I'm glad you love it! I've really enjoyed having the bunting in my sewing room. I did a sewing room makeover video and showed the bunting there as well as several other projects using scraps from that and one other quilt.
🅰️➕️➕️➕️ Creative genius. Beautiful, thoughtful use of well-loved quilt. Brava, Colleen. Thank you for sharing this excellent video. You made my day. 💟 💟 💟
Thanks! It was a fun project! I've since used some other pieces of the quilt. It's nice to give it new life after it was in such a sad state when I bought it.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I’m always finding vintage quilts that have a lot of damage but still have useable areas as well. This inspires me to get creative in repurposing them!
Hand-stitched projects are treasures! I love it when I see hand-stitched on something because I know how much time and care it takes to do it well. :-)
What a wonderful idea ....I've just found your channel this morning, watched two videos and subscribed right away ...please forgive my awkward english, I'm from France ....Thank you so much !
Ah yes, we are kindred spirits. “I don’t know what I am going to do with that, but I’m sure I can think of *something*…” LOL. The bane of my existence, and the reason I need to declutter everything! 😂
Yup! It's how I ended up with way way way too much fabric! I still have too much, to be honest, but I've been doing better about using it up! But I have a really hard time passing up old handcrafted textile art like quilts and embroidered linens. It's a weakness for sure. Such skill and beauty shouldn't be left unseen! and it seems no matter how badly damaged an item is, there's still a usable bit of pretty quilting or stitching worth salvaging.
I really like your idea to let a piece "live" longer, in what purpose whatever. I just thought about what to to with my very old pieces of tablecloth, which have big stains and holes in it. That's what I will try to sew now.
Very clever! I love Dresden plate quilts and actually just finished a Dresden wall hanging. Your bunting idea is wonderful and I love the pinking and button details. 👏😁
Ooh, I have the same machine and I hope mine turns out as pretty as yours. :) LOVE the bunting and your channel. Also, since you have the same machine as me, could you tell me what kind/brand of clear table you have to the left of the machine? I've been searching for one that's made for that one but cannot find anywhere. I probably could, but didn't want to make my own for it. Thanks for any info. Brenda
I'm so glad you enjoy my channel! The bunting was a really fun project. The clear tables are from Amazon. They are for lifting monitors on a desk, but they work great for my sewing machine. They elevate my machine to reduce neck fatigue (I have a video about it called 'sewing after injury'). @@ColleenMarble I ordered the same ones and am very happy with them. I'm using as an extension table for my Janome but because they're not attached to the machine, I can also use for my Kenmore or my serger. Best idea ever! Thank you sew much!!
What a great idea. The buttons made it look better, in my opinion.
I love the buttons too!
Adorable idea and the dresden plate is my favorite traditional quilt pattern! Love it! Thanks!

Such a wonderful idea to repurpose an antique piece. I love it.

Thank you so much! I now have this bunting hanging in my newly reorganized sewing studio, and it just makes me so happy. :-)
Great Idea and I am glad you followed through on your design & caring, cute way to display the "antique" Dresden fans!!!

Absolutely adorable vintage upcycling. Bravo
Thank you so much!
what a great idea to continue to enjoy the salvageable parts of an old quilt! I’m going, I think I’m going to try this out as well!✂️
I hope you give it a try!

Thanks for watching! I've done a couple other projects with this and another quilt. Check out my sewing room makeover video!
I love this. I would probably be tempted to hand stitch the project together. So it would take me a lot longer! Lol

Thanks for watching and subscribing! I am reorganizing my sewing room and just hung this bunting up last night! I'll show it in my next video!
I would have never thought of this. They really are beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. 🤩
Thanks for watching! It's a great way to enjoy quilts that otherwise would not be usable.

Oh I'm so glad this video inspired you to create something new from something old! Thank you for sharing!
Wow! I'm impressed with your math skills. I really like those semi-circle things. Thanks for the ideas .
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
I love this! I have my mothers, grandmother’s and aunt’s buttons. I would have rotated their buttons for a memory buntings.
I have my grandmother's buttons too - they are really special and I love using them on projects as a little way to keep her close to my heart.
Original and cute!
Thank you so much! I love having it in my sewing room.

This is wonderful!
Thank you so much! I love it, and it's hanging in my sewing room, so I can enjoy it every time I'm in there.
Colleen, what a awesome bunting, thank you for sharing this project.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
That is beautiful!!
Thank you! I was so happy to be able to make something pretty out of a wreck of a quilt.
Love it.
Thank you! It makes me happy every time I look at it. :-)
