I'm so glad you mentioned doing the double Leobreakers. That's what I actually did back in the day because I could never find a Wing Saber in stores. Mind you, one was the standard Leobreaker and the other was the Nemesis Breaker repaint so the colors didn't work at all.
There was a repaint of Leo Breaker called Leo Prime, but done in traditional Optimus Prime colors. I thought you did a review of it, but it was the Target exclusive repaint done in Lio Convoy's colors.
Yeah. There's the concern that Armada Prime's gonna be off shelves and long gone by the time they come out, so I wonder if we'll see them work something to keep them relevant. Just make Overload a Leader Class Weaponizer, and his gimmicks could work, and it'd be neat to take his cannons and just have regular figures using them as giant bazookas. But also still allow for the combination. Jetfire's pants would be trickier to explain. I wonder if they could do a simplified Armada Prime Cab in Voyager to go with it.
@@tfuniverse1651 Another thing, that's easy to forget about, it was actually possible to attach the original Overload and Armada Jetfire toys to each other. While it would look weird, Overload's thighs could connect to the clips on Jetfire or Prime's legs and be an alternate torso.
Technically they could just release the cab portion of the Commander separately as a voyager, maybe with Over-Run, as a new "Bendy" Prime. Then release new versions of Jetfire and Overload around the same time for their combination gimmicks.
@@Trebleshot Possibly. Depends on how expensive the cab robot is to make by themselves. He seems a bit much for a modern Voyager, and would be a very small Leader by himself.
THANKYOU. I’ve recently gotten back interested in collecting, starting with reestablishing my Optimus Prime collection. I looked for a video EXACTLY like this and was surprised no one had made one. Much appreciated my G, much appreciated. 🤙🏾
Base super robot Powermaster Optimus is pretty underrated in my opinion. He’s big, he incorporates his trailer well, and he’s well-armed. I didn’t notice this until today, but Optimus combines with his trailer the same way Magnus’s core robot slots into his own trailer. Fold him up into a cube, transform the trailer into armor, and slot the cube into the armor. It’s a design detail I love and makes me think that perhaps Powermaster Optimus was designed with elements of Magnus in mind. Regarding designing Optimus figures that can combine with other figures, just make Nemesis or Toxitron-themed repaints of both figures. The Nemesis colors go great with any figure, but I’d love to see more Toxitron figures now that he’s had a Walmart subline all to himself. Heck, I think his Evolution toy would go great with some green and purple recolors of the Armorizers (a peridot themed Bouldercrash repaint and an amethyst themed Magneous repaint would be pretty neat).
For the Savage Claw Mode check out the Chroma Hands 3d printed claw and hand upgrade for that. It's a really cool upgrade with articulated fingers too.
An Optimus colored Leobreaker, you say? There was a Target exclusive repaint of the Leo Prime retool that actually WAS in regular Optimus colors...though it made the lion mode look major funky. As for Armada Optimus, I'm surprised that you didn't touch on the full combination of Optimus+Jetfire+Overload. Sure, you have the options of Optimus+Jetfire or Optimus+Overload...but how about the epicness of all three?
One of the most obscure yet nostalgic TF media for me is that one Energon pack-in mini-comic about Wing Saber and Optimus. Wing Optimus really does deserve more love!

An energy toy made it in 1st place. I never thought I'd see the day. Who is paying you? Are they offering the haslab free of charge xD 😂😂 Great video as always
I still maintain that Omega Prime is the best combination for many reasons, but chiefly due to the fact that it feels like two characters becoming one. Omega Prime uses all new parts to be what he is and doesn’t really rehash anything, if at all, of his makeup figures. Add in the fact that Omega’s pieces are all hidden in Ultra Magnus’s chassis and you pretty much have me. I have absolutely loved Omega Prime since ‘01, and the only combiner to come close has been Jet Convoy. Otherwise, Cybertron Sonic Wing Mode is a dangerously close second.
There’s a 3D printed upgrade for Leo Breaker prime. His fist with lots of articulation. Shape ways. It’s not cheap but really makes that combo be what it should be.
I’m guessing we might at least get Armada Trio soon I mean we’re getting tidal wave who’s going to combine with Megatron and do you really think Armada fans would Megatron powered up, but not Optimus
Poor Energon Wingsaber... I remember an interview with his designer, and honestly that toy never had a chance of being good on it's own. Had to be at a certain size and price point, because the US market has to have size classes. Had to be able to do robot mode, vehicle, and the two combinations. Had to be able in vehicle mode to fit in the Mega class box without disassembly... And then they disassembled it anyways. No wonder he turned out like a brick. And Leobreaker is a prime example of how compromosing figures for the sound box hurt them. Especially since the sounds were so low effort. 1 Very generic roar. Compare that to how much you got with RID Prime and Magnus.
You know, combining the Energon Optimus and Wing Saber together in one Plastic Rehab would solve the issues about hating on Energon Prime and Wing Saber individually, even though Wing Saber's episode did that Rehab part for you. Also, man I really wish we got a Generations Selects God Ginrai, just so that we can have an even better Super Ginrai using the Power of the Primes Optimus mold (especially because Star Convoy gave us an ordinary Optimus Prime core block that can fit real well as the original Ginrai) and combine seamlessly without compromising on proportion and stability, two sore points of using the Titans Return Powermaster Prime mold.
Whether it’s a unique pattern or a “common” one, if ANY of the faction leaders has to be the “combiner one” then Optimus Prime is the best choice. My own ranking: 10. Energon Omega Prime because it's basically just Omega Prime with Optimus Prime's head and vehicles attached to it. It's not much of a combiner. He can technically KIND of also attach Wing Saber's parts but they're more bulky than Prime's Vehicles so don't really fit that well. 9. Cybertron Leobreaker because it's just an arm. 8. Power Master Optimus Prime, I like him but I don't feel like Apex Bomber really adds that much compared to other combiners. 7. Cybertron Wing Saber, I like the look of it but it's basically just a wing pack and can't be used at the same time as Leobreaker which would have made both of them rank higher on the list for me if they could be used at the same time. 6. Energon Wing Saber (Blue arms/Red legs) I actually have them displayed this way because it fits better on my shelf but it's not my favorite way to combine them. 5. Energon Wing Saber (Red arms/Blue legs) my preferred way to combine them and again the only reason I don't have them displayed this way is because of the wing span, I don't have space for it. 4. DiaKenzan the legs look a little skinny and he has a massive upper body. I imagine it's hard to get him to stand in this mode. 3. DiaGekisou also has smallish legs but I think he has an easier time standing because of the wide feet. I really like the Transformers Go! Autobots if you can't tell. 2. Armada Jetfire and Overload, I put these two together because on their own neither one is that great but they actually can and are meant to all be combined at the same time and that really elevates it for me. 1. RID Omega Prime, the best combiner ever in my opinion. And if you think it's cheating to have Energon Wing Saber take up 2 slots, Go EX Prime take up 2 slots, and Armada only have 1 slot here's an alternate list. 10. Energon Deluxe Optimus Prime, I just like that if you have other Deluxe Autobots he works with all of them, technically the Mega class Autobots as well though they're way out of proportion. You can technically do the Jetfire combination from Armada with the Energon figures but Energon Optimus makes a really small torso on Energon Jetfire's pants mode. It's also amusing to me that this technically makes it possible to combine Optimus and Rodimus together. 1. RID Omega Prime, the best combiner ever in my opinion.
Honestly think I prefer Optimus Supreme over Savage Claw Mode. I think it doesn't look as ridiculous. But I still understand why it's the other way around for you.
I like the one from Cybertron, although, if we ever get a figure of the bot that combined with Optimus, it most likely won’t combine with the siege, galaxy upgrade figure.
Yes, but it'd probably end up costing more than Unicron. That's a Commander sized figure, a Leader sized one, and a titan, all with more engineering required than those classes get at retail. Also contingent on Omega Prime doing well I'd imagine. He doesn't, they wouldn't feel that combining Optimus sets work for Haslab.
I wouldn't even call Star Convoy and Grandus a combiner mode. To me combiner says 2 or more robots that form an even bigger robot together and that's not what they're doing. I would include things like the Deluxe Optimus Prime from Energon, Combiner Wars, and the Crash Combiners from RID. especially considering Strongarm and Grimlock were specifically made to combine with Optimus Prime. Crash Combiners the entire gimmick was you can technically mix and match different sets but there were a few specific combinations that were 2 packed together. Optimus and Strongarm is actually molded in a way where they really only look good combined with each other. Optimus has a combined robot head and chest that is designed to look like Strongarm and Optimus fused together so he really doesn't look good when combined with other Characters. They could have been really lazy and just made 1 Optimus Prime toy but the Grimlock version actually has new molding so it looks like Grimlock. If you don't know how Crash Combiners work no part of the bottom robot actually forms with the top half so for Optimus who is always the shirt to have dedicated molding to one specific character that makes them specifically intended to go together. Anyway... I also would had swapped the number 1 and 2 positions. Omega Prime is still to this day the best Optimus combiner there is. Most other combiner modes are just adding something to Optimus and don't really look that different to the base figure. Omega Prime does give that visual change I want to see in the combined mode. Wing Saber is cool, I do like how versitile it is with 2 different combinations but it really isn't that much different to his regular Super Mode just with different limbs. And you could technically say the same thing about Combier Wars Optimus Prime. I do like it better than Combiner Wars because everything is integrated meaning there aren't random fists and feet pieces that can get lost cause they have no real use outside the combined mode. I never liked Combiner Wars or Power of the Primes use of the hands and feet, just build it into the robot. I can forgive G1 for doing that but there's really no excuse when we've had fully integrated combiners since the 90's why we should go back to G1 style with extra parts that need to be plugged on. Apperently some people prefer the parts not being integrated because it leads to the individual bots being comprimised for the combined mode but I think it's worth it to not have extra parts that can be lost cause they have no real use outside of combined mode. And poor Hungrrr ended up with no real accessories outside of his combined mode feet. You will never convince me those are his guns they're clearly just feet.
I'm surprised, even if it didn't get a separate entry, you made no mention of Takara Legends God Ginrai. I know a lot of people complain about the combined mode having stability issues standing, but I must have gotten damn lucky or something because mine isn't that bad. I think the proportion issues that bothered you in the G1 figure's arms were fixed in this version with the arms physically extending. And just looking at Godbomber as a separate toy for a moment, it's impressive for a character who's G1 figure was the ultimate partsformer that they figured out a way where you can technically get him from vehicle mode to robot mode without partsforming him.
I wanted to focus on the original iterations and just the overall design of the combined mode rather than include every iteration, otherwise we'd have to talk a lot of movie Prime and Jetfire, though the modern Ginrai does have a lot of changes from the first version.
Looking so forward to Fans Hobby's Wing Saber Eh, if they could nemesis Primal (still annoyed he's not white furred) there is no excuse they couldn't nemesis a combination buddy.
I think that if do a new Star Convoy (that isn’t a repaint of a previous Optimus Prime ie Power of the Primes), then that should be a titan class figure due to him being a Powered master over Powermaster Optimus Prime since Star Convoy is in no way a retooling of Ultra Magnus. Plus most Titan Class figures had a third mode.
The combiner wars Optimus I’m kinda curious what a legacy version would look like? Legacy motormaster was a big improvement over the CW version so maybe we could get a version of Optimus with the combiner head and instead of using characters as limbs maybe “drones” like cool repaints of the deluxe stunticons with different heads. Another combiner a commander class energon Optimus. We have armada and galaxy force but no energon so completing the unicron trilogy primes would be cool to see. Commander is gonna be the size to give Optimus a good budget for a figure, room for the trailer, and to have the drone packed in as well then star saber would be a leader class release. Speaking of energon would love to see a new sixshot, if that figure were to get an update I’d say do sixshot first mix it up a bit do the repaint first
You know what was really weird in Combiner Wars? I don't think we ever got all the characters needed to do the face Menasor from "Masquerade" and everyone was always waiting for that one! IIRC we never got any Sideswipe or Windcharger for it.
My number 1 is Cybertron sonic wing mode number 2 is omega prime number 2 energon sonic wing mode is number 3 and number 4 is armada powerlink jet Optimus and overload all in 1 so Jetfire and overload combined with Optimus prime
@@Dualbladedscorpion7737 Yes. I still have my original Overload, and while he can attach, he's too far back. The blast shields on the cannons are suppossed to be in front Prime's shoulders, but they end up in back. Having him break apart into a bunch of Bazooka's and guns for smaller figures would justify him even without Armada Prime on shelves, and might make the engineering easier.
@@Dualbladedscorpion7737 Yes. You know what might be an interesting -Izer idea for a line is minicons who have exosuits they combine with, like how Overload and Knockout work.

4. Energon Wing Saber I actually have them displayed blue arms red legs because it fits better on my shelf but it's not my favorite way to combine them. My preferred way to combine them red arms blue legs and again the only reason I don't have them displayed this way is because of the wing span, I don't have space for it.
3. Go! Ex Prime: DiaKenzan the legs look a little skinny and he has a massive upper body. I imagine it's hard to get him to stand in this mode.
DiaGekisou also has smallish legs but I think he has an easier time standing because of the wide feet. I really like the Transformers Go! Autobots if you can't tell.
SSUUUUUUUUPAH GOD FIREE CONVOOOOOYYY
Got my naval commander and legacy armada prime chilling together 🔥🔥 next up omega then god ginrai🔥
Ooh, i like this idea! ❤❤❤
Honestly think I prefer Optimus Supreme over Savage Claw Mode. I think it doesn't look as ridiculous. But I still understand why it's the other way around for you.
The commander Armada Prime, Jetfire, and overload can all three combined together into one flight and gun mode Prime
I like the one from Cybertron, although, if we ever get a figure of the bot that combined with Optimus, it most likely won’t combine with the siege, galaxy upgrade figure.
sitting here with my galaxy upgrade cybertron optimus prime as I'm watching this. lol
Would a Haslab Energon Prime with His drones, Wing Saber and Omega Supreme be possible?
Yes, but it'd probably end up costing more than Unicron. That's a Commander sized figure, a Leader sized one, and a titan, all with more engineering required than those classes get at retail.
Also contingent on Omega Prime doing well I'd imagine. He doesn't, they wouldn't feel that combining Optimus sets work for Haslab.
anything possible with a Haslab budget
Hm. Leobreaker was repainted red and blue as Leo Prime. I don’t mind regular Leobreaker’s colors though.
The only change I would’ve made was for energon and Omega Prime to be switched
I'd bump Armada Jet Optimus Prime into second place. With Powermaster Optimus and Energon Winged Optimus bellow that toy design.
I wanted to focus on the original iterations and just the overall design of the combined mode rather than include every iteration, otherwise we'd have to talk a lot of movie Prime and Jetfire, though the modern Ginrai does have a lot of changes from the first version.
awwww!!!! no transformers go!??? God Ginrai! glorious toy!
Looking so forward to Fans Hobby's Wing Saber
Eh, if they could nemesis Primal (still annoyed he's not white furred) there is no excuse they couldn't nemesis a combination buddy.
Once tidal wave comes out, do you think you could do a video like this for Megatron?
Gonna be a short video. The only Megatron Combinations I even remember are with Tidal Wave and Nemesis Breaker.
I have the top 3 in my collection.
Want to reuse a Transformer that was specifically made to combine with Optimus Prime? Paint both black!
He's big enough.
I really hope we get an overload figure in legacy, so that way he can combine it with Armada Optimus, or at least the original should get a reissue.
If we do get a legacy Armada overload I think he be a good pick for a leader class weaponizer
@@Dualbladedscorpion7737 yeah. If Hasbro runs out of rock lords references.
@@brettwood1351
And he's still got to come with a minicon of his own because his minicon forms the torso and his head.
@@Dualbladedscorpion7737 Yes. You know what might be an interesting -Izer idea for a line is minicons who have exosuits they combine with, like how Overload and Knockout work.
Optimus has had a lot of combine modes over the years while his arch enemy /brother, has had only two that I'm aware of:
1. Armada Megaton and Tidal wave
2. Cybertron Megaton and Nemesis breaker (not a good combo and really unbalances the leader figure)
Yeah, they both don’t look and/or function that well unfortunately.
Omega Prime is a beautiful display piece but you can’t really play with him well.
The best prime Combiner is skybound with megatrons arm
And I've seen so many people do that with other settings.
@@brettwood1351 the best ones I’ve seen were Bayverse and Angry Birds
I've seen an Optimus Primal with Megatron's T-Rex head arm. That's probably the most metal one I've seen so far.
@@Andyjoe522 Yeah, I've seen that one too.
Hi
Please put the shout outs on the end
No. They keep the channel going, they deserve to have it mentioned up front. Don't like it, skip the first minute.
God bomber is my favorite version then RID number 2 rest don't care about
