand of the screen. click on the speed section and you can make it slower.

    • @sherit8594
      @sherit8594 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, bobwilson123 is explaining that you can can adjust the speed for any video. On your computer as stated; lower right corner click on the gear * see you can change the quality, speed, etc. As default videos are set to "Normal" speed. On your phone, Click on the upper right corner of the screen 3 Dots. Try 0.75 next slower speed and so on. Hope you find this helpful for this and future Tutitorials 👍👏
