Great to see another video Sam.
You guys certainly find some interesting places/tracks.
Doesn't need to be a "Great Walk" to be great walk.
    Thank you.

Totally agree. There are many interesting and underrated areas to explore and many that people don’t know much about.

Cool, random adventure. Thanks for the idea. I'll put that one on my day hike list. Cheers! Looking forward to your adventures this year.

Cheers thank you. Always like to mix things up and cover shorter as well as more substantial tramps. We all only have so much time so good to have so many options.

Good video, I have been up the Porka Rd, and all the way down, steepish, to Lake Rotoroa. Fantastic views and a roundabout journey. Thanks

I did look at the road link down to Lake Rotoroa but just didn’t have enough time. Great area and lots of options to explore.

    Thanks Sam.
This is quite uncanny and frankly rather spooky.
Sorry that I will not elaborate why but Thankyou for the interesting journey. Cheers

Intrigued. I’m guessing you’ve very recently done this hike or are just about to?

Can’t believe there’s so much stuff in that cottage, sadly if it was up the north some of it will be likely stolen, vandalised or burnt, why is so safe in the south.
What’s your connection with Kev, I understand that he’s now in the North Island?

Yeah I think some of these huts are so old that people tend to leave them alone and respect the history. I haven’t seen any real bad vandalism but I have seen some huts treated a lot worse than others and left untidy esp those nearer the road end on some places. Kev and I are both from ChCh and know each other well and have been tramping together for ages. We try and join up for as many tramps as possible still even with our busy lives.
