The complexity is absolutely incredible. The mix of metal to flamenco to opera back to flamenco and finish back to metal so smoothly. This is absolutely insane. It’s one of most underrated Queen songs yet one of the most perplex
An amazing song. What is incredible is a dying Freddie Mercury put everything he could into this singing this song in studio. Also read that Freddie was mostly represented in the video as an illustration because the illness had taken such a toll on him.
Steve played the chromatic runs and the (exceptional) flourishes on the flamenco section, but most of the solo was still Brian (both the 'acoustic' and the 'electric' bits).
Steve AND Brian play the flamenco part. Steve played the chromatic runs and the flourishes on the flamenco section, but most of the solo was still Brian (both the 'acoustic' and the 'electric' bits).
This song is amazing but way too underrated in Queen's list of hits! I would like to hear it more often. I feel the same for "Save Me" and "Spread Your Wings". You are so right Dereck on your comments about it.
My vote is on 'Scandal', which is track 8 out of 10 on 'The Miracle'. Sort of like a not-so-subtle and off-the-cuff F. U., because Freddie hated how the tabloid press invaded his privacy. But still a song that seems to sort of have just been "thrown in there". It's a great song on all accounts.
I agree 100 procent with you. This song must be played on my funeral.☺ When we can vote for music list of the year and I never vote on bohemian. Always on Innuendo. More and more people vote for it because they where higher in the list then the past years.
A true masterpiece of (beyond) epic proportions. And every reaction to this song / video is the same - completely mesmerised by the genius, the musical transitions, and the lyrics. And those of us who have lived and breathed Queen for the past 50 years are saying ... "Hell, yeah! Welcome to our world - what took you so long?"
This song is beyond amazing, its depth, its complexity, the chorus, the Red Special, in fact, all the instruments are of course, on point!!! As usual, the boys nailed it big time!! Masters, I tell you! And what to say of Freddie's vocals, so powerful, emotional, clear, so him. To think he was so ill at this point, and still, he delivered those vocals. Whom else but the LEGEND himself??? Queen won several prizes on this video, and yet it's (and the song itself) so underrated. Why? Are people and society in general deaf to real music and meaning? Oh yes, in Portugal it reached no 1. Go Portugal 🇵🇹 Thank you for this one, and keep on doing them, your life will be so much better with Queen on it 😉👏
Very very pleased of your react Dereck. Thank you so much ! So intense, i remenber this time with émotion... this album so unbelievable ! Masterpiece, Queen 💚 Freddie 💚 everlasting diamonds 💚⭐💚
One of my most favourite songs by Queen or anyone else and should be much better known. Great video too. There really were no other band with this kind of output. Absolutely fantastic.
Each member represents a painter here. Roger is Jackson Pollock, Freddie is Leonardo da Vinci, John is Pablo Picasso/Miro, only Brian May I cannot identify whomis the artist he represents
@reserig, I've just heard May described as Victorian etchings. Thanks for posting that, I find it fascinating. Poor John. Unrecognizable with Picasso style...lol
Such a gallant performance by our dear Freddie. He was too sick to make a video, but stepped up, like he always did, to make this another masterpiece. Yes, Brian, John and Roger knocked it out of the park too!!! Can't get enough of Queen. Brilliant in every way. Miss you Freddie. Love Freddie and Queen. Forever
I LOVE the last couple of singles Queen did with Freddie. There is so much dept in every single song.Innuendo, The show must go on, These are the days of our lives and more......simply amazing!!
The best band in history ... I'm a big Queen fan. Queen songs are masterpieces. I recommend the Wembley 86 concert. Look. The best introduction to a concert I have ever watched. Lots of songs you can put on your repertoire of reactions. Here are some suggestions One vision, Tie Your Mother Down, In the Lap of the Gods, Seven Seas of Rhye, Tear It Up, A kind of magic, Under Pressure, Another one bites the dust, Who wants to live forever live version Wembley, I want to break free, love of my live, Hammer to fall, Crazy little thing called love, We are the champions Somebody to love live from Montreal magic, We will rock you live, The show must go on, I want it all, Mother Love the last song Freddie Mercury sang for Queen. Unfortunately, he did not sing it to the end. Very emotional song. The end was sung by Brian May. There are so many songs these are just some that are perhaps most familiar to the audience. So enjoy 😉
One of my current favorite Queen songs!!! As I study more of their catalog I'm more blown away every single day!! I'd have given ALOT to have heard them all together.
This deserves two approves it's like a mini bohemian with so many levels only Queen could do this to us as we listen . Timeless amazing epic and damn I miss Freddie
Freddy is always in my heart ❤️ His voice is so strong and clear ! I listened this album when I'm pregnant for my first daugter so many times. When she borns Freddy voice only made her keeping cool.
That was Freddie’s Mini Bohemian Rhapsody. Innuendo was the final album Freddie did with the band. His voice on the entire album is incredible. The song was credited to Queen, as they began to do since the Miracle album, however, Freddie wrote this song. Please react yo Don’t Try So Hard from the same album.
@@nielshuisman24 Innuendo is the last album with Freddie alive. Made in Heaven is a mix new and old songs. Only three songs are posthumous: You Don’t Fool Me, A Winters Tale, and the last song Freddie recorded (and couldn’t finish): Mother Love. The rest are 80s songs re recorded.
@@axl3d822 I feel Innuendo feels more 'intimate' to Queen fans in a way because the whole woooorld knows Bohemian Rhapsody and has become 'overplayed' (if that's possible for such a classic). So in some ways I wish Innuendo was better appreciated but in others I like that it's more 'our' thing. That make sense? :P
I agree. First of all it's a more mature work, musically, of the band and of each member of the band. Second, the subject matter is meaningful and deep, reflections on life from a person nearing the end of his life. BR seems to be more of a tongue-in-cheek composition, deliberately over-the-top in response to some of the perceived excesses of prog rock, and also a sort of rock recapitulation of a scene from a specific opera. The meaning behind the words (and some gibberish) of BR is not made explicit; and while the full intent behind the structure and composition of Innuendo is also not obvious and requires interpretation, the words themselves are direct and clear. Both are brilliant, unique, and filled with the radically unexpected; but to me, BR seems very youthful, melodramatic, playfully mysterious - like a young person imagining what it would feel like to face death - whereas Innuendo asks the Big Questions, as a mature person actually facing death and confronted with his own mortality. It's not "Mama, I don't want to die," it's "G-d/justice/reason - I wish you would tell me the purpose of the journey I just took and that every human must take, tell me what it all means." It's almost like Bohemian Rhapsody is wearing a mask, and Innuendo is yanking it off.
INNUENDO won the Monitor Award for Best Achievement in Music Video. 🏆🥇 It also won first prize at the American Film & Video Festival. 🥇 Innuendo was a triumphant continuation of the return to Queen’s early 70’s hard rock roots. 🎭
Hello Dereck, masters were at work here.I really like it,when a song is influenced by different influence and that's it.Queen is great.RIP Freddie!!!!!!!😘💝

Awesome reaction! If you like complexity, this was a trademark of Freddie's songs. March of the Black Queen from their second album is often considered the precursor to Bohemian Rhapsody and also has some of this complexity. Please react to it but only after reacting to the video for Bohemian Rhapsody. Although I love seeing them live, the video is considered the first music video and also has the full song. The live versions either cut out the middle section or play the audio and offer a light show because they could not replicate the amazing multi-layered, middle section harmonies. A tragically underrated song, too epic for words. This song is tied with my other two fave Queen songs We Are The Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody I would not be a complete person without them. Much respect.

One of their best, for sure, I love these kinds of complex songs. One that should get more attention than it does is Michael Jacksons History (Album version). No video, unfortunately, but just as epic as Bohemian rhapsody and Innuendo, in my opinion.
Each member of Queen is depicted in an artistic style. Freddie is Leanardo Da Vinci, Brian May is Victorian Etchings, Roger Taylor is Jackson Pollock and John Deacon is Pablo Picasso.
