Tamboti Camp Kruger National Park

Tamboti Tented Camp is a satellite camp near the Orpen Rest Camp and gate. It has 30 units. There are 15 safari tents with 2 single beds (code: CTT2), 15 safari tents with 4 single beds (code: CTT4) and 9 luxury safari tents (code LST3). Each of these 3 types of accommodation has 1 unit suitable for guests who use wheelchairs. The camp is on the mostly dry-looking Timbavati River. The one great advantage of staying in these tents is that one can hear the night sounds very clearly at times. There are no noisy air-conditioners and for most of it the units are in general well shaded by the beautiful big riverine trees and shrub. There is no shop, restaurant, swimming pool or laundry at the camp, however a basic shop and laundry can be found next door at Orpen camp. Guests can book Sanpark safaris that will pick you up and deliver you back at camp. At the time of filming this informative video the hide was in a terrible condition and subsequently was not included in the footage. Guests must be careful at night as honey badger roam the camp. These amazing creatures can sometimes be aggressive. Guests who make use of the communal ablutions are advised to bring a good torch or head lamp. Fuel for vehicles can be obtained from Orpen main gate.

Tamboti is the best camp in Kruger. Tent 40, but tent 13 a leopard took a baboon out of tree at 9 in the morning

It is my personal favorite also! :-) Stayed in tent 1 once with Leopard taking baboon basically right above us!
