None of the Reviews I’ve seen so far to go over the detail in Phone placement on the controller, it’s quietly one of the trickiest parts to this product and would be a godsend.
I love your reviews and your cheerful attitude, and “ how do you like my shirt today folks is priceless “ your channel is the reason I’ve been hooked on drones. Great work…😀
Really enjoyed your review and complete flight demo!! I own a HS700E and happen to agree on all points that you made. This thing is built like a tank, so that feature by itself makes this a great beginner drone. I've been piloting for awhile and love the photographic properties of this drone.
I'm so glad that you mentioned that it flies slow. I bought one and expected it to be sporty and a bit quick, but it's not. I'm not complaining because I bought it mainly for photography and I want slow and stable, which this 700E is, but I was surprised that it just wouldn't be fast and sporty in any setting I could find. Glad to hear it's not just the one that I have.
You can make it more sporty by a quick press of the right shoulder button on the controller. It cycles back and forth through beginner and sport mode. I really didn't have a chance to demonstrate it in the above video. But in sport mode the video is not as smooth.
I have this exact drone but found that it only connects to GPS satellites about 5% of the time. I've tried open fields just like the ones in your video. I've tried different times during the day and even when there is plenty of GPS coverage overhead. When the GPS works, it's super easy to fly..... That's when it works....
I've got the 720E love it, Their customer service is GREAT. For the money its good. I have a Fimi X8 SE 2020 yes its a higher cost drone but its got a couple of issues. I won't talk about there customer service. Don't get me wrong I like my X8 also. But Holy Stone customer service is good...
Dude, excellent video! I'm trying to decide between this one and the HS720. This really explains the capabilities of the 700. Really nice work on this!
I was considering purchasing this done (I do not own one nor ever flew one) and I watched your excellent review. I did buy this and it is being delivered today. Thank you for the video.
Damn I bought the drone before watching this. I realized my mistake in not researching prior to buying but luckily looks like it'll be a solid starter drone!
I wonder what the payload capacity is. Maybe a small amateur radio hauled to the top of a building/water tower/smoke stack and dropped off (solar powered).
6:30 I only need 1080 , good enough for me , but does it really record in 60fps, many make that claim but are fudging and they do not film at 60fps. What about this one? 60fps means you can really slow things down frame by frame and and get super detailed slow mo action, like filming a bursting liter of soda, video speed/quality capable of filming droplets midair.
The problem with all these economy beginner UAVs is that very shortly, DJI is going to release the "Mini SE", with a $249 price ($299 for the fly more version with 3 batteries). Once the "800 lb. gorillla" enters this market, most of these 'wanna-bees' will be more or less doomed ... unless they cut their prices in half (this one, at $329 would not be a good deal, given the DJI competition). Walmart has already had some 'leaks' of the DJI Mini SE ... so its release is imminent. Given the specs of the DJI Mini SE (a < 250G UAV), none of these low cost beginner UAVs will be viable options (imho). As for "Advanced Flight Control" features ... none of these cheap UAVs will be able to match existing DJI APP/Firmware technology (which runs on both Android & Apple devices). If I were in the market for a low priced UAV, I'd wait.
Possibly, but on the left antenna only. The right antenna is fake (decoration only). But if used, it would only increase the control range of the controller. But it would not increase the FPV video range.
You also require a license to fly this drone in most countries as it's above 250g. I'm not sure what you're comparing the customer service to, but I have one of the other drones you are talking about and customer service is beyond par.

i'm a home inspector and i'm considering this for roof inspections. i would need to get a very accurate view of the roof and up close pics of any defects. How do you think this would do?
It should provide good detail, especially if you're recording in 4K. Best would be to take 4K photos, and then zoom in on defects. I use my drones to check my gutters every fall.
I live in the desert without cell or wifi. I do go into town once a week and use buddy's internet. I bought a DJI which always wanted internet login to work normally and not limp mode. Are the Holy Stones the same way? I can handle a one time setup and app download, but not every time I want to fly. Thanks and love your vid!
No internet is required, but a phone with 802.11ac WiFi capability is required. There is no internet connection with this WiFi signal. The drone's video is transmitted to your phone using this unconnected WiFi signal.
Witch is the better drone for first time flyers the HS 720E or the HS 700E and can either one be flown out of my back yard or is a open field better Thank You
Both are too large for backyard flight. In regards to choosing, you might want to instead consider the upgraded 720G. It has both EIS and a stabilized gimbal for greatly improved and stable video. th-cam.com/video/Ebye4Y4Kr5E/w-d-xo.html
I'm confused, does the drone require 5G (802.11 ac) capability to operate or is the 5G for the video only? Will the camera record a lower resolution such as 720? If it's required to operate the drone then the HS700E wouldn't work for me.
You can fly the drone using the controller only. You can also record video and photos to its onboard memory card using the controller to activate the recording. However, without your phone, you will not be able to view the real time video from the drone while it's in the air. You will also not be able to use the advanced flight features of follow me, circle position, and waypoints without your phone. Now don't confuse 5G phone data networks with 802.11ac WiFi. They are two different things. Although your phone may not be a 5G capable phone, it may still have 802.11ac WiFi. To find out if your phone has this WiFi, simply do a google search of your phone's name, along with the terms "802.11" and "specifications". Then see if 802.11ac shows up in the search results.

US shipping but China service is not better than China shipping if it does work. Done with Holystone.
@Quadcopter101 if you read the second part of my comment it states what the problem is. Hours of trying to get Holystone to send this 5 cent part and still no help.
And you mention mismatched prop holder. Just wanted to make sure that you are aware that the direction of attachment alternates with each prop holder. There are two holders designed to attach the two clockwise turning propellers, and two holders designed to attach the two counter-clockwise holding propellers. The idea of the two CW and two CCW propellers is to counter the torque from the propellers. A CW propeller will not attach to a CCW prop holder. The same for a CCW propeller and CW prop holder. You should have two spare CW propellers, and two spare CCW propellers. Try a different shaped propeller if it's not attaching to the prop holder.
Well if you don't like your money then give it to holy stone. And tou too can receive a piece of trash in the mail. I flew this thing 5 times and it no longer has a functioning wifi that your phone can connect to. Reducing my purchase to garbage.
Am I the only one who got one and it is pure hot garbage? I see all these videos of people with this drone having a great time. Mine won't hover in place it wanders at a pretty good pace. There is a 2 almost 3 second delay from control input to actually doing the command. Because of that, it flew into a wall as I was holding the opposit direction, it slowed down, just not fast enough because of the controller delay. The delay is also in the camera as well, so you can't use the camera to navigate as it's 3 second behind. One set of props already broken and the drone is scuffed to hell. FLEW IT ONCE, IT WANTED TO COMMIT SUICIDE! PURE HOT GARBAGE OF A DRONE!
You're not flying it indoors, are you? That's very dangerous with this big drone. This drone should only be flown outdoors in an open field away from trees and buildings which may interfere with its satellite signals. Next, have you properly completed the compass calibration as shown in the video. It's very important, especially if you notice the drone wandering. Finally, how many satellites were you receiving before you took off (that big number on the bottom of your LCD screen). It's important to be receiving at least 9 satellites before taking off. For improved stability, wait until its at least 11 (I was flying with 19 satellites in this video).
Finally, try a different phone to improve the FPV video delay. The app is very processor intensive, and older phones may have problems with it (causing hiccups and delays).
@@Quadcopter101 Tried in a parking lot and the phone I used was a Fold. The signal seemed a bit better when not using the phone on the controller. I just can't steady the hover and it loses altitude when it flies forward. I'm thinking it may be defective.

What brand holy shit oh sorry holy stone

Congratulations. You were first to say First. You win a shoutout in a future QC101 video. Again, congratulations!
Yo
made by DEERC for Holystone.
You sure it's not MJX?
DeeRC is just an importer ;)
