You Get What You Vote For
Most of these states problems are government corruption or greedy landlords price gouging rent.
Mail in ballots are cheating. Wake up!
Nor a truer thing has ever been said
However, every politician that asks for your vote will tell you exactly what you want to hear, just to get your vote. So I disagree with your statement. Our government leaders are there for one purpose and that is to screw the general public over.

I left New Jersey because of the illegal immigrants and crime
gee vote to raise the taxes and bring the garbage with you its cheaper down south because they do not support the communists
Sure you did, Carmine.
Louisiana biggest job loss issue is the oil business. When the federal government started stopping the offshore oil several companies have left and those high paying jobs have left the state.
That's a big factor in unemployment in Pennsylvania, as well.
You Mean When Biden and The DEMs decided to stop the drilling?
Crime too.
yup. They'll have us all riding bicycles soon. except for the privileged elite of course. Their ridiculous politics of climate change is killing this country.
Also hurricanes are a huge factor. I considered Louisiana, but just cannot risk everything being destroyed.
Moved out of New Jersey. The main reason for us was related to taxes and the unfriendly business environment created by the State.

You can't hardly go out to buy milk in New Joisey without paying a highway toll!
governor assteeth hasn't helped either....
Agree! Perfect choice, my friend!
Did you learn your lesson though or are you still gonna vote Democrat?
We left Pa. in 1989 and moved to North Carolina. I couldn't believe the difference in the cost of living then. It has changed somewhat over the years but is still much better than Pa. Thirty-five years later all three of my kids are thriving with their own homes and decent jobs.
PA's not the best, but also not the worst... They don't tax social security income which is a biggie. Much better taxation-wise than NY/NJ/CT or Mass
stop voting for the communist thats the reason you are better in nc the left wing states are going down hill dont drag carolina down
Eastern PA is super expensive!
Crime in New York and Illinois are significant factors contributing to people leaving.
The populations of Illinois and New York are increasing
@@SBC581 With illegals. The citizens are leaving.
@@SBC581not according to us census bureau
@@EVUptonG2 I stand corrected. If people are leaving, it’s because of the cost of living in the most populated areas. Outside of New York City and Chicago is very different. Illinois is mostly farmland and New York is very sparsely populated and rural (people don’t leave). There are more people living in Chicago and New York City than there are people in every state west of the Mississippi if you exclude California and Texas. Nobody is complaining about a few less people.
I have to ask, who can you really believe? Our government has lied to us from the beginning. For me I do not like when people lie. This is why I choose not to lie. Once you lie, who could I ever just you again?
I lived in NJ for 20 years. I left the state when I joined the military and have not been back since my parents left.
The 3 main reasons I never went back are taxes, corruption and crime.
While in the military I lived in states that displayed the right way tovrun a state and NJ is not even close.

yeah it shows... LA is always at or near the bottom of every list of things like education, health care, income, etc etc.
Sounds like you a southern boy like me..
There is a song that tells you why. A woman wants a 4 bed, 5 bath, 3 car garage to park her cars. She also wants a man to pay for it.
Then there are the smart women.
The song 'Simple man".
My aunt Jenny was one of those that understood simple man.
Because both had the same goal. Simple house, simple life and 9 digits in the bank.
Three children with 100% paid for USEFUL college educations.
Unfortunately the offspring did not understand what dad and mom did and why.
Mom and dad understood 9 was not enough to disregard spending more than you made that year or any other year.
It takes how much to retire now?
@warrenpuckett4203
$10 million per person
For some lucky ones, a union defined-benefit plan helps with retirement planning but the people of the U.S.A. have already largely been shunted off in the Reagan years from union pension plans to corporate executive defined-contribution plans such as 401(k) and various IRA plans.
The problem with these plans is that for most workers, watching the various markets persistently over decades isn't their jobs but corporate executives have this intense watching being their *MAIN* job so they can manage their retirement investments using corporate time.
Thanks for the very interesting reasons for the most "dying" states. I would have guessed most of them. However, Crime wasn't discussed and I believe it is a major factor in a lot of states especially in the northeast and also California and Oregon. People just don't want to live in an area that's unsafe and a lot of states are just not addressing that problem.
Crime in California is far far below what it was back in the 80s and 90s. The hysteria is far overblown. California is hardly dying. Hopefully the population will drop a bit easing the strain on the water supply.
Property crime got worse there chief. @rabbakahn
@@iColHax It is nowhere even remotely close to the levels of the 70s, 80s and 90s. It is still near historic lows even with a very slight uptick. Enough of the hysteria.
@rabbakahn That's not hysteria, that's reality. A reality you helped create. Guess what happens when you get soft on crime policies? You get unreported crime, which makes your numbers look good, but really aren't.
@@iColHax Did you even live through those decades? I did. Enough of your hysterical BS.
We left PA, moved to Florida (20) years ago, and still smiling.

One major thing you're missing in your data is the high rate of violent crime. This is a very significant aspect of people,s safety. Please add to your assement .

Turn cally Red!
The high crime is because of corrupt politicians and judges who refuse to prosecute. They are bought and paid for. But, people still keep voting for the same.
Yes. The crime has gotten really bad lately here in New Mexico in Albuquerque and Las Cruces, the two most populated cities. Not enough police, plus the politicians and judges let the criminals out of jail right away even if they do get arrested.
Many of these violent crimes are being committed by the police themselves. Some states are such bad police states, that those states states losing all their tax revenue. Hard for people to pay taxes when they are all sitting in jail for walking down the street or driving a little too fast because their criminal employers threaten their livelihoods if they are late. The table is rigged boys and girls. The United States is a Federal Corporation and we are all just expendable employees that pay THEM a wage for allowing us the privilege to "work" here. "Welcome to America.... as long as you weren't born here. Otherwise go screw yourself." - The corporate America Motto.
Moved from WA to NC..never regretted my decision. My next door neighbors are from NY & MI.
You want high real estate taxes go to Monroe County New York. $300,000 house $12,000 in real estate taxes. New Yorkers keep electing the same people to run the state and they’re running it into the ground.
Tax rates are determined by LOCAL jurisdictions.

Other than doctors I don't know who makes 79,000 a year in the state of Mississippi, especially when the average at best is $30,000
I've NEVER made more than 400.00 a week, and I busted my back, literally😢, lifting on hospice patients for 34 years.

Your postal workers that have been there for awhile do
I think that $79,000 is for a family income, not one person.

I understand as I've taken care of my elderly relatives nearing and advanced to their deaths. Joint damages were a major negative as they were bedridden. It's ALWAYS a losing battle with the Grim Reaper but they all made it into their nineties.
I'm glad that my Mom heroically took care of my Dad in his last days, though.
Really eye-opening content on the 10 fastest dying states. It helps a lot in understanding where not to move. Thanks!
California should be at the top of the list.
Then there are NY, Oregon & Illinois.
Is there not any city or state that is safe?
@@ronaldross6950 Not any that are currently or recently controlled by woke Democrat socialists.
But it's not.
But it's not.
Never said anything about crime as a reason for leaving.
Can't be racist?
Yep some Democrats are pulling these strings he's afraid to mention crime again it's a bunch of b******* nobody wants to hang around a bunch of Democrats or hillbillies it's as simple as that
Of course they leave that out.
In these places, sometimes meeting criminals is better than meeting police!
I moved out of California in 2019. The main reason for me was the insane political environment which accounts for the high cost of every day items. The day I left, I paid $4.75/gal at Costco, which was the cheapest place.
I moved to Washington state this year which, as bad as the Seattle Metro Democrat control of the state is, is still remarkably better than social dystopias like California, Oregon, NY and Illinois have become.
$4.75 /gal without specifying a gallon of what doesn't provide much context. If it's a gallon of platinum powder I'd say you got a great deal.
Just don’t bring your voting tendencies with you or you ruin everywhere you go.
Mississippi, Louisiana, and West Virginia are Republican. Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Illinois, California, Hawaii, Oregon, & Rhode Island are Democratic. Pennsylvania is split.
The recurring theme of the video, for those who bothered to watch it instead of lying about what’s in it, is about cost of living & its effect on population. It isn’t about crime or politics. The cities are barely mentioned. And the poverty rate is hardly mentioned at all, but it should be: nine of the ten states with the highest poverty rates (that’s percentages to the mathematically illiterate) are Republican. And the one exception isn’t on the lips of the Republican racists because of its low population: New Mexico.
Moral: you can’t learn about what’s in a factual video over 20m by reading the comments. Racist Republican liars make up their comments to suit their agenda, because they’re too lazy to watch it, too stupid to understand it, and too racist and selfish to care. They will tell, repeat, and pretend to believe whatever lie suits their purpose (yes, purpose, singular): concentrating all the power in the white cis straight Christian xenophobic bigoted minority.

Pennsylvania has been steadily losing population since the 1970s. I left in 2017 and moved to Arizona.

Left Minnesota because of politics and high taxes. Missing some public services as not available in Iowa, but got to love the people of Iowa and their attitude. This includes a sensible government.
Yes, Minnesota wants to become the California of the Midwest. I'm looking at South Dakota for land, much better laws, politicians and taxes.
OMG that was funny @ 11:41 #5 New York with a picture of the Stature of Liberty and a banner reading "Pennsylvania". Come one man, you had 1 job lmfao!!!!
The editing is lacking.
Here's what the video doesn't say about Louisiana. You could actually live off the land. Food is plenty if you know where to look. Unless you have experience with storms you might not look here but major tornado outbreaks are hitting half the states in the country. I'll never leave Louisiana. Those who leave are looking for luxuries you'll find elsewhere. People like me would never live anywhere else. Leave and make more room for me and mine.
I’m 100% with you. I love my beautiful little rural East Feliciana parish and I love my Louisiana.
Good on you! I wouldn't leave my beloved New York either. It's not just a city its beautiful mountains oceans and people are not as horrible as people say. I feel as you do. Let the animals recover and less population good for the rest of us.

Left Illinois because of high taxes and government overreach. Gov Pritzger thinks he is the Emperor.
Just like Biden thinks he’s emperor of the United States.
Like all those Daley years.
Don’t forget Crimesha
What government overreach? I live 40 miles west of Chicago and it's still a lot of farmland. My property taxes are $5700 but we made twice as much per hour in Illinois than any red state while working. We are retired now and live very well.
I’m still stuck in JBs empire and cannot wait to leave. Most of my extended family have moved to more favorable states. Quality of life continues to plummet under Pritzker’s rule.
Crime, costs, politics
I'm from Connecticut, born ans bred in New London County. I attended graduated from University of Connecticut and love living here. I was in the Army for 26 years and have been stationed all over the USA, Europe and Asia. When I retired from Army I returned back to Connecticut. I'm totally retired, my house is paid for and i have no bills.
I was born in CT. Still have family there.
Unfortunately, the state has been dying for years. The largest employer is the police especially if you add together State Police, the different County Sheriffs and Town Departments. Next is the Prison System. After that is the healthcare system which is too expensive to for most people to use.
There is almost no industry in CT anymore. Electric Boat being about all that is left and they don’t employ many.
😅Both my parents, who had good jobs, with my Dad having excellent healthcare insurance ended up on Medicaid when they died because the cost of healthcare and healthcare insurance even with Medicare was just too expensive. As a matter of fact, CT is the Insurance Capital of the country with most of the executive making 7 figures.
Dont get me wrong. I loved growing up there but I would want to live there now.
Oh I missed the crime statistics in your rundowns of each state
Your analysis on the worst place to live in America was presented beautifully. The clarity really helped in understanding the critical points!
It seems that the American Dream has quietly packed-up and left as the US Empire crumbles.
"It's called 'The American dream', because you gotta be asleep to believe it." - RIP George Carlin
And *ALL* empires fall. Every Empire ever has fallen or will fall. They get too big to maintain their own mass, and collapse upon themselves like a neutron star. History tells us this with perfect clarity.
@@SithBich- non sense!! First generation immigrants are able to come here and change their life within just one generation meanwhile majority born here choose to struggle.

Born and lived in Connecticut most of my life ( minus my military service ), spent a year overseas, 1 year in New Jersey, 6 months in Maryland, 6 months in Arizona, I found no better state than CT. for raising a family, we have good schools , Entertainment, and a good governor .Taxes are relative but all charts I've seen our taxes run in the center of both extremes. Our kids are grown our son spent 5 years in Austin Texas ( Grad School ), and left Texas because of their weather, and the state decided to close libraries to expand a football stadium, came back to CT, and hasn't left again, he worked in Minnesota, the company had a CT office where he stayed until COVID, he refused the move to Minnesota, but they let him work from home, and they gave him a raise, company went under due to COVID, he got a new position, but he also refused jobs out of Connecticut why ? Family, the 4 seasons, close proximity to NY, Boston, New Haven, parks, good food and music and good money.
AS far as taxing SS, I never had my SS taxed for most it's taxed exempted.
Connecticut exempts from state taxation the same amount of Social Security income that the United States government exempts from the federal income tax - and it may exempt more as well, depending on a filer’s annual income.
The state exempts 100% of federally taxable Social Security income for single filers and married people filing separately whose federal adjusted gross income is below $75,000 a year, and for couples filing jointly with an AGI below $100,000 annually.
Taxpayers whose AGI exceeds those limits qualify for a partial exemption, with no more than 25% of their total Social Security benefits subject to taxation.
Military and Railroad Retirement Pay
Fully exempt from state income tax.
Other taxes have exemption scales also, and the state is lowering more taxes in the coming year.
Housing is our main problem, and we have a few rich towns who won't allow affordable homes even for their own kids.
Connecticut is a good state, glad I live here.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!

As of January 2024, there were 27 Republicans and 23 Democrats holding the office of governor in the states. The list consists of 12 states with 9 having Democratic Governors and 3 southern states with Republican Governors. Southern states are suffering because of federal regulations being forced on them. That is the same reason the Civil War was started (not because of slavery). Northerners don't understand how things operate or cost in the South.
The number #1 main reason people are leaving these states are the people who control them ,change the politicians or should i say people need to vote for the most honest politician who loves the state not try and destroy it and only then will every state will flourish with richness
I was born in Phillipsburg NJ, raised in Washington NJ , lived in Orlando and Daytona Beach FL, lived in THE POCOCOS in N.E. PA and Currently live in a lil town south of Dallas TX. I have many trips between PA and FL as well as between PA and TX stopping along the way to explore the areas in between. I love PA but the Eastern part of PA is depressed and has been for at least the last 35 years but had a huge influx of people from NY and NJ after the 911 event. It wasn't a good thing cause it made a stable poor economy unstable by the local gov trying to accommodate all the new people and raised the taxes. A large portion of the new people would not pay their rent or mortgage till they were evicted then they would move back to where they came from and buy a new house with the money they saved from not paying in PA. When you travel 100 miles westward from the eastern part of the state; the state is mostly the same as it has peen before the 911 event.
Of all the states I have lived in or visited TEXAS is by far the best I have seen in many ways. On PBS they are proud to say, " THE WORST ECONOMY IN TEXAS IS BETTER THAN MOST STATES BEST ECONOMY. ". Believe me... THEY AREN'T JUST WHISTLING DIXIE ! In Tannersville PA it was major news that someone built a rather unimpressive looking million dollar house while in Hurst Texas and MANY other places you can drive along a highway overlooking a sea of million dollar houses in a planned community as far as the eye can see.
There is more work at a fair wage in TX than any place I have ever seen.
Even people from CA come to this state buying multi million dollar houses thinking they are cheap cause the same amount of money in CA gets you a house pr ranch a small fraction of the size as in TX.
Thanks for your wonderful feedback!
Western Pa closer to Midwest values , not much had changed in decades. Cost of living and crime fairly low compared to a it of other places. If you have a decent job it’s a great place to live.

Mississippi is a great place to come to for retirement because of lower costs of living. Cities like Hattiesburg, Biloxi Gulfport Tupelo attracts people in retirement living on a budget. Costs of living is below the national average. What’s holding MS back is because of a state income tax, not a good place to 👀 for a high paying job. If you want to live in a state with no state income tax, consider Florida,Tennessee, or Texas.
my wife and I are actually house shopping in Mississippi right now - we are both retired...
And then the property taxes do you in. That’s a moot point now. They’ll get you one way or another 😂😂
People are not leaving the state of Mississippi. They are leaving the capital "Jackson". Dems have run the city into the ground.
Florida is much better than that.
The roads in Mississippi are phenomenal, well-maintained and not crowded.
Don’t move to Florida. You will find it over-built, very expensive, with horrible traffic. “They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.” (Joni Mitchell) Housing is very expensive, insurance if you can get it, is outrageous. I fully own my home so I am able to be self-insured. Property taxes are confiscatory. I pay over $10k this year for a nice, 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Then there is the heat, humidity, and hurricanes to enjoy for five months. Try North Carolina or S. Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, or Texas. They haven’t been totally destroyed yet.
West Palm and south…densely populated but mid and north Florida are excellent. Prop tax for $400k condos is $1000 or less WITH homestead exemptions
If you file for tax exemption of $ 50,000 you don’t need to complain. My condo tax ( 1200 sq. ft ) is $ 250 a year. How about that.

Don't forget the alligators that residents see in their front and backyards. I am from the panhandle of Florida and the Florida natives are saying to them Don't move here and stay away. The people are moving to Florida panhandle just as much as Central and South Florida.
@@FLPAN1993 Then move to the communists states = California , New York hmmm good luck
Very interesting. I am surprised that crime was not mentioned among the reasons for the exodus.

property taxes killing me
And did it work?
I could never afford to live in a blue state. I'm in a red one now and was concerned when my rent went over 500.
Strange that you're showing pictures of New Orleans when taking about population decline for Mississippi.
Opps, my bad! :))
You are correct about California, not to mention illegal immigrants. When I am retired, I will be moving out of here.
Good we don't need you california just like donald trump depends on undocumented workers to work on his golf coarse they do farm work construction many other jobs then send the money home to mexico. If they weren't here fresh garden products would cost twice as much as they do now. golf would cost more too. the rich used them for gardeners and domestics all over california.
Their state song is: ”California, here I go”.

Ok, as a recent resident of CA, Orange County in particular, we retired and moved out of state. It is simple, the income taxes, property taxes and insurance, not to mention the higher cost of living, are detrimental to the LONG-TERM growth of CA. We lived there for 37 years. Moving on, since whatever political environment in CA, neither Democrats or Republicans can reverse the downfall of what is perhaps the most beautiful state in the country. We would have stayed if these issues mentioned above were being addressed by CA government. I predict staggering budget shortfalls due to the exodus of people like us. It is a tragedy!
left NJ in 2022 and never looked back!
Why don't you mention the crime rate in most of these places. You are trying to be politically correct. If you are not mentioning the real reason your information is not accurate.

FLPAN1993- Palm Beach County was so beautiful when I was just starting out. I-95 didn’t go all the way thru the county yet. My first house cost $50k and there were only 11 County Judges when I became one. Now it’s crazy.
I live in coastal Mississippi. We are growing like crazy down here. Most be the rest of the state lossing people.
People are not leaving the state of Mississippi. They are leaving the capital "Jackson". Dems have run the city into the ground.

Alaska taxes for individuals is zero. Only businesses pay any taxes. Need to check your info there... However, cost of living is higher there than many places due to transportation costs of shipping everything from the Lower 48
We left Illinois last year because of ridiculous taxes and bad laws. Many people stay there only because of family or holdings which they have so much invested in that they can't afford to leave.
This is very much true! The city of Minneapolis, minnesota is the hand out of foodstamps and well - fare checks to give to the poor people of Chicago Illinois. Because I see more Chicago team logos downtown Minneapolis, minnesota. They are always talking about up there well - fare checks and foodstamps to go with the hard time lifestyle. My inspiring wisdom for today. Have a great fabulous wonderful day.😀

I left CT because I could not find employment and my Family was living in FL, so therefore after running out of unemployment compensation, I left the State and moved down to FL which was back in 2012.

The taxes in Oregon are truly excessive. Living conditions are bad now due to the high increase in the homeless population and of course the related crime that goes along with it. Many people would like to leave this place if they could afford too. This is what mail in voting and Democrats will do to any state.
Pennsylvania used to be a big textile, steel, coal, and all kinds of other factories state. When the government restricts anthracite coal and companies out-source everything else to China, people fleeing to look for work is going to happen. Property taxes are outrageous, too. Older people can no longer afford to live in the homes they have paid off, and the government will confiscate their homes in two years and auction the house off if taxes have not been paid.
Move to Nashville, Tennessee. Booming economy. No state income tax. Friendly business environment. Moderate weather with four distinct seasons.
The lack of police presence is concerning. I have been in Nashville 20 years and the rapid growth has also contributed to ridiculous traffic with little infrastructure improvement.
Thanks for watching video!
Left San Fran CA in 1988 and left Chicago area suburbs in 1996...
Now live in Indiana and love it... conservative state and a great place to raise a family. Reasonable taxes too.... I'd never look back !

the reasons we ( 12 person family) left NY was political corruption, cost of living (housing) ,the political dominance of NY city, and Bad laws against the 2nd Amendment

Grew up in MS. Tried to stay. Even moved back and they ran me off.
California should be number 1. High taxes, housing, gasoline, closing businesses, high food, increasing utility bills. Laws for the wealthy (less than 1% of population). A lot of the wealthy leaving this state.
Or New York
California is the state with the largest economy in the United States as well as compared to other continents and states. This state accounts for 1/7 of the country's national defense. In California, there are 5 major working fields to mention: Business, commerce, government services, hotels, education & healthcare. This is where the most Vietnamese people have settled, accounting for more than 40% of the total number of Vietnamese people in the US.
California per capita income: $93,130
