    You're absolutely right about the tuner. To be precise, according to my tests, if you feed for example 110 Hz into the tuner of Ampero Mini, and start to increase frq, the first sign the tuner shows that signal is going out of tune of A comes as late as at 110.315 Hz. And 5 cents up from 110 Hz is 110.3181517 Hz. So normal musician's ears tell much much sooner if the note is in pitch or not than this tuner. And it is totally useless for example in fine tuning guitar bridge saddle compensation etc.
    Another con is latency. I tested latency using pulse from signal gen and measuring latency using two channel oscilloscope. Without any effects on the latency seemed to be around 5.6 ms. That fortunately was hardly noticeable. But when I turned cab sim on, latency seemed to double or even a bit more from that. Unfortunately it is clearly noticable, especially when turning cab sim on and off during playing. And too much to my ears. For example if I play at low volume and strum guitar fast so that you can simultaneously hear both acoustic sound from guitar and amplified sound with that 10-12 ms latency of the digital multieffect with no parallel no-latency analog dry signal (+ the latency caused by quite low speed of sound if speaker is not very close to you), the acoustic/motoric connection between the sound and your hands and brain is disturbed in a very unpleasant way. It really is annoying. So if you want to use cab simulation a lot, consider buying some other product.
    One problem, (BTW almost exactly similar problem I noticed while testing a cheap Joyo looper a while ago) is that at very low input signal levels when input signal slowly fades away, the AD converter (?) creates some kind of pumping hiss/distortion which is quite annoying. However in case of Mini seems that that unwanted effect can be somewhat tacled by increasing input gain to +10 dB (which was not possible in case of that Joyo looper).
    The spring reverb effect of Mini is just, well, ridiculous. I mean really. It sounds like a stupid bathroom echo. Doesn't resemble the real spring reverbs at all. No drip, no touch sensitivity, no sound if springs at all. No nothing. And I have built, repaired and modded numerous spring reverbs and many different driver and reverb recovery circuits and tanks during four decades. I have even had an AKG BX20E studio spring reverb in my kitchen for many years! 😂
    P.S. All test were done using latest firmware available, and I suppose it will be the last firmware for this device as well. 😂

    Yesss! Glad you liked it! Couple this thing with a good power amp and a cab and you’re set! Very simple fly rig.

    The Ampero 2 (stomp and stage) is definitely an improvement in quality of tones over this, but this has got to be the best bang for modeller buck there is. No doubt.

    It does look and sound great for something that looks like it’d be something on the TARDIS, I think it’d kill as a travel rig modeller (I use the MX5 and have no problems with it). Great video as usual!

    Thanks for this very informative and pleasent, very nice sounds and clear explanations . The Ampero mini has few Bass amps sims and IR so it can also be a very good bass preamp + tuner. I play guitar in a band and I have the first Ampero, it gives me all I need, Tuner, preamp, effects, IR Loader, XLR DI out, my 3 presets Rythm, Lead, Clean That's it !
    Thanks again for the review !

    I was browsing around tonight for a small gizmo that might replace my Zoom MS-70CDR Plus. The Zoom is super small, just a standard guitar stomp pedal size and has tons of nice effects and stuff in it. I only need fx, no amp models. So was hesitant at first as the Zoom is doing everything I need FX-wise but when I saw that EXP Out that was that! Bought one right on the spot!! Wow!! VERY impressive little thing. Can't wait to get it 😁 Great video!! Thanks

    The cab sims will work fine if you use the HP and LP filters. Don't be afraid to hp as far down as 3-5k but thew IR loader is nice to have too. I still prefer using a real amp but good for headphone rehearsals.

    I just got this…and it’s very hard to find anything wrong lol! I’m simple I setup a patch with and without an amp sim so I can use it direct or with an amp. I only use it as a reverb and delay if I’m using an amp. I get my dirt with a jhs Andy Timmons. This unit is great!!! Worth the money!

    • @GuitarCinemaOfficial
      @GuitarCinemaOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on budget my friend, Ampero MINI is cheapest but very capable. Headrush Core is basically a semi-professional modeller with more advanced signal routing. Amp Cloning etc etc. Any of the 3 would serve you well but my advice is to figure out your priorities and spend accordingly!

    The thing with Hotone why I‘m struggling to buy the new Stage2 is because they don‘t seem to really work on updates, they make promises for the Stomp2 for spillover and snapshots but never deliver.

    Does anyone know how well the Ampero mini will take other pedals into it without an effects loop? I am looking to add a small multi-effects pedal after my high gain, and boost pedals on my backup pedalboard. I just want to add an eq after my dirt pedals, and create a lead channel with a bit of delay, reverb, and volume boost without having to add 4-5 more pedals to my board. I'm leaning towards the Line 6 HX One cause it has an effects loops, but the screen sucks, LOL, and I really like the touch screen on the Ampero. And the Ampero is almost $100 cheaper. Thanks \m/
