Hello Completionist! Thank you for playing this underrated gem. I just wanted to let you know that the HADOUKEN is in this game, NINE TAILS uses the Shinku Hadouken on YOU😅
@@krisisgod666 Yup! Not only that, but all of Default/Black Armor Zero's Command Trigger inputs are shoto inputs. Zero Slash is supposed to be the Hadoken, Zero Breakthrough is Tatsu, Zero Dragon Slash is Shoryuken. Then there are also two hidden commands that I didn't even know existed until I just checked now. Zero Wave Slash is Ryu's 'stronger' Hadoken input. He also Zero Skull Crush, but...I don't recognize that input at all.
This game is in my top 10 favorite games of all time. The song playing during the intro is Standby, Zero. I can name almost any song in the soundtrack, and if I can't name it I can at least tell you where it plays, it was a huge part of my childhood and I really wish more people appreciated it for what it is not for what it isn't
I'm flabbergasted Jirard had a chapter titled "Where's the hadouken" and not even mention that the last super boss Ninetails has a hadouken attack that hits all the party. When you finally defeat the last one Axl can transform into it for a special attack... THAT ISN'T THE HADOUKEN. Yes, I am still salty over this.
I didnt get far into even chapter 1. But huge pluses for me with command mission. X's new design, no sigma, and the main reason this game caught my eye in the first place.... It's the game where mark gatha and lucas gilbertson started voicing X and zero respectively.
Holy shit you're right, he doesn't show up once! I guess because it's so far into the future that maybe he's just gone for good for real this time no cap? idk. I ASSUME it's farther due to X's unique design as well as the date. (22xx instead of 21xx)
Honestly that section heading describes the entire game. "This shouldn't work, but here we are." Love this game, and I expected the Finish It rating considering how grindy it is to do everything. For what it's worth, you didn't miss out on much by playing the PS2 version since the Gamecube version just adds additional tokens and additional figures. That's it.
This is an absurdly underrated RPG. It’s simple, sure, but the gameplay is satisfying, the music is high tier, and the super bosses are interesting in challenge, without having a wall via hours of grinding like the final fantasy games of the era.
Rewatching this(it's in a playlist for a game I want to make) and remembering the bit of gameplay I saw of it as a kid on GC. Was the only megaman game I saw gameplay of as a kid, and besides a mobile game I played some of last year, was the only megaman game I saw gameplay of till this year. Still a little shocked that this isn't the standard for megaman games, as this is what I've imagined them to be like for well over a decade now.
I love this game so much, I still have the GameCube game disk, and sometimes play it to this day, I love the ost, it’s one of my favorite rpg games, and the transformations are hype as hell for x and zero, not to mention the bosses, just a super underrated game in general!!
I love this game. I remember I would complete a run of this game and when I started a new file, I would always accidently save over my completed run. Then I would just play the game all over again so I would have a completed save file
I enjoy occasionally popping this game out of my collection and playing for a good while. Either messing around against the optional bosses (i always have a save before these fun challenges in any RPG) or doing some more grinding on my main file, or even doing a fresh run
Btw quick hint, on the ps2 version of the game there's a cross game save bonus for MegaMan X8 where having save data from this will unlock a special miniboss in Optic Sunflowers stage.
I had a blast beating this game back in 2013! Massimo is pretty much my favourite Mega Man X character! I would love if they made a sequel with the same characters
Just want to throw out that I've been watching you're videos for the better half of a decade now, through all the ups and downs, and I have always loved your show. It's been amazing going on this long ride of gaming with you, Jirard and Co. You guys and your show will always hold a close place in my heart. Can't wait for more episodes!
THANK YOU for giving this game some of the attention it deserves. Have to say it's weird to see actual walking in this footage. I always boosted everywhere haha
I would love for this game to get an HD rerelease sometime in the future, I wouldn't be lying if I said this game was what got me into the RPG genre, I remember beating Ninetails and the other secret bosses without any help, it was one of my best RPG memories
MANNN I loved this game! Always wished they did something like this again but with improvements. Spent a ton of hours clearing this game and fighting Rafflessia and NineTails. The concept art collectibles in the sky room was super inspirational to me back in highschool playin on my gamecube.
haha ahhh man, yeh, I remember doing the Forest routes to get everything....good times. Damn, Capcom.... c'mon, your MegaManX fans been starving for so long....
Years ago in league of legends, I asked you if you could finish this game and see what you think. It has been a long time coming but thank you so much for finishing this and letting me join you for a walk down memory lane.
This is my outright favorite RPG. I'd argue it has the best music in the series. Beating Nine Tails at the end literally took me years. Beat him at my friends and it's been a core memory ever since.
The Gamecube wasn't exactly known for its mighty RPG library, but of what little there is Command Mission is one of the hidden gems for sure. I'd go as far as putting it in the top 3. Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Skies of Arcadia being the other competitors. It's kinda curious that everyone that played the game seems to have an overall pretty positive attitude towards it, yet you see it barely ever discussed. And that goes double considering it was released between the utterly abysmal X7 and the painfully mediocre X8, so it's not like there was much strong competition at the time.
I believe X Command Mission takes place after X8 and is set in 22XX. but is set in a different timeline from the main canon timeline because the Megaman Zero series also takes place in 22XX Please correct me if I'm wrong
This is my favorite Mega Man game. I enjoyed many hours of it in high school. I 100% completed it when I was much younger than I am today. I think the themes for the bosses are totally awesome.
I remember getting this game from Blockbuster and had such a hard time getting past the boss fight where they all team up near the beginning. I never ended up finishing it but I’m so excited to emulate it and finally play it for real. I had no idea how to play RPGs at the time😂
The memories of losing skin on my palm to max out Cinnamon's action trigger each time I used it came flooding back when I saw the notif for this. Good times
Played this game as a kid and got pretty far, then my brother asked me to help him with a boss and I saved his file over mine. Traumatized, I haven't revisited the game since, but I'd love to finally beat this game one day!
I adore this game and just seeing a thumbnail featuring it made me really happy. I hope this video introduces this fantastic game to a bunch of new people so they can at least see the dope Action Trigger system for themselves.
I have been trying to remember the name of this game for years! Excellent episode as always Jirard! Also I am very excited about the Four Sword Adventures episode in the future!
THANK. PH*CKING. GOD. I'm...just so grateful you took time out of your obviously busy life and schedule to give this the time of day at least. Thank you so much. It is very appreciated. I've been a bit of a fan for a while and tune in every now and again. Worth it.
I love this game despite its flaws and I really hope we get a sequel! Though one thing this game needs if it's ever re-released is a turbo button. Grinding is way too slow, even for a turn based game.
To answer the question posed in the video, yes, it is canon but it's a different timeline branch that is 100 years after (roughly when the Zero series is supposed to happen when compared to the main timeline). The only thing brought over to the mainline games are the force metals. I really like Massimo. Favorite side character in this game. Practically a Mazinger-Z/Great Mazinger reference.
I remember loving this game as a kid and feeling it was underrated. Back in the day, it felt that only me and my friend played this game because everyone else would play Pokemon or Zelda. So, thank you for showcasing it and bringing awareness to the game. Hopefully, this will lead others to play it and maybe nudge Capcom into either making the sequel (my biggest gaming wish) or a modern remaster or remake. Thank you again for making this video and brightening my day :)
What are you talking about? The GC version is very accessible, excluding dolphin you can easily run it off an SD or USB on either a soft modded Gamecube, a soft modded Wii, or a soft modded Wii U, even use a DS4 as controller or the Wii U gamepad.
I had a good feeling about this game leading up to its release and I wasn't disappointed at all. Before I lost my data I 100% this game and still returned it. A friend of mine never knew of Command Mission until I told him about it last week
Talking about Gamecube RPGs, I would love to see Skies of Arcadia: Legends completed. I know it's a massive order (lol pinging the sky map) but that's one of my favorite games of all time.
since this was the ps2 version, im slightly supprised that it was not mentioned that in this game, you could unlock a demo for megaman X8 aswell for a small additional thing to play as a part of command missions content package. i looooved this games story and still have my coppy and revisit it from time to time
I played this back in the day too, my biggest takeaway from back then was "why the heck would you name your two big factions "the revolution" and "the resistance"
Wow... didn't expect a Completionist video to have SO MUCH FALSE INFO, lol.... I'll just list some stuff for ya: - Where's the Hadouken? = Ninetails HAS IT. - Absolute Zero has fighting game inputs??? = NO, that's Black Zero's gimmick. Absolute Zero is simple quicktime events. - Supposedly you need to level up specific characters for certain bosses? = Until you realize that ALL characters level up together, even if never used. - Axl best character? = HOW? Ninetails transform literally does exactly 8991 DMG every time if not blocked. That's hardy a one-shot to anything! - Beating Ninetails requireing at least Level 70??? = My dude... i beat him at 38 and completed the entire game at Level 41. - Ultimate Armor and Absolute Zero are ENDGAME? = Uhhh NO, you can literally get them as soon as you unlock teleporting to the locations, provided you got the keys, WAY before even reching chapter 9. - You need to strategically send your robots on missions which are limited? = Also false. Maxed them all out by just buildng random teams over and over, no brains required. Sooo... what happened here? This review feels like Jirard hasn't actually played the game himself. FYI: I played this game AFTER this review was uploaded, but didn't watch the review until AFTER finishing the game (cause i didn't want the spoilers). Also didn't look up a wiki or anything even once as the game is very simple to be honest.
I love X Command Mission. Great 3D models of classic X enemies, fun story and is pretty simple aside from the difficulty spikes. I can't agree with Jiard however for saying it has the weakest X OST when this video pulls out banger after banger. All of the battle tracks and character music is fantastic. To each their own.
Hey Completionist! If you liked Megaman X, you should see about finishing 20XX. The storyline and unlockables really aren't that bad, but the achievements are pretty bonkers.
This was not only my first Megaman game but also my first Gamecube game so I'm glad to see it get a spotlight after so many years of people deriding it.
so, As a kid I always had nintendo and my friends had all the other systems. Command Mission was the first JRPG that I could really get as a kid with NES, SNES, N64, and Game cube. This game is awesome! Glad to see you do a video on this!
Would definitely say that having the physical players guide (wish these were still being made for current rpg games) made getting everything a lot easier.
Fun fact: Like 90% of the voice talent in X Command Mission are Gundam voice actors. X is Domon Kasshu from G Gundam, Spider is Patimus Scirocco from Zeta Gundam and several minor roles in G Gundam, Massimo is Bask Om from Zeta Gundam, Marino is Allenby Beardsley from G Gundam, Chief R is half of the random minor Titan's pilots including Kacricon Cacooler in Zeta Gundam, Nana is Fa Yuiry from Zeta, Epsilon is 11 different characters from G Gundam including Master Asia as well as Captain Henken in Zeta Gundam, Scarface is the terrifying Yazan Gable in Zeta Gundam (But also Oolong in Dragon Ball lol), I could go on for a while
I love hearing Jirard talk about games because he looks at games for their best instead looking for the negative and I find that so awesome he will say if a game is bad but most of the time he breaks the game down and lets me know if I will like the game and if it does it get me pumped for games.
I loved this game! My main end game teams always had Zero and Cinnamon on them, with the third either being X or Marino, because her quicksilver would let me heal up my party and do decent damage. I never really liked using Axl because he was really slow to use during final strikes. But yeah, Zero with the red lotus saber, two heat hazes, and the supra force metal Beta made him an absolute beast whenever I went back to replay chapter 10, which I did a lot because it was the best way to level up for completions sake. "Executive Battle" is one of my favorite tracks too.
My first ever Mega Man X game… 😊 I’m honestly surprised how much nice things you had to say about it! I’ve always accepted that it was too vanilla next to every other JRPGs after rediscovering it and reading how everyone else felt about it. 😯
I think it would be more accurate to say it takes place in a branching timeline. I have the Maverick Hunter's Field Guide and it refers to the events of Command Mission while the only mention of the Zero series are two classified "theoretical" designs (Zero's new body and Cyber-Elf X).
Never knew this existed. Nifty! There really ought to be a tactical RPG with exploration elements for Mega Man X in the vein of Mario + Rabbids. X and Zero blasting baddies would make a lot more sense than Mario with a Mega Buster…and yet, here we are, in this strange timeline. All good, though!
I tried playing this a few years ago and the 1st half of the desert level when you're trying to find your way into the secret base absolutely killed my motivation to play any further. What I did play was pretty cool though
This is unreal to see him completeing this game. All I know before watching this is that he did not have it easy with stuff like MK lll or dealing with the golden beebot.

I always wondered why this game wasn’t on the legacy collection because for a spin off it was really well liked
so do I
Because it's a different genre and most of the fans probably just wanted the basic games.
Considerng the Megaman GBA titles and this, Capcom may likely pursue another collection with these in the next 10 or so years
Although its a spin off, this is the last game before the wars in the timeline.
They even include characters from Command Mission into the Megaman mobile game.

While I also found the music repetitive, I loved the music so much.
Whenever I hear Mark Gatha as X in this game, I imagine him saying "BURNING FINGER" when he does his EX-Armor special attack!
Would definitely say that having the physical players guide (wish these were still being made for current rpg games) made getting everything a lot easier.
I wondered why they didn’t do a second one it was great
Fun fact: Like 90% of the voice talent in X Command Mission are Gundam voice actors.
X is Domon Kasshu from G Gundam, Spider is Patimus Scirocco from Zeta Gundam and several minor roles in G Gundam, Massimo is Bask Om from Zeta Gundam, Marino is Allenby Beardsley from G Gundam, Chief R is half of the random minor Titan's pilots including Kacricon Cacooler in Zeta Gundam, Nana is Fa Yuiry from Zeta, Epsilon is 11 different characters from G Gundam including Master Asia as well as Captain Henken in Zeta Gundam, Scarface is the terrifying Yazan Gable in Zeta Gundam (But also Oolong in Dragon Ball lol), I could go on for a while
Just getting into X series now was wondering how they compare to the zero series.
I love hearing Jirard talk about games because he looks at games for their best instead looking for the negative and I find that so awesome he will say if a game is bad but most of the time he breaks the game down and lets me know if I will like the game and if it does it get me pumped for games.
one of my all time fav games
I loved this game! My main end game teams always had Zero and Cinnamon on them, with the third either being X or Marino, because her quicksilver would let me heal up my party and do decent damage. I never really liked using Axl because he was really slow to use during final strikes. But yeah, Zero with the red lotus saber, two heat hazes, and the supra force metal Beta made him an absolute beast whenever I went back to replay chapter 10, which I did a lot because it was the best way to level up for completions sake. "Executive Battle" is one of my favorite tracks too.
NO WAY YOU DID THIS GAME
Lots of memories grinding this game out with my brother. Amazing game imo.
My first ever Mega Man X game… 😊
I’m honestly surprised how much nice things you had to say about it! I’ve always accepted that it was too vanilla next to every other JRPGs after rediscovering it and reading how everyone else felt about it. 😯
The turn order that also shows the HP is just genius and wonderfully designed.
I think it would be more accurate to say it takes place in a branching timeline. I have the Maverick Hunter's Field Guide and it refers to the events of Command Mission while the only mention of the Zero series are two classified "theoretical" designs (Zero's new body and Cyber-Elf X).
Yes!!! Command mission needs more love!
The Hadouken is one of Zero’s inputs on his command arts. He doesn’t do the move but the input is the same. So the Easter egg is there 😊
My first playthrough I fell in love with Spider. He was my go-to and I gave him all my bonuses and equipment. So when he died I cried.
