    Mia is beautiful.
My suggestion is putting the weeds on the burn pile if they have weed seeds. Otherwise when compost is spread the seeds will spread too. I love how you two prepare the garden together. It's a lot of work.

I have never used weed fabric in our garden beds. We have raised beds and all the walkways are heavy layers of cardboard topped with 6 inches of wood chips. Haven't had any weeds in the walkways other than maybe a small sprout from the whole grain we feed the chickens. We let the chickens into our garden beds all fall and winter to churn everything over for us and add more compost to the beds as needed. In the fall and winter we drop layers of leaves on the garden beds and the chickens do all the work of breaking it down for us.

Its not the water, its the snapping turtles! They grab the ducklings’ feet and pull them under. Because we cant hear each other when the tractor is running, we use sign language(hand motions) to tell each other what to do with the bucket. Mimic the motions you want the driver to make. Works like a charm!

The last raised bed with the timbers, instead of dragging it and hurting yourself, use the tractor FEL. TYM gave you a backsaver, work smarter, not harder dear people. I put hooks on my FEL on my Yanmar and I use it with a chain to move all kinds of stuff around my place. I moved a big cast iron bathtub that was in my yard. I hooked the chain through the hole in it and lifted it up and carried it away. Look for ways to make use of the tractor to save your back. Rebekah did a great job with the tractor!

That soil looks like black gold. Rebekah, what a fun new toy! Excellent work. And nice to see Evan is so encouraging. So sad about the one little duckling, At 1:00 you can see the tiny yellow duckling was most likely the last to hatch and probably not strong enough to recover from the Great First Swim. Rebekah always making friends with the bovine!

Hey Rebekah, great job on the tractor. Things will become smoother the more time you spend on the TYM. It will all become second nature. You mentioned that your hatchlings went from 4 to 3 in bill-count. A pond your size must have many Snapping Turtles in there. I am pretty sure that the momma duck probably fed at least a turtle or maybe another critter-getter but I would like to see all of the little ones grow up to be bigger full size quackers. We all know Mother Nature has a way of balancing out some animals headcount. Anyway love the videos, maybe the tiller, if not too big for the smaller TYM, can be used by your better half. Take care

Evan, you mentioned you were going to lay down new fabric. If you didn't buy it yet, I'd recommend you get the extra wide typar road underlayment which you can get up to 17 feet wide. I used this in my garden and it works great with fewer seams for weeds to sprout through. Much easier to overlap and pin to the ground. Good luck.

One thing to remember is keep the throttle opened half way or better so that to keep the hydraulics flowing and diesel engines like it! My tomato plants are in the ground and this past winter I brought old cow fence panels in one at a time to my building and cut them up into sections, then welded them into tomato cages. Now the cages are tall and strong!

Steel star pickets are easier to remove when you give it a good hammer whack down, It dislodges the soil adherence and you can pull them up. Maybe the same principle could apply to those weed blanket staples.
