Amazing. You have the only new SB lathe I ever seen. Can’t be many of those left across the states. 🎉🎉🎉 you got a gem.

I have two of them and they are a truly wonderful machine. Working height of your setup looks very comfortable.

That’s a beauty! The table seems a little wobbly.

Very nice lathe you have. Keep them both! You can leave a 4 jaw chuck on one and a 3 jaw chuck on another or even set one of them for turning between centers to save time. Great work shop

Good morning Mr Richard. Beautiful machine. Is there a difference between the heavy 10 south end carriage and 10k carriage. I recently bought a south bend bed and looks just like yours. Thanks

Hi Rich did you sell the lathe yet?

Did you file the ways or do they have that pattern because it’s still so new?

That's called hand scraping the ways in. I'm not sure how to describe it but if you look it up on you tube there's several videos of how to do it.

Very very nice lathe. I also have a South Ben but not as new as that one. The table is going to be a problem for you. It needs to be much more ridged than it is in the video. Getting precision cuts with the way it is in the video is going to be almost impossible.

Yea, I had to bolt up the shelf and back support under the top. It's much better. Once I decide to keep it, I will have it up against a wall and screwed to it. I'll also take the wheels off.

Used?????? Look at those ways - it was never used.

The only machine I've seen in that perfect shape is a 49 Harley that was purchased from a dealer that was closing. Same color as your lathe, in a show room it's entire life and never started.
