      The thing with me is, i never understood that you just choose any number you want for x. That always confuses me and makes 0 sense to me still.

    • @antebellum606
      @antebellum606 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Provided that you stick to the equation, you can pick any x-value and it will be on the line or curve with a correct y-value. We are plugging in x-values because we are probing to see where the line is.
      If there are no limits placed on the Domain (x) or Range (y), the line or curve goes on forever. Which means, you can pick any number greater than negative infinity or less than positive infinity and you will get a correct coordinate.
      For real life purposes we impose limits on Domains and Ranges, because we operate within the parameters of natural law.

    • @antebellum606
      @antebellum606 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I should correct myself: the domain and range are the limits placed on x and y values, respectively. Limits cannot be placed on the domain or range, because they are the limits. My bad.

    • @suvindersahni9094
      @suvindersahni9094 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      George W. Bush draw the exponential graph of 3^x after plotting the graph . plot points 1/3 unit up ( 1/3 unit up along y axis) reason is let
      f(x)= 1/3+3^x
      let say g(x)=3^x
      f(x)=1/3 + g(x)
      so you can observe that for any x ; y will differ by 1/3 .

    • @suvindersahni9094
      @suvindersahni9094 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      for plotting 1/3×3^x
      y=3^(x-1)
      same graph as 3^x but will intersect y axis at 1 when x=1
