Thank you I have a john henry belted sofa and east lake settees and other items to much to list. My question is my sofa is burgundy velvet and I wanted to change it to a damask the carvings are very elaborate with an eagle stretched out across the whole sofa. It is in mahogany. Should I choose something plain again or patterned. Thanks again

Hi LoriAnn! Thanks for reaching out! It just depends on your own personal aesthetic! Victorians loved to combine patterned upholstery with patterned walls and patterned rugs - more is more is more! I'd suggest getting a few samples of upholstery that catches your eye - plain and patterned - and lay them out on the sofa. For the next of couple weeks, see what catches your eye as you walk past the sofa. Your heart will tell you what delights it! Hope that helps! Aimee at EuroLuxHome.com

Well done, however, I after Victoria is redundant as to date she is the only monarch to reign with that name.

Victorian style was a hot mess😅. If you love it you love it. Prefer rococo revival from Victorian era.

Yes, if you love it, you love it! Rococo Revival pieces are so pretty - love all the swoops and swirls! In case you haven't seen this video I made about the Louis XV Rococo Revival style, here it is: th-cam.com/video/H2r__L27ToA/w-d-xo.html Best wishes for a happy holiday season!
