I just saw a commercial about this new livescope or whatever by Garmin., then searched out some videos of this new technology. You did a great demonstration and you obviously have top shelf skill. I remember when I bought my dad one of the first white line chart recorders, he was a legendary Flathead Catfisherman, while I concentrated on my beloved blue water fishing and competition sailing. The fact that there is less than 40 years between these fishfinders says a lot about how fishing and boating technology has made huge leaps in their abilities. Thank you for shearing some of your secrets too... Capt Jim here and am saving this video.... OUT!!!
Hey Mike, Have you ever considered a Coleman propane heater? Coleman quit making them because people were using them in tents and that's fatal but you can buy them any time in eBay (new or used). We have used them for 20 years on the golf course in covered golf carts which allow plenty of safety and I've transferred that use to my boat. They run on a portable 1 pound Coleman propane take - they're PERFECT for helping to keep you warm for those winter days on the water! I'm MOST impressed with your dedication because obviously the cold doesn't keep you away!
MB. Thank you for coming back and teaching us. I have a fancy tritoon with 2 panoptix and a Garmin 40 (I think) 2 each 12 inch touch screens and added a garmin auto pilot. I would LOVE for your team to come out to teach me and show a video of how advanced that system is. I am not paid or sponsored either. I convinced the wife we needed this system before I would put my boat on the Ozarks due to the shallows. Yes, you nailed it, it is like a video game and cheating at fishing. We caught 3 spoon bills in 2 hours and the next day we caught 5 fish in 3 hours a few weeks ago. Thanks to this Garmin system. I would be happy to put you up at our place as well, just to learn. I am at the 84.5 mm, towards Warsaw. We use the screens to catch the fish. Maybe someday we can swap info and share techniques. Just glad to watch your vids again! In exchange, I will show you my technique for catching blue cats. Several plus 36 inch blue cats we have pulled but only if you promise not to post the detailed info! I will also show you how to catch a gar. Excella fish to catch for the thrill. Tastes a little like a channel cat but has the consistency of chicken. Crappie...well you will catch the limit at our dock with the habitats we built and show folks how to make a "fishing pit of death", as we call it. Hope to hear from you and keep the vids rolling Sir!
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
@Landen Dominick i really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Loved your video Mike. Thank you for sharing details related to you gear, rigging and especially nice work sharing safety first message. I’ll be buying that coat...and a Garmin Live Scope👍🏻
Glad to see your back Mike, great video in a short amount of time, caught a nice mess of fish. I haven't been crappie fishing in quite a while, your videos has me in the mood to get out on our lake and fish, we are at Norfork Lake. keep them coming Mike, really enjoy them.
Been seeing those Garmins in action on the ice north of you, they are exactly what you said: a game-changer. Enjoyed the video Mike, glad to see you're still above terra firma! Keep 'em coming!
Finally a video - I have missed your video's - they have a lot of useful content - hopefully your plate won't be so full and you can crank out a few more in the near future. Awesome video Mike!!!!
Welcome back. I think I can speak for a bunch of others when I say. Been missing your videos. Seriously thought something had happened to you. Again welcome back and thanks for the update and video
Thanks, Mike. You move around pretty good, I feel stiff and move around slower but I’m pretty much over weight. But I feel a little better since I been exercising and eating healthy lately. Good blessings!
Thanks for showing your unit being used in shallow water, makes me want to trade my HBirds. Enjoyed your video even though i don't spider rig i love the thump.
I just through watching that 2019 video of you spider rigging those Crappie! You probably just single pole'em these days , but you found livescope before a whole lots of people and took good advantage from it. I've seen some of your other videos on Ozark lake too. The one where you were shooting docks in the cold weather too. Looks like you know what you're doing on Ozark lake. I live down here in Olive Branch, Ms. and I've just started fishing Arkabutla lake and Sardis Lake , Grenada Lake with livescope. In fact yesterday ,My son and I bought a new Garmin Echomap ultra 126SV and we're going to rig it out on our Alweld 18/60 stick steering boat from Andalusia , Ala. w/70 hp Yamaha and 24volt Minnkotoa ulterra with auto everything on it this weekend. Mike , I'm 77 years old and retired so if you're ever down this way , give me a shout and I'll meet you at one of these lakes with my 32 ft Jayco Designer 5th wheel camper and we can enjoy a couple a days staying in my camper and fishing on the lake. Give me a heads up and I'll make a reservation at the corp of Engineers campground near the lake we're going to fish . It only costs me $10 bucks a night. Almost like camping free. Keepmaking those good videos, Thanks, Jerry Surratt
I enjoyed the video 😊. I really liked the Garmin Livescope footage. I have a Garmin Echomap 73sv and a 93sv but haven't bought the Livescope transducer yet. It's on my wish list.
Great video! I've had my livescope about a month now. Our crappie are about to spawn here in south texas. The livescope works great for catching catfish also. I've done found that out. I can't wait to get it back on the water. I'm thinking the states may need to lower the limits with these things. It's so easy to go find them. Saves valuable time searching.
This was the 2nd year with livescope. Glad you showed just because you find them doesn't mean there biting. Spent alot of time on trying to make them bite when you should move on. That livescope don't put them in the boat. Definitely helps. You get to where you think cause you see them you can catch all. Not so.
Always enjoy your vids and glad to see your back! That's an awesome setup you have! I've been waiting for humminbirds version to come out but after seeing this, I'm not sure I can wait!
I always carry a complete change of clothing in the winter including a coat and footwear. I went in at 40 degree water with 34 degree air once and was glad I had them.
Another great video Mike! Gonna bring my son down to LOZ in April. Not sure if we’ll be cat fishing or crappie fishing. Gonna load up the boat and see what happens. Would love to meet ya and maybe hook up to fish for a day if it fits your schedule.
