Worked at a gas station for a long time. One that sticks out the most was when we were required to ask everyone for their ID when buying tobacco. Elderly man asks for Winstons and I ask for ID; not only did he start yelling at me, but the customer behind him joins in. I explain that I could lose my job if I don't and was told I should and I need to find another job. This was all said to me mixed in with swearing and angry yelling. I stopped asking older people for their ID after that and never got in trouble for it. Another time, had this old dirty truck driver come in. He right off the bat was rude and short with me and my cashier. He was asking for free stuff like paper plates, forks and knives. I've seen it all and nothing really phases me, I have learned that the quicker you get them what they want (within reason) the quicker they leave you alone. Anyways, my cashier was cashing him out and he was talking to us. I can't remember if he asked something or said something and I just responded in a friendly manor. He cuts me off and is yelling at me to shut my mouth, that I shouldn't talk unless spoken too and he wasn't speaking to me. Everyone was silent, my cashier was frozen because she knows that I might be polite but I don't take shit. But honestly, I wasn't feeling it. I just ignored him and let her finish cashing him out. Later on when I was closing out our shift he comes back with his tail between his legs trying to pathetically apologize. He starts telling me all this personal information and how he has stomach and issues going to the bathroom. I just ignored him like he didn't exist and he finally got the message. Honestly, I hate working with the public. Even if you are having a bad day, remember that person behind the counter could be having one too and they are not there to be your outlet. Oh, and don't be an asshole...hand your dam money to people like a human being and when someone says hello, hi, how are you? Answer back, it's called being polite!
My very first job was bagging groceries. One day a guy came through the line and I asked him "paper or plastic"? He mumbled his answer, so I had to ask him again. Well, being the "awesome dude" that he clearly was, turns to me and says in the loudest voice possible, "I SAID PAPER!!!!! ARE YOU RETARDED OR SOMETHING"? I could feel my face get really hot, so I started bagging his stuff. The cashier I was bagging for was giving this guy a death stare. Then the jerk actually had the nerve to try and have a civil conversation with me like nothing happened. I barely answered him, placed his crap in his cart and walked to another bagging area to bag other groceries.
The customer was mad because I was quickly cashing them out. I was working 2 to 6 and I was the only cashier on the mens side section of the store. I cashed out 3 or 4 customers in about 10 minutes and a customer said,"You should take it easy today." I said,"I'm sorry but I don't think my bosses would be happy if I took it easy and didn't do what I was supposed to do." The customer had two items and I scanned her out quickly. She told me to take it easy and not work too hard. I told her that again. "I do not think my boss would be happy if I didn't do my job." After I finished I told her to have a nice night and she looked at me and said,"I would tell you to relax and enjoy your day but you won't listen so I hope your day sucks." Another time a customer made me cash her out and as we were standing there she told me she wanted to pay her bill. (Store has a credit card.) I suspended her scanned order and her payment. She handed me 60 bucks for her payment and I did that first. After I finished I rescanned her suspended slipped, put in a nice coupon and told her what she owed me. She procded to contend I stole 60 dollars from her. I called over my immediate supervisor and the girl who worked loss preventing. They both watched back the tapes and concluded I had done nothing wrong! This woman then wanted my assistant manager who she demanded fire me. He didn't. According on to him,one day I saw her in line, and I made a beeline for the rest room. He saw me and asked,"What I was doing?" I told him,"Using the restroom." he nodded,I came back a few minutes later and she was still there, I signaled I was going to walk clearance and pick up items left on the floor. My boss sees me again and I tell him what's going on. He said,"Smart girl. That chick's been calling and trying to get you fired for months!" Today a customer walked up to me and asked if the store ever solicited feedback from the customers on how our recently remodeled store looks. I told her that yes, we get told but to be honest there's not much we can do about it. She proceded to go off on me and tell me she would perfer to shop somewhere else. My bf was standing there and told her,"Lady,if you perfer to shop somewhere else that's your choice but you do not have to make another human miserabel because you are." (P.S. I adore him!)

I work at a call center that deals with health insurance. I remember one of my first calls, I was assisting a lady, trying to get her to understand why we denied a claim. I was trying to be nice and explain that her dental office needs to be contracted with the insurance company to be able to get payment due the policy only covering if her patient sees an in network provider. The bitch yells at me basically telling me how much I'm stupid, told me what I'm telling her is bullshit. The second she said bullshit I told her that if she continued to use cuss words with me it's our policy that I can disconnect the call. She hung up on me. I have soo many more stories of rude customers it's not even funny.

So I work in a supermarket. Because this virus, there’s been heaps of restrictions on food and how much of each product you can buy. There is a young girl at the front end (a worker) 15 years old. She was serving a lady who had WAYY too many doubles of things that weren’t aloud. The worker said nicely that due to restrictions she can’t get all these things. (The screen literally won’t let us) & the lady went full on “oh so you can buy all the shit but I can’t? You’re the reason my kids are starving and your the reason why they’re going to starve to death” and used lots of other words to. This lady said this, put blood of this girls hands.. SHES 15!
"You all are lying! She doesn't know what she's doing! You're just defending her because she's a little girl! Stop lying and part me that part I want!" Said to my store and department manager at my first ever job at a Lowe's in Texas. Our Tool World/Hardware department was all women and this was the first time anyone in the department had experienced sexism. This was a woman, BTW. She was pissed as I pointed out to her multiple times that "M'am. This is where the part you're looking for it. As you can see we have 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch but no 1/4 inch in this part." She said I can't know what I'm talking about because I was a girl talking about something men know better and demanded the department manager. He told her what the same thing and she demanded the store manager. He did the same and she tripled down on me knowing nothing because I was a girl and the big, strong men were defending my honor. Sometimes I wish I could go back and go "But, m'am. If women know nothing about hardware why are you here?" The only thing that hurt more wasn't words. It was the same job before I was certified in multiple departments and just worked Lawn and Garden. I saw this guy needed help in Inside Lawn and Garden and helped him pick out something. I remembered it was to kill something but I can't remember if it was pests or a weed killer. I saw him go to the Paint Department and it was unmanned so I started frantically calling for someone. The store was newish and by damn luck there was only one person in Paint that day and she was on break. The man got impatient, shoved the product I grabbed for him into my chest to make me grab it and stormed out just as the Paint employee was rushing over. It hurt emotionally because I tried so hard to help him and not only got shoved and made to feel useless but she yelled at me for interrupting her break. It wasn't even her lunch, it was her 10. For some reason the store got the bright idea to train me in Paint after that and I became the Jane-of-all-Trades in the store which is how I got such strong backing in the story that happened later.
The one who was on speakerphone at the pharmacy: Why does anyone ever talk on speakerphone in public? There is no need for the people around to hear anything... Speakerphone is dumb... especially on a cell phone.

I had a customer accuse me of not doing my job properly and he had a free coffee (still had to enter it so the order can print for the barista), but the bargain was not processing on the machine. Fed up, I literally turned my till around and showed him that it wasn't working and had to get my supervisor to look at the machine.
#Reddit During the 2 remaining hours of my last shift as a cashier, when I was 19, a man tried to pay me with american dollar bills (Im canadian) and since I had never seen a single american dollar bill before and I had no idea if I could accept them, I refused his cash. I was alone in the store as a night shift worker early in the morning so the manager wasnt there to tell me if I could accept something different than canadian currency. The man got angry at me and told me I would have made money by accepting it since american dollar had more value than canadian dollar and then he proceeded to tell me he was going to come back to talk to my boss and get me fired. My last shift was going to end in 2 hour so I didnt give him batshit and replied we are in canada, not the USA and he should pay with canadian dollars. He left the store still swearing at me. To this day I have no idea if he managed to get me fired or not.
Hmm where to start lmao. Actually, the meanest thing that has been said to me was by more or less friendly customers, surprisingly. I worked at a McDonald’s where the majority of the staff were black immigrants, as such most of them worked in the kitchen, but they could occasionally be seen by customers. Sometimes there’s a delay on the food of course, and this white customer of mine commented “the kitchen staff needs to be whipped” in a joking tone. That was pleasant. Another older pair were complaining to me about the uneducated staff in fast food in general, things like “she was so rude, but no wonder since she’s stuck in a shitty job. That’s what she gets for not pursuing education”. Very cute.
When I worked as a gas station attendant (third shift, working by myself), I was making a ridiculously large food order for a customer, and a woman further back in line told me "You need to hurry the fuck up, I have a *REAL JOB* to get to."
@@thepinkestpigglet7529 Oh, you *know* I wanted to. But it was the morning rush with a ton of customers and I was the only one working, so that wasn't an option. 😓
I (black male) work at a grocery store and my job is essentially making food for people to sample and trying to convince them to buy stuff. One day, I was serving up a white cheddar chicken and bacon macaroni dish. This older white guy comes up and tries it, after which he says "I swear, no one does macaroni better than the blacks. That and barbecue."
I used to get out of work very late at night and often stopped at 7/11 for my sweet tooth (laffy taffy). There were very sketchy customers late at night like the weird meth head that screamed at the windows (to anyone that would entertain him honestly) that I was his child and the cashiers kidnapped me. Meanwhile some woman is screaming at the cashiers as they refuse her service because she had shoplifted the day before and was not welcome in the store. I wish I screamed at her, bt I said under my breath to "just get out, there are people in line." She eventually gave up and I defended the cashiers against the meth head getting violent outside the windows. I had my fiance with me so I was not afraid of the meth head following me or starting shit.
I work at a gas station and a young guy comes up and wants to return unopened cigarettes in exchange for gas money. I told him that it's against the law to return cigarettes after they've left the building he called me a b***ch and as he walked out the door he wished I'd get the Coronavirus. A few days later he comes back and wants to buy cigarettes and I refused to serve him and told him to leave, he called me a c**t. More than a week passes and he comes in again and asks if I will sell to him I said, "If you apologize." He apologized and then I texted my manager and told her the rude young man was back in my good graces (previous to that he was 86ed from the store). Don't mess with me, I left Starbucks so I didn't have to cater to assholes anymore!

As a bartender I get A LOT of rude, lying, aggressive, entitled, sheisty people come in... however the meanest thing anyone said to me was that I was racist and demeaning because I referred to her daughter as "hun." I never use that word to address adults but almost always for children or people who are much younger than me. She wrote a long note on the check telling me about how rude I had been, when in fact I had been (and always am) very polite, accommodating, personable, and professional. I had given them great service in my opinion. I was heartbroken that someone of my own race could think I had any type of ill intent towards them or their child due to my southern upbringing. It also sucked to watch my manager read it and take her side...
This actually reminds me of the time I had a pretty big section but about 3 tables were off to the side in a section that was mostly closed (we added those tables so I could get more guests) and the hosts sat 3 black families back to back in that section... it wasn't on purpose but it looked like it because the only other black families were all the way on the other side and they couldn't see them. They definitely let my manager know how they felt.
Something wasn't on sale and I let her know she told to keep my mouth shut and not talk to her again because I obviously didnt know better and didnt go to college and that's why I'm a cashier and therefore cant tell her that something is not on sale and that SHE KNOWS what the sign says because SHE went to college.
I have one. I used to work at a chicken place. I will not say where or what because I don't want anyone to know. But one day we had this big black guy come in. Looked like he hadn't done a bit of exercise since he was born. He was about 6'3 I'm guessing? Keep in mind I'm about 5 ft and only 17.Anyways I start sweeping up the food and napkins on the floor, and saw one of the floor between his table and someone else's. I sweep it up real quick and continue to mind my business. Next thing I know, this guy does a full 180 and starts screaming at me. Yelling about how I was such a rude racist white bitch and how he was going to beat my ass. The manager got involved and told me I needed to apologize for doing my job and sweeping. I refused. She agreed and let me know to just hide behind the counter when he goes to leave. I ended up being so mad I took a like 5 minute break and cried. When time comes for him to leave, I go behind the counter. He sees that and proceeded to yell how I was a spineless racist bitch and he was in the right here and if he ever sees me again he'll beat me and how he's never coming back. I am so glad I no longer work there. The place I worked at should honestly be sued. They had a bunch of problems and they never called the police. Even though I was threatened, harrassed the entire time he was their with his 2 women, and he tried to lay hands on me. It pisses me off and I'm glad I left when I did.

When I was working at goodwill during about my first 2 weeks or so, I was trying to work hard and do a good job, so I politely approached a lady, and I politely ask her if I can help her with anything and I didn't know she was on the phone at the time otherwise I would have waited, and she outright yelled at me to leave her alone, right in my face, I was already pretty nervous because this was my first job, I really didn't mean to bother her, I was just trying to be polite and work hard
I'm a white girl blonde and blue eyed (helps) I work at a grocery store facing the isle (stratening) and some fat dude in a Hawaiian shirt come up to me asking for halva or something (Jewish food) I said unfortunately I didn't know but I gave an idea he looked at me saying your blonde and blue eyed it makes sense you wouldn't know
Called lots of names because we don't have ham on Christmas eve an hour into my shift, people of course we'll be out of it it's Christmas eve and blaming the guy who cleans bathrooms and gets carts isn't gonna get one other than a ban from Kroger and don't get me started with the toilet paper for the last month and a half
I had a rich lady stomp into the McDonald's I worked at. She screamed every slurr in the book at me and all my co workers.
My mother was there for her lunch break and tore that nasty c°°°t a new one. The awful lady left bawling.
Don't efing mess with Momma Bear, give your mom a hug from me!
@@rexgrl3 I actually wrote about that story and two other instances that happened when I was too young to remember. Both times my mom went mama bear before
Actually, I've heard someone mention that someone with cancer has a "sweet" scent. Of course, I don't know how true that is
Worked at a gas station for a long time.
"I do not think my boss would be happy if I didn't do my job." After I finished I told her to have a nice night and she looked at me and said,"I would tell you to relax and enjoy your day but you won't listen so I hope your day sucks."
Another time a customer made me cash her out and as we were standing there she told me she wanted to pay her bill. That chick's been calling and trying to get you fired for months!"
Today a customer walked up to me and asked if the store ever solicited feedback from the customers on how our recently remodeled store looks.
Fellow customer at a thrift store, to her unvaccinated son. "See Timmy, that's why Mommy doesn't believe in vaccines!" ...yes I'm autistic, but VERY high functioning.
11:32 omg I felt so sad for that poor girl who was just trying to do her job but what the guy and his friend did made me feel really happy and relifed some ppl are just buttholes because they think no one will stand up against them and/or stop them but when it actually happen they get what they diserve
I lasted 2 weeks in a call center. I can't remember why but I'm sure it was for a good reason.
Was it the pay? I would have lasted that long for the pay if they would have taught the person who's one job it was to make us happy with coffee how to make the damn coffee! I seriously kept hearing "Susan! You forgot the coffee filter again!" Who forgets the coffee filter!? How do you manage that?! Got sick day 2 from all the coffee grounds I was ingesting and stormed out.
@@geekygamergirl7259 I think it would be a combination of the garbage you get at call centers. Why the hell do I have to clock out to use the toilet???
SHES 15!
That last one
If women know nothing about hardware why are you here?"
The only thing that hurt more wasn't words.
'No potatoes!
No potatoes!'
The one who was on speakerphone at the pharmacy: Why does anyone ever talk on speakerphone in public? There is no need for the people around to hear anything... Speakerphone is dumb... especially on a cell phone.
Because they needed to use both hands at the computer while talking on the phone?
R Rainwater earphones? Headsets?
Don't know how some of these people cope,i work in a supermarket and that's enough.the customers are mostly great, although a couple of my colleagues have been made to cry.the food industry I couldn't be involved in,I know I'd end up spitting in people's food or "accidentally" dropping it in there laps lol
I had a customer accuse me of not doing my job properly and he had a free coffee (still had to enter it so the order can print for the barista), but the bargain was not processing on the machine. Fed up, I literally turned my till around and showed him that it wasn't working and had to get my supervisor to look at the machine.

During the 2 remaining hours of my last shift as a cashier, when I was 19, a man tried to pay me with american dollar bills (Im canadian) and since I had never seen a single american dollar bill before and I had no idea if I could accept them, I refused his cash.
That's when you slow things down
@@thepinkestpigglet7529 Oh, you *know* I wanted to. But it was the morning rush with a ton of customers and I was the only one working, so that wasn't an option. 😓
Retail work is the worst. I hated every job that deals with the general public.
Actually quit my job because the verbal harassment, but the worst one I got was this 19 year old kid (I’m 18 but still) saying hey fatass get me a beer,I’m ringing him up pulls out a fake and the customer behind him was my friend (police explorer) and his Sargent, who I’m turn I handed the fake too and the kid got detained
I read all of the things at the end of the video and I just have to do it this time. I like chicken! LOL
Something wasn't on sale and I let her know she told to keep my mouth shut and not talk to her again because I obviously didnt know better and didnt go to college and that's why I'm a cashier and therefore cant tell her that something is not on sale and that SHE KNOWS what the sign says because SHE went to college.
The baked potato storyteller is amazing
A lady once thanked me for delivering a pizza. I was so offended
Entitled people are the worst
@Jhgd Eggg No, not just white. That's pretty racist. Don't assume I'm entitled because of the color of my skin.
If someone said something like any of these to me, I'd find them later and say the same thing to them.

But what if I DON'T like chicken? Am I doomed to a life of misery and melancholy?
