Replaced shock struts before on a Mercury Sable. I took spring and all out the put the spring compressor on to replace the strut. Worked good and only took a couple of hours and a few beers🤣🍺
Hey Buck. Great videos! Question about the TB lift. Been looking at getting this lift. At max lifting height, are you able to sit in a low chair with casters and roll underneath the vehicles to work on? Thanks in advance sir.
I have an old minivan seat thats on rollers. If it is reclined i can roll under cars. I did some exhaust work and oil changes like that. I have a few videos on the lift on my channel. Im real happy with it, i use it for all kinds of things not just cars.
9:22 You pulled the punch that was pinning the knuckle to the old strut, and the assembly dropped pretty sharply... looked like it was stopped by the half-shaft and the brake line. Please tell us that there was some unseen piece of rope or wire that caught it instead!

I have messed with spring compressors before, its quite the job to switch them out.
When you released the strut, the entire knuckle yanked on the brake hose when it fell. That could have been ugly.

The A arm only let's it go down that far. The brake line was tight but the assembly was not supported by it.
What kind of noise was it making and when did the noise happen?
A clunk noise on rougher roads.
It sounds like you have a glass bottle or metal ball bouncing around under your hood
