I completely forgot about this new feature until I recruited Karlach for the first time in a new playthrough. The companion you swap out with will make a tiny remark too. My favorite was Astarion whispering almost conspiratorially something along the lines of, "look after them while I'm gone, will you? They're useless without me." 😄
