If the demand for wool is still there, people will still keep them to produce wool/slaughter for meat/impregnate to birth babies and then take their milk. The shearing process is also not nice at all, very rushed and animals get nicked with little care taken by the shearers. We can help change things by choosing not to purchase animal products.
