Have seen alot of people laying vinyl over their floor boards so that cleaning the floor from droppings is easier plus can be washed off ever so often.
As you were building the " hoop coop", I began to realize something. These structures would make excellent starter greenhouses for a beginner homesteader. They are small, and relatively inexpensive. You would just have to get the correct plastic for the outside, and of course some shade cloth.
They make great small greenhouses. I built 2' sidewalls so I could go the full 8' wide. Covered sidewalls with rabbit wire, so when the plastic is rolled up, the free-range chickens and wild rabbits can't get in. Door is a Dutch door and put a push-out window at the back for ventilation.
I'm glad you chose to add that extra bracing on the bottom instead of just down the middle. I worked in a lumberyard/home improvement center and did a lot of projects with my dad when I was young and half in plywood really needs more support if you're going to be walking on it. Of course, it's no longer quite half and inch thick. The mills have decreed everything wood be a bit shorter/thinner, so "half inch plywood" is 15/32 now. Edited to fix a typo.
Thanks for sharing with us Kevin and Sarah, that was a good how to video for the Hoop Coup . All went well for you folks and the weather was so beautiful up there. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the great fun around there too. Fred.
It was nice to meet you two. Keep up the great work and wonderful content. May God richly bless you with His grace and mercy. Thank you for all that you do.
It is a joy to watch y'all grow, harvest, preserve and cook from the green house and garden. Kindly teaching and sharing your experience loving and caring for critters, I've learned a lot! God Bless and Happy Homesteading.
❤I think this one can be modified to do the deep bedding chicken coop for winter months. Great details included in every video, that sets yours apart from all others. Thank you so much. 7 months until we plan to list the house a look for our homestead 🎉
love watching the geese, ducks and chickens 'fly the coop' when you open the door❗ Oh my the stories 'they' are telling‼ha 😂ha😂Nice coop build! I like the details.....💚
Oh my Kevin! Can you say more hernias? Gotta rig up some straps and/or wenches to that tractor or mule next time you need to lift something. Cool build!
So far everything looks great in Waddlesville!! The geese have really grown and it appears that they are getting along well with the other animals!! The quail aviary is coming along nicely!!
I love watching your channel! Kevin, your instructions and demonstration on building this hoop coop is fantastic. I really appreciate all of the little tips you add to help with the build. You and Sarah both are natural teachers and I appreciate that so much. I have learned a lot from both of you, so thank you very much for sharing! God bless you both! ❤
Thank you SO much for the in-depth "show & tell" to building the end supports. It is extremely helpful for me as I am a visual learner & not a carpenter of any fashion. Blessings to you both!
Thank you for the visual step-by-step to build your aviary/hoop coop. I always feel I can build just about anything, but having the visual makes it so much easier. Thank you. Looks great!
Thank you for sharing another great building project with us! Helps having a visual to help guide us through our projects. Blessings on your day Kiddos!🌻🐛💕Carolyn in Ohio
Wow, Keven, your a genius at this, excellent work. Others can learn a thing or ten from you. It was so !ugh fun watching the geese release stampede, I loved it.
I have learned so much from your channel. Have you thought about sheet vinyl for the floor with some straw. It will be difficult to clean with only wood. Great video.
Hey Gang 👋, Kevin and Sarah, you guys are amazing and inspirational and motivating for others to follow ìñ your footsteps, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO stay safe and healthy.
It was a pleasure seeing you all in person at the Oxarks Homesteading Expo. I've been following along fot a good 5 years or more. Y'all are inspiring. I can't wait to have my own homestead.
Kevin, I know a man who raises quail year round outside, in Augusta Kansas. He originally built a wooden structure, like a small shed, then added a covered porch, enclosed the whole thing in hardware cloth, and chicken wire to keep all kinds of critters out, 4x4 posts for porch, and all types of vining plants surrounding it for shade. Really cool, they just run around all day and act like quail.
Love it! One thing I would do differently, would be lay down linoleum before putting up the cattle panels. I have linoleum in my chicken coop and it makes a world of difference cleaning it. Looking forward to seeing what else you do!
I love the tips and tricks regarding measuring and making certain the braces are angled correctly. Also love the fact that you share the plumbers' tape uses! Thanks again for another great video...
Nice cage but when I build my quail cages I build the door at least 30cm off the ground at the front part of the cage as quails like to run out, so as you did a cross brace at the back I suggest a similar one at the front but 30cm high off the ground so you can step over it.
Good morning Kevin and Sarah. Love this video! You make putting together a hoop coop look easy for us to follow along, and make one for ourselves. Cutting up 100 pounds of cabbage today. Harvesting oregano and Anise Hyssop. Had a bumper crop of Anise Hyssop that reseeded itself last fall from one big plant. It filled two 4x8 raised beds. (I transplanted one bed)😳😁That's a first for me here in Minnesota. The bees love the flowers at the top! Also had some cilantro that reseeded itself from last year. God bless and take care!
I get such a kick out of those four geese that always hang together. I sing in a four-part Harmony chorus. They remind me of that barbershop quartet in the Music Man.
Awesome video! After watching your videos on hoop-coops I built my first one. I was worried that it would be too difficult a project for me working alone, but it turned out great. I hope you two know how much of a blessing it is for you to have each other to help and share your experiences with. Thank you so much for your inspiration and sharing your knowledge.
I have been watching for a very long time rarely comment but have to say you two work so well together and accomplish so much together! I have learned so much from your channel.TY TY TY...😊
Kevin, for future reference, always run your plywood perpendicular to your joists. It's manufactured to be rigid in that direction. God bless and keep on keep'n on.
I had a thought, if I were a realtor I might advertise this as: "Waddlesville, an upscale gated community for discerning fowls of all feathers". Just a fun thought. The quail hut is going to be wonderful. Love and Light!
Looks good! I did not realize, till today, the close proximity the shop was to the house nor did I realize how close waddlesville was to the house. Thanks for sharing.
I love watching you with your projects. This one made me think that it might be a great "building" for a green house. It could be made any length maybe, I don't need much. Thank you for your expertise, I love that it is "organic" and not perfectly square! Your place is coming along nicely.
Great video as always. I always enjoy the projects you do. The ducks and silkies are so much fun to watch too. Can’t help but make me smile. Good way to start the day. God Bless!
You folks are a great team so much love and respect for each other, truly a good example for the young folks who are watching your videos. Good job, Blessings. 😊
Love your projects, thanks for teaching us tried and productive ways to set up a hoop coop for quail or any poultry 😂❤🎉. Stay safe in the in climate weather coming across the south people. Love you guys.❤
Mine won't be for birds - but will make it into a greenhouse. Thanks for the close up of inserting angled screws that is something I've never been able to do. I also need a new drill.
My sister has no power, but she's now in a safe situation from hurricane! Thnx for ppls prayers
Vinyl flooring on floor easy to clean out
Have seen alot of people laying vinyl over their floor boards so that cleaning the floor from droppings is easier plus can be washed off ever so often.
Just letting the ducks, geese and chickens out would make my day!
God bless!🙏

That’s what I was wondering. I am a 73 year old great Grandma, but I think I could tackle this for the small gardening plants I want.
What a great idea!
Thank you for sharing this. Love it!I have 2 cattle panels that I have to still put up ... lol ...
@@lynnbetts4332sounds pretty close to my plans.
I always get the giggles when the ducks get let out, they sound so happy! Thank you for sharing part of your day!
I would put linoleum on the floor, makes it much easier to clean
Can't wait until I move in 2024 and I get to have chicks and ducks as well as a garden. Also everyone please keep Florida in our prayers.
Yes Sir, can’t live without my plumbing strap. 101 uses and counting.
I love it when you let out those sill ducks! So funny! The silkies are cute!
Why do you not use cinder blocks for a foundation?🥰💓💓💓

A day with out sunshine is my day until l listen to you all!!!
💚 Waddle on In! The ducks are so happy and enthusiastic to get out for the day! Hoop coop for quail looking good, hope it works for them. 💚
Thanks for sharing with us Kevin and Sarah, that was a good how to video for the Hoop Coup . All went well for you folks and the weather was so beautiful up there. Thanks for sharing with us, stay safe and keep up the great fun around there too. Fred.
You are all the time thinking of neat ways to make things your quails will probably love it😊
It was nice to meet you two. Keep up the great work and wonderful content. May God richly bless you with His grace and mercy. Thank you for all that you do.
You two work so well together! It's refreshing to watch your videos!
I love how you help each other ❤
Be praying for the people in Florida, it’s devastating!
It's past citrus county already. Heavy bands of wind. I thought I was losing the porch roof but now I see it's branches. Prayers to all the neighbors.
Praying for you all😣
Praying for the people of Florida.
Prayers for everyone in Florida. Idalia is reaking havoc all over the place. Be safe and God bless everyone. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
As. I've prayed specifically since yesterday Tues. I'm on east cost and had puddles in between bands all thru the night. I can imagine cedar key😢
This hoop coop is coming along beautifully. It’s always so fun to watch you two build together.
I totally agree ❤😊
I love watching the ducks and silkies burst out of the coops so cute. Thanks for sharing. I think the quail are going to like their new home
They have all gotten bigger. And I love them hoop coops.
It is a joy to watch y'all grow, harvest, preserve and cook from the green house and garden. Kindly teaching and sharing your experience loving and caring for critters, I've learned a lot! God Bless and Happy Homesteading.

Hey Kevin have you thought about putting linoleum down in the quail house to make it easier to clean? You just need a Turkey tractor now!!!
Good job on that hoop building Enjoy the video we watch again stay safe have a good day
Oh my Kevin! Can you say more hernias? Gotta rig up some straps and/or wenches to that tractor or mule next time you need to lift something. Cool build!
Another great informative video. Great teammates! Blessings!
Fantastic build; you make it look easy but I know it takes muscle & patience! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to everyone 🤗💗🇨🇦

I enjoy watching you both create various things! Both of you are looking fantastic! Congrats on your weightloss journey!
I absolutely love your homestead, it's always so beautiful, you guys have done an outstanding job 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Great video again! Just met you all a Ozarks Homesteading Expo! Thank you so much for kind words of encouragement.
You know, if you built a short knee wall, you will be able to increase the ceiling height of the aviary and improve access to more of the floor space.
Maybe a cheap piece of linoleum on the floor would help to keep it clean . Maybe ?
Thank you for sharing another great building project with us! Helps having a visual to help guide us through our projects. Blessings on your day Kiddos!🌻🐛💕Carolyn in Ohio
It is a really beautiful site to watch you two work together. So awesome. Love it.

You are very talented May God bless both of upo lovely couple!
If I was a Quail.; I wouldn't want to walk on screen mesh all the time. Good move! Love from MN.
This is such a great tutorial for building a hoop structure. I can see this being used for a small greenhouse or any number of things. Thank you.
Hey Gang 👋, Kevin and Sarah, you guys are amazing and inspirational and motivating for others to follow ìñ your footsteps, God's Good Blessings to you and your beautiful family keep up the great work love U guys XOXOXO stay safe and healthy.
Oh my goodness, how cute to see the birds tumble out on top of each other.
Professor Kevin at his best. Thanks for another fine tutorial.
It was a pleasure seeing you all in person at the Oxarks Homesteading Expo. I've been following along fot a good 5 years or more. Y'all are inspiring. I can't wait to have my own homestead.

When you flipped the platform back over there was a lose piece of wood under it, better check to see if it is level.
Using it for flooring, you always use 3/4 3/4 ply over 2 ft spaced joists, or 1/2 inch over 16 inch spacing.
Can’t wait to see the finished product it went together nicely.
Waddlesville is awesome! You guys do a great job!! The new sign is so cute!
Love both of your shirts!!! Also appraciate all of your videos!! GOD bless!!

GREAT JOB ! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS 👍💕💕💕
This is so exciting to see Quail coming outside.
Enjoyed that. The right front corner doesn't look level tho
Can't wait to see the finished product I too have quail. Curious about the poop scooping? One of the worst smells on my Homestead.
Glad to see all is well! Blessings
Be looking forward to the finished product with quail.
Wow love what you are doing on the homestead!!!
So how are you going to mow between the fence and the hoop coop?
I learned sooooo much today!!
Thank you for teaching us!
Can't wait to see it finished.
Probably using this as a guideline for my own.
Kevin, for future reference, always run your plywood perpendicular to your joists. It's manufactured to be rigid in that direction.
God bless and keep on keep'n on.
We enjoy your videos so much. 🎉
I had a thought, if I were a realtor I might advertise this as: "Waddlesville, an upscale gated community for discerning fowls of all feathers". Just a fun thought. The quail hut is going to be wonderful.
Love and Light!
😂😂😂
I hope that when it's finished the birds don't get stuck between the canvas and the metal frame. They are small enough to go through the grid.
Good morning. Why not make the hoop coop longer so the last panel fits instead of overlapping the last one.
Hey you two. Hope you are having better weather up there . Loving the waddlesville
Beautiful job as usual ❤
Looks good! I did not realize, till today, the close proximity the shop was to the house nor did I realize how close waddlesville was to the house. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed watching very much 👍👍

I'm so excited you did this, I will be doing aviaries next summer. I love this idea! Thanks for sharing!
WOW! Your build videos are so helpful! Thank you!!
Praying!
God bless
Great video as always. I always enjoy the projects you do. The ducks and silkies are so much fun to watch too. Can’t help but make me smile. Good way to start the day. God Bless!

My daughter wants ducks! It's neat to see them run out!
Nice build instructions. I may try it! 👏❤️👍
Yet another very informative, well organized, non-dramatic/political, enjoyable video! 😉
Thanks you two! You are a joy to learn from.
Really enjoy watching you all build these hoop coops for the different animals. Good homes for them.
Mine won't be for birds - but will make it into a greenhouse. Thanks for the close up of inserting angled screws that is something I've never been able to do. I also need a new drill.
Kevin, I love your tee shirt!!!😊
