Fishing a winter STORM for COD

In this video I decided to fish a winter storm which was forecast to be around force 6 to force 7. To be fair it was a bit on the rough side but we fished it through and persevered.

Was out yesterday two venues and a complete blank, I was fishing big baits if it put small baits on I would of had whiting etc but I'm trying to avoid them lol

Seeing you make that large Cuttle bait reminds me of the sort of baits we used to use for Conger in Alderney, Strangely baits like that don't seem to work on Chesil at all .

Ye I love my big baits, trying to fend off the dogs. To be fair smaller baits so seem to work better here but I was targeting bass or cod so was hoping the bigger baits would help with scent etc. Off camera I did try smaller baits and that's how the dogs came in.

Thanks for the videos Dave, I’ve fished where you are in this video and a few other local marks. It’s only my second season and was much more difficult for me to catch this year compared to the year before. Interested to see you say it’s been tough this year, any idea why that is the case?
