HOUSTON TO KILMACOLM 1983

A short silent 8mm film I shot on the very last day of diesel services to Kilmacolm on 8th January 1983, before the line was closed and dismantled permanently. Stations shown are Houston & Crosslee, Bridge Of Weir, and Kilmacolm. Includes one of the final DMU trains leaving Kilmacolm, at the end of the film.

Well that poor line like many closed down too early short sighted thinking to get rid of competition to roads and it would have kept folks in useful employment. it would do a good turn of business today.
