    My Alaskan malamute had an aggressive cancer in the side of her face. I loved her so much. She died 4 weeks ago and I’ve never wept so much. Pets are special but Ellura was so much more to me. 4 years ago I broke my next. I was very Ill for three months. Ellura stayed by my side the whole time. She was so worried. I buried her and built a special place for her to lay.

    With chemo, my dog beat lymphoma. It wasn't easy for him but he completed the whole program. The expectation was 2 more years for him. But he got almost 5 years and we lose to DM at age of 14. He is in heaven now. Until we meet my little boy.

    Hello Doctor Sue! Unfortunately i found this channel too late.. when my dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma. He deteriorated pretty fast and yesterday we had to make a tough decision to put him down and end his suffering. To all of those who are fighting cancer KEEP FIGHTING TILL THE END! Just dont forget if you see your pet suffering make the right decision. As much as we want them to stay with us longer, we need to do it for them not for us! Thank you doctor Sue for teaching us!!🙏🏻🙏🏻Godd Bless all doggies and kitchies in heaven❤️❤️❤️

    Would appreciate suggestions on dealing with the end; how to know when it’s time to say goodbye and not attempt yet one more rescue.Loss is never easy and it must be one of the hardest things you do in your profession. But you must have Knowledge and advice to share and I think it would be very beneficial on this blog. Thank you for all you do for the big and small.

    My sister found your channel and guided me here. My dog was diagnosed with B Cell 3/A in March. He just finished 3rd treatment (CHOP)
    His oncologist is hopeful for full remission after the 5th treatment. I am too. If it gives me 12 more months I’ll take it. And I’ll do whatever I can for more time.
    I’m going through your lymphoma videos now and wanted to say a big THANK YOU for these Vlogs. I’be been reading articles all day and night until I just can’t process the information anymore- the cognitive load is too much to digest and distill- so again THANK YOU SO MUCH for these Vlogs. Firstly, thank you for all of the information you provide. My 7yo dog had an abdo ultrasound yesterday and the vet said she has a mass in her spleen and I'm struggling to recall all the info from that phone call but mentioned the mesentry, intestines and lymphoma and said basically we're looking at palliative care. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed right now about which path to take but very much appreciate the vast amount of info you provide and somehow don't feel so alone since I found your channel ❤

    Have you ever had any experiences with Roid Rage using prednisone? I've had two experiences. One was for weight loss due to stress and the other weight loss caused by Babesia. Both cases involved pretty extreme obsessive behaviors. The stressed dog had an obsession with controlling things. Dogs, noises, etc. He would literally stare at the garage doors and pace back and fourth if he heard any kind of noise. It became so bad he couldn't focus on anything else and it became ingrained into his personality. He would focus on the doors from the moment he came out until he went in. The Babesia dog became obsessed with balls. He lost his mind one day and tore down a chain link fence to get a ball a cat had knocked out of the cat enclosure. I was able to bring both dogs back down to earth with behavior modification but neither was ever quite the same. Both dogs also ended up with bite records. Since these two, I can't say I'm a huge fan unless it's absolutely necessary.

      With all the steroids I have prescribed in lymphoma and mast cell tumor cases over 20 years I personally have not had any cases but we usually taper and do not use chronically. Still I have not had it in my cases but it is a thing that is reported. Sorry you dealt with it. We must always consider the pros and cons, but sucks when we have to deal with any serious adverse side effect.

    • @DogSpeak
      @DogSpeak 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DrSueCancerVet Did you mean taper on or off? We tapered them off but both had issues during and long after. One was on for about a month, the other somewhat longer. The obsessed one just recently passed from lymphoma. When the doc said prednisone I was like, no way! Anyway, now I just handle the stress and deal with the weight gain using food. If I had to use prednisone on a dog for lymphoma, I'd probably go that route, but not with that particular dog after what happened previously. I do appreciate the input. Thanks for responding!

    Dr. Sue, can you do a video on radiation options for early stage anal sac gland apocrine adenocarcinomas? My 11 year old has had his anal glands removed but the neoplasia cells extended to surgical margins hence radiation is the next step.
    He did have an ultrasound and calcium bloodwork done before surgery and all came back normal and clear so the next step is radiation but it it so expensive and was wondering what your experience has been for palliative radiation vs stereotactic radiation treatment and how effective it can be for these type of cancers. Would love some of your insight on these specific tumors and their radiation stage treatments. Also client education on mitotic count index and what this means? Thank you!

    Recently I commented on a video saying I was having trouble understand a pathology report I had just recieved. I then saw this video and I just wanted to sincerely apologize if it came across as medical advice on my dog personally. But I more so wanted maybe a video to explain more about these very very difficult numbers vets throw out and words like ki67 and mitotic index. I have the number. But there is very little information that explains this on the internet. I understand if you are not comfortable or if this still is medical advice. It's just like I recieved my dogs death sentence and it explains what to expect yet it's in a different language and I have to find out by experience even tho its sitting on a table right in front of me💔

    Hi Dr Sue, back again with Tiggy! We went to the local cancer institute and they suggested a second surgery to try and get any cancer cells left behind in the first one and also we did ultrasounds and other testing and there is a spot in his spleen they think is benign and also his lympnodes in his legs were swollen so they did more test and they believe one has mass cells and told me to have the surgeon remove it for a biopsy :( im disappointed its spread but still relieved its early stage 2 and he doesnt need radiation or chemo. Also, dont let specific people get you down... The internet is like that! People just have a bad day or are in bad situations and they just need positivity in their life!
