It always seems Kiko is having more fun that anyone in the band or the audience. I just enjoy watching him have fun. Can’t wait to see him live. He’s the only Megadeth guitarist I haven’t seen live.

Even with all the touring they did on the Dystopia tour , they did not come anywhere close to the city I live in. It really made me sad because the Dystopia album is in my opinion the best Megadeth album since Rust In Peace and they played alot of songs from it on the Dystopia tour.
Dave Mustaine is a living legend. I had the honor to see him in his prime in the late 80s and early 90s. Dave, I hope you understand how much we appreciate what you've done for metal, and music in general.

Early stages of development happen within a few weeks, not many months. He probably developed it a month before he announced it. So no, throat cancer did not *affect* Mustaine's singing abilities prior to May of 2019
I watched them ay London O2 on the same tour, we got Rattlehead, Mechanix, The Conjuring, Wake up Dead... plus rust in peace. Seen Megadeth 10 times, best setlist in 2018.

I’m a big Metallica fan….but I do appreciate Megadeth more now than I have before. I guess it comes w/age when you set aside your bias for bands & just appreciate that they’re still around entertaining us & taking us away from daily struggles in life. Marty Friedman in this band called megadeth, his musicality is uncomparable to for example kirk, even though they are too different to compare but still.. That part actually made me kind of sad. Poor guy is getting old, and his voice is probably fucked from years of aggressive vocals (and throat cancer). But fucking major props to him for refusing to hang it up. That's a man who is passionate about his craft.
Dave is one of the few musicians I respect and still get exited about, not based on how he sounds or what he is capable of, but on the fact that he's actually trying...I like that.

@@Luucaas11 ah, sim, as influências do Kiko estão presentes no Dystopia, claro que dentro da proposta, mas estão lá. As dobras de guitarra, os solos que são puramente Kiko, alguns riffs mais bem harmonizados, não que já não fossem, mas o conhecimento do Kiko adiciona mais camadas às músicas novas.
Those solos are freaking amazing. The fact that they are actually playing the same thing each time is insane. It sounds like they are just free styling the solos, but it’s the same in the album. That’s impressive!!!
This lineup is PHENOMENAL!!!! Kiko is an amazing guitar player and Dirk is an incredible drummer. This is in my opinion the best lineup since the Rust In Peace lineup. Dave Mustaine's singing might not be as powerful as it was years ago, but to me he still sounds great on all these songs. I am so glad that they played My Last Words. It has always been one of my all time favorite Megadeth songs ever and Dave sounded great on it. Dave Mustaine has always been one of my all time favorite Songwriters ever. He is a living Legend and he has written many legendary songs throughout his career. I hope that he is proud of the legacy that he built from scratch because his catalog in my opinion is ICONIC!! Megadeth are easily on my top five favorite bands ever list. I have been a huge massive fan of theirs for over thirty years since their So Far, So Good, So What album came out, and I am a bigger fan now than ever before.

He has definitely help make Megadeth fresh again. His guitar playing in his previous band Angra is also phenomenal. I am really looking forward to the new Megadeth album. I have always thought that Metallica made a huge mistake firing him because in my opinion as great as Metallica are I think that they would have been even more amazing if Dave Mustaine was in the band all these years. If that had happened we never would have gotten Megadeth, so in a weird way I am glad that Metallica did fire him. Thirty years ago I was a bigger fan of Metallica than Megadeth, but in the last twenty years I have become a much bigger fan of Megadeth than Metallica. Megadeth has written some amazing albums these past twenty years like The System Has Failed, United Abominations, Endgame, Thirteen, and especially Dystopia. Metallica in my opinion have not been really consistent these past twenty years or longer. The only thing I liked by Metallica in the last twenty years is Hardwired To Self Destruct album, but I only like half of it.
Man, Megadeth has resurrected in the recent years. From Dystopia to now, their shows have been solid at least. Even with Mustaine's vocals, the difference now is the attitude, cause you can see the Four of them are having fun. From Endgame (great album) to Supercollider their live was weak cause the neck issues but the attitude as well, with probably not a bad, but a bloodless line-up. I think Dystopia is fantastic cause it has the Megadeth vibes within it. Other past albums are good but I think they didin't have this feeling of Megadeth at all. (Like United, or even Endgame, but not bad albums of course)
Always mind blowing to see these concerts right before Dave got diagnosed w cancer. He's up there shredding and doing his best on vocals while he literally has cancer in his throat. There's no one like Mustaine. People in metal talk a big game, but Dave delivers. 🔥🤘🏼💙🙌🏼
For anyone saying the vocals aren't good, Dave literally announced that he had throat cancer a year later, and, as Dave said before they played Holy Wars, that it was the last show of a 3 year tour for the album they had released, imagine singing the same songs everyday and sounding 11/10, not easy to do, and I think considering his age, health status at the time, and how many shows he had just played, he was sounding pretty damn good.
This has to be one of the their best live performances for a long, long time, the younger looking guy on lead guitar, who I haven't seen before is making the difference -injecting a new lease of life for the band- he certainly knows how to play the guitar.

I have hard time understanding why Kiko doesn't get more love.. Marty Friedman is one of my top 3 guitarists of all time, but Kiko is damn near neck and neck with Marty, his stage presence is just as good, he's got INCREDIBLE technique, and he is such an awesome person outside of music. Marty just has better hair...

You know, it's not always about technique, but also about feeling. Kiko may have a technique just as good as Marty, maybe same stage presence… but Marty had a unique feel that to me defined Megadeth more than any other guitarist except Dave of course. Kiko has his own vibe too, but it does not resonate with Megadeth as Marty's did. So that's way I do not see Kiko up there with Marty. At least not as long as he plays in Megadeth. He is closer to the feeling than Broderick was, though!
@@Okkvltify I totally agree with you, Marty's technique and feel is untouchable.. you hear all these people talking about 'shredders' have no feel, well give Marty Friedman a listen... granted, he can be reserved with some of his playing and blow anyone out of the water with some bluesy licks, but his technique is incredible. One of the few times I would use the word 'sexy' without describing a woman LOL. Kiko is very good at emulating it, but he's no Marty, and While Chris is dead-on note for note with his playing, I agree his playing can get boring pretty quick. Regardless, all 3 of them are phenomenal players.

I actually really hope that this is the final lineup for Megadeth. This is the best lineup Megadeth has had since the Rust In Peace lineup. Dystopia in my opinion is the best album Megan has done since Rust In Peace. That is how much this album has really grown on me since it came out. This is the perfect lineup for Megadeth for every future studio album and tour before they retire for good.

In fact, the next 10 years after rust in peace was all great stuff, and the last album was fantastic. I can't wait to hear the next one. I saw just Megadeth for the first time at Knotfest Iowa, and Kiko is an absolute god. He might even be better than Marty. And James looked like he was having the time of his life. Awesome show!
You just don't see that many musicians play guitar like that while singing, I'll never know how Dave manages to pull it off, it's just impressive as hell man.
I've seen Megadeth quite a few times live (probably 5) but not for many years now (at least 10). Thanks to TH-cam I can enjoy them at home on the big screen
man I love Kiko, maybe the best fit ever for the deth. I always was a Marty is number one guy but you can just see his level of play is just top of the bar, it all seems so effortless to him and blends so well with Dave.

Right on, I've been getting into Megadeth a lot more lately. The guitar parts are so intricate
I prefer Metallica but Megadeth have great songs. Ive really enjoyed their 90s, 00s and 10s output even if other people don't enjoy it as much

Those solos are freaking amazing. The fact that they are actually playing the same thing each time is insane. It sounds like they are just free styling the solos, but it’s the same in the album. That’s impressive!!!

This lineup is PHENOMENAL!!!! Kiko is an amazing guitar player and Dirk is an incredible drummer. This is in my opinion the best lineup since the Rust In Peace lineup. Dave Mustaine's singing might not be as powerful as it was years ago, but to me he still sounds great on all these songs. I am so glad that they played My Last Words. It has always been one of my all time favorite Megadeth songs ever and Dave sounded great on it. Dave Mustaine has always been one of my all time favorite Songwriters ever. He is a living Legend and he has written many legendary songs throughout his career. I hope that he is proud of the legacy that he built from scratch because his catalog in my opinion is ICONIC!! Megadeth are easily on my top five favorite bands ever list. I have been a huge massive fan of theirs for over thirty years since their So Far, So Good, So What album came out, and I am a bigger fan now than ever before.

I have always thought that Metallica made a huge mistake firing him because in my opinion as great as Metallica are I think that they would have been even more amazing if Dave Mustaine was in the band all these years. If that had happened we never would have gotten Megadeth, so in a weird way I am glad that Metallica did fire him. Thirty years ago I was a bigger fan of Metallica than Megadeth, but in the last twenty years I have become a much bigger fan of Megadeth than Metallica. Megadeth has written some amazing albums these past twenty years like The System Has Failed, United Abominations, Endgame, Thirteen, and especially Dystopia. Metallica in my opinion have not been really consistent these past twenty years or longer. The only thing I liked by Metallica in the last twenty years is Hardwired To Self Destruct album, but I only like half of it.

Man, Megadeth has resurrected in the recent years. From Dystopia to now, their shows have been solid at least. Even with Mustaine's vocals, the difference now is the attitude, cause you can see the Four of them are having fun. From Endgame (great album) to Supercollider their live was weak cause the neck issues but the attitude as well, with probably not a bad, but a bloodless line-up.
I think Dystopia is fantastic cause it has the Megadeth vibes within it. Other past albums are good but I think they didin't have this feeling of Megadeth at all. (Like United, or even Endgame, but not bad albums of course)
Always mind blowing to see these concerts right before Dave got diagnosed w cancer. He's up there shredding and doing his best on vocals while he literally has cancer in his throat.
There's no one like Mustaine. People in metal talk a big game, but Dave delivers. 🔥🤘🏼💙🙌🏼

For anyone saying the vocals aren't good, Dave literally announced that he had throat cancer a year later, and, as Dave said before they played Holy Wars, that it was the last show of a 3 year tour for the album they had released, imagine singing the same songs everyday and sounding 11/10, not easy to do, and I think considering his age, health status at the time, and how many shows he had just played, he was sounding pretty damn good.
This has to be one of the their best live performances for a long, long time, the younger looking guy on lead guitar, who I haven't seen before is making the difference -injecting a new lease of life for the band- he certainly knows how to play the guitar.
Well that young lead guitarist is Kiko Loureiro, former guitarist of Angra

I have hard time understanding why Kiko doesn't get more love.. Marty Friedman is one of my top 3 guitarists of all time, but Kiko is damn near neck and neck with Marty, his stage presence is just as good, he's got INCREDIBLE technique, and he is such an awesome person outside of music. Marty just has better hair...

You know, it's not always about technique, but also about feeling. Kiko may have a technique just as good as Marty, maybe same stage presence… but Marty had a unique feel that to me defined Megadeth more than any other guitarist except Dave of course. Kiko has his own vibe too, but it does not resonate with Megadeth as Marty's did. So that's way I do not see Kiko up there with Marty. At least not as long as he plays in Megadeth. He is closer to the feeling than Broderick was, though!
@@Okkvltify I totally agree with you, Marty's technique and feel is untouchable.. you hear all these people talking about 'shredders' have no feel, well give Marty Friedman a listen... granted, he can be reserved with some of his playing and blow anyone out of the water with some bluesy licks, but his technique is incredible. One of the few times I would use the word 'sexy' without describing a woman LOL. Kiko is very good at emulating it, but he's no Marty, and While Chris is dead-on note for note with his playing, I agree his playing can get boring pretty quick. Regardless, all 3 of them are phenomenal players.
Kiko can actually dance between those tornado of souls riffs.

I actually really hope that this is the final lineup for Megadeth. This is the best lineup Megadeth has had since the Rust In Peace lineup. Dystopia in my opinion is the best album Megan has done since Rust In Peace. That is how much this album has really grown on me since it came out. This is the perfect lineup for Megadeth for every future studio album and tour before they retire for good.
I hope so... It is time for Megadeth to step down.

In fact, the next 10 years after rust in peace was all great stuff, and the last album was fantastic. I can't wait to hear the next one. Hopefully this group can release several albums together because there is a lot of chemistry here.

I saw just Megadeth for the first time at Knotfest Iowa, and Kiko is an absolute god. He might even be better than Marty. And James looked like he was having the time of his life. Awesome show!

You just don't see that many musicians play guitar like that while singing, I'll never know how Dave manages to pull it off, it's just impressive as hell man.
I've seen Megadeth quite a few times live (probably 5) but not for many years now (at least 10). Thanks to TH-cam I can enjoy them at home on the big screen
man I love Kiko, maybe the best fit ever for the deth. I always was a Marty is number one guy but you can just see his level of play is just top of the bar, it all seems so effortless to him and blends so well with Dave.
