I'm retired here from US for over 10 years now and I approve your message. These are the top three things like open visa , laid back life style, and affordable living, anyone can live here. Cambodia has come a long way since its civil war officially ended in 1998. Thailand and Vietnam are just hours away if you need to hop on and explore more. Sharing is caring as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Peace our from a genocide survivor 🎉
I love Cambodia, I have good friends there, but food and electricity are way cheaper in Indonesia, the drawback is the visa, which is impossible. Cambodia you pay $300 a year, no problems, you can make a drivers license, freely rent anywhere, open a business if you wish, it's very good, you can live like a human being.

I think it is about 20 - 50% cheaper than Thailand, except for goods imported from Thailand. Example, a Thai drink costs only 20 baths in 7/11 Thailand, may cost $1.2 in Cambodia. If it is locally made, it is cheaper.

Can a foreigner buy land there?…and get a long staying visa with possibly to become permanent resident or even citizen?…if not,that country is not good except for a short visit…something like a week or 2 and get out as fast is possible to a country that is more friendly to foreigners….even if is more expensive.
You can get Cambodian citizens after you have staying 5 years also can write read and speak Cambodian language , after you get Cambodian citizens you can buy the land , otherwise you can buy only second floor up ......

Vietnam is the cheapest and higher quality than Cambodia. The main reason to live in, is the easy visa, just pay and get up to 1year with or without work permit. Not pissible in Vietnam, very expensive in Thailand.
