Thought I recognized the Kaimais in the thumbnail - turns out I even guessed the track right! Love te whare okioki. Have yet to visit Mangamuka. Thanks for the great video, hope you enjoyed your time tramping up here in the north!
Great video Kev. Well worth upping to a higher resolution if you can - we're missing so much detail of that magnificent bush you passed through. I'm UK based but returning to NZ December. I've never been to this area but will definitely make a point of exploring the Kaimai. Is there reasonable parking where you started? The North-South track looks very appealing but it's just the logistics would be a concern - how to get back to the car. Thanks for inspiring me to visit this area!
Thanks, Jeff. I hope you get to the Kaimai's on return to experience them in person. Appreciate heads up re the resolution. I might have to upgrade my video editing software.
Another great video Kev. Did you need to use your topo map or was the track easy enough to follow? It's basically in my back yard and looks to be worth a stroll.
Hi Francis, The track is easy enough to follow without the topomap app, but I always like to have the app so I can see how far I have come (or got to go).
Very nice bush and love the old hut! Thanks for sharing
Thanks, David. It's a great wee hut.

Awesome Kev. The bush colours look great on your video. Hope you enjoyed your time in the Kaimai
Thanks, Revilo. I loved the Kaimai's. Hopefully, I will get to see some more of them in the future.
Thanks. It was fun to watch :)
You got my subscription!
Thanks, Emma. Pleased that you enjoyed it.
I thought that was manganuka hut it the thumbnail! Nice to see you exploring the kaimais!
No sheep on the way up like you had, though BCK, just a few cows.
love seeing the huts....nice work!
Thanks, Jonny.

Thought I recognized the hut, you're in our hood, it's one of the "Forgotten Five" I did a series on them. The 360 works well, thanks.
I watched your forgotten five videos. Great watch. The 360 camera makes it a bit easier to film when you're by yourself.
@@samandkevsoutdooradventures Open for a hike together if you’re ever in the hood again 👋
Where exactly are you based Dave - Hamilton area?
@@samandkevsoutdooradventures mainly yes
Wet and lush. Hope those are waterproof boots. No fun sloshing around with wet feet.
The boots used to be waterproof, Connie, but they've done a few miles and now have what I think is described as "good indoor outdoor flow."
Another great video Kev.

@@samandkevsoutdooradventures cool, Thank you for that.
Good tramp, I'm from up there. Down south now. Nicer bush to hunt up there I think, but won't be going back
Bush certainly looks a bit different to down south.
