Hey dude, 40 is nothing, wait till ya hit 55. Yeah I had an incident up in NthQld back in 2019 which left me really broken for 12 months or so. It affected me so much I sold my gear and haven’t been PG’n since then. But the season is just starting to kick off and I’m getting keen to get some airtime again. Although as you said so many people are getting hurt, even the longtime pros. Thinking I might go to the dark side and fly a HG. All the best mate. Appreciate the honest video. Stay safe.

Love the video Broey! Very important chats to be had about this sport that we love so much, a wise friend once said ‘just remember that time moves way slower when you’re broken and in bed bro- fly accordingly’. Keep the ‘I need a word’ videos coming bro- it’s very important and well delivered. Much love and blue skies! Yew!

Good to see you weren't injured...
...that was one helluva pluck! 😯
    And you're right:
    1) Being current is vital - easing back into flying gently, if you're not.
    2) This is a "dangerous sport". Anyone who thinks it's not, should quit asap.
BUT, I see too many people these days desperate for what they perceive as "a safe life"...which is a contradiction in terms; "life" is a terminal condition.
So, enjoying our sport while flying wisely is my input:
Never change more than one condition at a time. Eg, only fly a new wing at a site you know like the back of your hand, in conditions which are maybe fine for a newbie.
In stronger than usual conditions, fly a wing you're 100% proficient at.
    Etc...
Anyway, great vid, and I hope you enjoy your summer, because we're heading into winter here in Japan, which is, oddly enough, more enjoyable for flying 🤷🏼‍♂️
    🤣

Same thing just happened to me the other day. I got plucked on my friends free flight glider. Thrown right into a fence. And on the same day........I clipped a tree branch and got knocked right outta the sky. Thank god I am ok.......but definitely gonna check myself!
Boy did I learn my lesson!

Good call man. I’ve learned that I don’t know what I don’t know. Sometimes I get that feeling in my nuts that’s it’s not safe to fly. The hard part is to act on that feeling and stay on the ground. We’re all addicted to being airborne so the trick is to fight the urge to push into bad conditions. Meteorologically or mentally.
