Vietnamese love hard beds. I actually prefer them too. In hot weather it is cooler on a hard bed than a bed you sink into. Traditionally Vietnamese either sleep on a mat on the floor or a wooden board (no mattress).

Here's my simple, frugal day today in Da Nang on a one meal a day regime - very decent spacious hotel room with direct 180 degree seaview, 2 minutes from the beach @ VND 250,000 + morning coffee @ VND 30,000 + dinner @ VND 100,000 + 4 x 500ml cans of beer @ VND 76,000 chilling on the beach ....total for the day VND 456,000 = USD 18 .....literally (almost) priceless
@@NicolasLi-v9t I like where your priorities are. :-) And WHERE are you getting 4 cans of 500ML for 76,000?!?!? The best I’ve found is one 500 ML of 8% (Red Horse) for 32k.
@@ManInProgress_USA K-Market near me stocks Becks Beer 5% 500ml @19,000 per can - couldn't quite believe it when I saw it for such decent quality, given a Japanese equivalent Sapporo is @38,000
Definitely something I’m aware of, just gotta be careful with what I’m spending. Suppose that you can get one for cheap, but the electronic store I went into around here and Da Nang the cheapest was $60…which is about 10 days of food out here. I’ll definitely look into it again.
You sound like a really nice guy and a foreigner who respects the law of the country. Your last video in Hoi An, you said the elders do not like you. Not true. There are a number of foreigners who enter the country and think that they are above the law and citizen. Those are the ones they do not like. Just stay humble and the local will treat you well. Yes, the youth in Vietnam are very well-mannered. In general, the people are usually chill. Also, you can only leave your stuffs out and not expect most crimes in Da Nang. Don't do that in Saigon, Hanoi or Nha Trang, just like any tourist locations. If you have questions, let me know. I am VK (fluent with the language and culture) and currently resides in Da Nang.
@@_-_-.-_-_ thank you so much for the feedback! To your point, Hoi An is really a tourist trap and I think the locals get fed up with the foreigners. I haven’t had any issues in Da Nang, in fact was even taken out to dinner by the owner of Cheers bar and restaurant.
I find most Vietnamese elders still show resentment towards anyone being American 🙏, I was mistaken once for being from USA , I informed them I'm British 🙏, it was a different story then.
@@paultaylor2611 Well...the USA did go to war with them under false pretenses, so I can understand. I found out they don't call it the "Vietnam" war, but rather the American War. The way it was explained to me was they don't like the distinction because it wasn't the Vietnamese people fighting each other. Overall, everyone has been wonderful and smiles back. I think it the tourists areas, they are a bit fed up with the lack of respect people have. For example, when I walk the beach...people have just thrown plastic bottles and trash on the beach. I make sure to pick those things up and do my best to be a good guest.
