Villiers, just want to say a heartfelt thank you from here in California. Felt incredibly overwhelmed trying to book a safari in South Africa but with the help of your videos, I'm all set for a combo self-drive out of Orpen Rest Camp and a few days at Pungwe in the Manyeleti. Your videos are among the best I've seen on TH-cam in any category -- perfect mix of entertainment, information, and stunning visuals. I've learned so much and now feel ready to take on this adventure. Special shout-out for clear instructions on things like boom gates pre-Orpen, which road signs to follow in the Manyeleti, etc. These bits of local insight are incredibly valuable for someone coming from afar. Cheers for everything you do!
Hi Safari Expert, thanks for your videos! I returned from my first Kruger trip a couple of months ago and your camp site reviews and Kruger Routes book which I got on amazon were invaluable in the planning. Thank you! We stayed at Maroela, Skukuza, Crocodile Bridge and Berg en dal. Trip of a lifetime!
AS a SOUTH AFRICAN SOTHO guy!! ,Who detest Tribal identities Would like TO Declare my Admiration ,of your PROFESSIONAL Presentation and SHOWCASING the Beauty of OUR Country ,JY is n REGTIG PATRIOT, hope my Afrikaans is goed.
Hi masj m, thank you so much 🙏🏻 I don’t think you know how much your comment means to me! There’s nothing I love more in this world than our beautiful country and all its beautiful people... Kea leboha, motsoalle 😁 (I hope that’s right)

I love going to the Kruger National Park and staying in the Camps. I also enjoy looking for animals and seeing all the bird life. I always so enjoy watching your videos as they are full of lots of useful information. Looking forward to more Kruger videos. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We recently saw the Birminghams near Orpen on the tar road between the boom gate and the camp. Perfect. The 2 white lions were there as well as the young male with the limp. Great meeting celebrities!
Great video!! I stayed at Maroela 3 years go at the end of a 10 day trip in the park that included a wilderness trail and a stay at Sable Hide!! That trip was the richest in sightings I've ever had in the park, and the H7 was where I saw a wild dog pack and leopard, as well as my final one of the big five, just before returning to camp on the last night... white rhino!! It was truly a tremendous trip, and I would love to do it again!! This year I am doing the northern Kruger. Thanks for your videos. They are inspirational!!
The White Lions are in the Birmingham Pride found on Ngala and sometimes slip into Kruger. The Orpen Pack of Dogs always den far off the Tourist areas of Kingfisherspruit N of Timbavati River in a area close to the no road Red Gorten Windmill in Jul about >> they show their pups again in the Orpen area and Ngala in about Oct
Nikon Z7 and Nikon 70-200 f2.8 S plus Z 1.4 x convertor is all I now need for Wildlife these days >> get 420mm f4 in DX and the best optical quality out there
Great review - thanks. I recently visited Orpen and found it (and the main tar road into the park) to be relatively quiet - but I get that its an access road and can be busy. I must have been lucky. Perhaps school holidays impact the traffic on this road too.
The BEST area of Central Kruger >> Orpen Wild Dog Pack < Skybed Lion Pride and Descendants < Close access to N section of S36 for best Cheetah Sightings in Kruger around Rockvale Windmill. Great Section Ranger at Kingfisher Spruit and my favorite Male Leopard at Bobbejaans Krans...Away from the Metropolis of Satara . We used to stay at Tamboti with its camp Leopards >> seen 2 in camp during the day nogal >> well what do you expect with an unguarded open day gate Lol Love that >> hate fences I am a Rooiputs lover> Muzandzene >> Best Picnic Site South of Letaba >> Big Secret Leave camp at gate opening to beat Traffic and sunrise in Aug and go right past lions for the soon to be traffuic jams and go straight to Rockvale for Cheetah on your OWN . Never have traffic as a photographer Key. we now stay at Maroela if we are not at our favorite North
You have a good life, you make videos to give itineraries, camps while enjoying this superb nature, what more could you ask for ?!😊On the other hand I found that you were driving a little too fast, when you passed the Wild Dogs, we drive slowly next to animals!😉What a pleasure to see Casper and his brothers as well as Shaka Mbiri, beautiful all these Lions💞 ... In any case, if one day I go to Kruger, your videos are a source of information ... Thank you🙂
Booked orpen for a night in August, as the rest camp is a few miles further in on the H7 and has only a few visitors, do you not have an advantage when the gate opens at 6 am ?
Hi Villiers. We have stayed at Tamboti multiple times and loved it. But during our last trip, we decided to not go again till our children are a bit older. The honey badgers are just too dangerous. Do you know if Maroela also has the same problem with the badgers? Thanks
@@ridhwaanmohammed8717 Hi Ridwhaan. They are now 7 and 8. We were there in March this year. They were all over. We had a close call at the Braai, where I had to grab the meat from the buggers just before they stole it. Told my kids they had to stay in the tent/on the stoep.
I love your videos. I want to do a Kruger self drive trip. Could you suggest a travel agency which can handle all the bookings and car hire? I am based in India. Thank you again, keep those videos coming.

Dankie...
Thanks for another great vid! If you're going to have slow down to manoeuvre around an obstacle, couldn't get any better than it being Painted Wolves!
My pleasure, Brian! 🐕🐕🐕🐕
I love thre S140 >> Best Sable road in Kruger Great Cheetah country too
I’ve seen them there as well, Peter
Another great vid! Never stayed at any of these three but nearby Talamati is one of our all time favorites 😀
I’ve actually never stayed there, Joe. I think I should go check it out 🤔😎
Maroela looks fantastic! We would have booked there for our next trip but it’s booked up for months!
Oh no! 😱 That just shows you how popular it is...

Lovely video as always..we have both the book and app recommended and they are both great 😀, now all we need to do is get back to Kruger 🤞😃
Yes! 🥳
my family is going to leave to Kruger next week saturday and you are helping us choose wich one thank you
My pleasure! 😉

1st out is a good option 👍🏻😁
Love the videos! Would be great to see a similar video on Crocodile Bridge camp. It certainly is a popular area, especially for day visitors.
I will definitely make one about Croc Bridge :)

do you prebook trips to the kruger?

Gerhard, I’m not sure. I actually haven’t camped there for a while.
How old are your kids coz I wanna go soon and worry about the badgers too

Vikram. Contact Zaheer Ali of Zali Photo on photo@zali.co.za - his website is www.zali.co.za - he will be able to help.
If you are driving from north through the krugerpark to orpen is it also that difficult?
Difficult how?
From a game viewing perspective would you recommend staying in Orpen or Tamboti over Talamati?
Rich, the Orpen-area is better in my opinion, but like I said in the video, there will be A LOT more traffic than down at Talamati.
Bro please make video canon90d+tamron 150600g2 wildlife photography separate video bro it's use for upcoming wildlife photographer plssss 🙏😊😊❤
