    I studied this concept two days in a row and still could not understand it at all. There were no good explanations anywhere, I tried several other youtube videos which were no help for me. They always over-complicated the subject. I even went over it several times with my teacher. But this video was the only thing that helped! You went through the full process and broke it down in a way that I could understand and it makes complete sense to me now! Thank you so much, Mr. Marty! You earned a subscriber!

    I am a 13 year old(on my moms account) and zone out in class alot just rememberd I had a test tommorow and finally decided to study at almost 11 oclock at night. this video basically saved my ass because within the first half I figured it out and am confident to take it, mans taught me piecewise in 11 minutes and 17 seconds 🙌

    I've gotten used to online school, and so if I didn't understand something or zoned out, I could just replay it. Now that I'm in traditional school, I can't really do that

      @@jesusice601 That's an incredible breakdown rate! My main advice is to forget the conditions and just graph each individual line. Then bring in the conditions to grab just the parts of the graph you are interested in.
      Have you used Desmos before? That's an incredible tool for working with graphs.
      If the breakdown rate doesn't lessen, you may want to get that checked out. 😉 Hang in there!

    I have a question. How do I fold my graph so that I can only see the following domain?

      The domain is the x-values, so you could fold the graph to only see the horizontal number line.

    Why are you using 2 as x? For example, can’t you use 1 for the first equation?

      Because 2 is the change-over from using one expression to the other, so that's where things are interesting. You certainly could use 1 in the first equation.

    Am having a trouble deciding. Two functions in my assignment x>2 meaning 2 is excluded and x>/2 meaning 2 included, both are at same point. Do I make that point a solid circle 🔴 or empty circle ⭕️?

      Closed circle is included and open circle is excluded. 👍

    Didn’t you graph y=-2x-1 wrong?
    It’s supposed to go to the left (1left, down 2)

      Careful, remember down and to the left are negative directions so down 2 and left 1 would be -2/-1 = 2/1 which would be a slope of 2.
