Hey friends, just wanted to touch on something I’ve been asked/called out on… At a point in this video, I brought up how I’ve been messaged by people telling me what’s going on behind the scenes with AILD, but I don’t want to bring it up because it didn’t come from anyone involved. This was more so in response to comments I’ve gotten from people in previous videos saying “you’re in the industry, you have to have heard what’s going on”. Yes, I have been told stuff, but it hasn’t come from anyone associated with AILD or their camp, and none of it is verifiable, which is why I said I’m not bringing any of that up. I could have and should have worded that better and edited it better into this video. I didn’t mean to suggest that I know what’s going on but I’m not telling, because I don’t know any more than anyone else at this point. ✌️
Please imagine for a second, that Nik and Tank would fill the void and their first single is a Metal cover of „price Tag“. Both of them wearing a suit with dollar bills on it. That picture absolutely made my day 😂😂😂😂
I quit AILD before I got the chance to join. I'm forever grateful for the opportunity this band gave me to stop giving a damn, and I'll cherish that for the rest of my career.
@ivybeard8337 can you not before i had the chance to join... which would mean what? He wasn't in the band, so what could he have learned in something that didn't exist to take to "other projects"
@@JosephRivera588 If they do, the next bassist will also need to be able to sing unless they want to use a backing track. I do not like keeping Josh of the record because he does have a great voice, but it is easier for them logistically should they need a new bassist.
The whole situation is still wild. I don't think I'd want to work with someone who tried to put a hit out on their wife. Good luck to all the folks looking to join his band I guess. 😬
@@crass340 Right? Like i don't even feel bad for the dudes, i feel bad for his ex wife. It is beyond insane and these guys were like giving him a second chance. I guess money speaks louder than their morals.
@@Tim85-y2qtbf, it is really bad. Not sounds. There’s a difference. Saying that it “sounds” bad make it sounds like you don’t care about the situation, all you care about is the end-product of something that “shouldn’t have that stigma”. Because, it’s true, and the truth hurt.
I mean, at what point would they have signed an NDA though, and why? When they first joined the band? Right before they left? Neither of those makes any sense.
@matturner6890 I love metal and metal core but let's be real, metal went underground, metal core is what's more angsty, feminine, and emotional, and what inspires more of the genre and sounds today. Most metal heads aren't aggressive jerks they're soy boys with long hair.
The fans still supporting Tim should form a supergroup called As I Can't Accept Tim Is The Problem with their first album being called Gaslighting Is Security.
Screw you bro, isn't any reason to run your mouth and be a hater bc a person has made not so great choices on their past...who are you to judge anyone😂
Tim is a problem. But my problem is this. 1. When the information came out he tried to kill his ex wife people jumped to conclusions and said they would never forgive him. As if it was a fans position to forgive him in the first place. 2. Tim did his time. And people still shit on him for everything even after the fact. Prison is designed to punish and rehabilitate people into society. Not crucify them publicly forever. 3. His ex wife the one most affected forgave him and they did a duet together. His band mates forgave him for a time. 4. He did a lot of charity work while he was away from as I lay dying. 5. When the band got back together they dropped a bad ass album. People still couldnt drop what happened in the past. 6. Tim got remarried. People still couldnt let the past go. 7. New line up is formed and they drop bangers. 8. New line up leaves and countless rumors are sprung up. 9. Band mates start leaving. (Phil had actually already left) Each state's they worried about their safety. 10. phil comes out and says a lot of issues were dysfunction, monetary, and creativity. 11. Every band member had no problem being thankful for the opportunity. Each said a vague reason why they left. And again people couldn't let the past go despite literally no information and Phil's own information mostly going against the rumors. 12. ONLY AILD is having issues. Austrian death machine. Fine. His other two man band. Fine. His current wife fine. His kids. Fine. 13. Band members mentioned behavior that happened multiple times. (This does not mean violent) That made them fear for their safety and one member even stated it challenged his morals. This nugget throws a wrench into the whole thing. As in morally you can only name a few things that challenge people's morales. One rumor was he smacked his wife. Who came out and said the rumor was false. Another theory was that Tim was talking to minors. Another baseless rumor. My absolute best guess based on 0 evidence is Tim is on roids again and he has said some nasty things. And based on his past THAT is why they left. Not necessarily because he actually did anything. Point being overall is I'm smart enough to hold my tongue until a full picture comes out. Everyone else just throws out baseless rumors as fact.
As someone who was extremely hardcore about AILD, I wanted to give it a chance to see if the ship could be righted, but this has me completely out on it. It is definitely obvious that Tim still has some stuff that needs professional help. I will try to keep up with what the former band members do from here, and really hope they shed some light on this to help keep other people from being caught in the cycle.
When will you people learn that talk is so cheap it's literally free, and that's why actions matter? You never assume anyone's changed unless they can demonstrate that, which takes real calendar years. It's common for addicts and people who struggle to make it a good year or two before they relapse but ultimately they're almost exactly the same as the people that relapsed after two weeks.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Tank makes a video saying "I'm also leaving As I Lay Dying". Like, AILD might as well be the Wu-Tang of the metalcore scene. Am I in AILD? Should I leave if I find out it's a yes?
Wu-Tang started with 8 members, and after ODB passed, they brought in Cappadonna. That's 1 member change since 1993. Please don't compare this s**tshow to the Wu.
Made a theory when the members started leaving and I still stand by it: Tim and Phil got into some business related argument and it got heated and Tim either threatened Phil or outright assaulted him. Obviously this wouldn’t have come from nothing, and would have been a pot boiling over; but after this the other members saw the reality of things and started making exit strategies
While Deron Miller is nowhere near as bad as Tim, I can't help but see parallels to his 96BB project. It's been a revolving door of members because he is impossible to work with. He had his drummer and bass player quit mid tour, and ended up replacing them an Eventide octave pedal and the current bass player attempting to play drums for what sounded like the first time in his life. And in spite of that trash fire, he has managed to find new members to fill out the lineup. Young and/or desperate musicians will play with anyone, regardless of how bad things might have been with previous lineups.
Curious: as a general rule of thumb, when does a "touring" member become a "full" member? I always feel like people over complicate things. Tim needs control of AILD, unfortunately its probably the only thing in life thats never abandoned him and hes had control of. Truly sharing AILD likely puts him in danger of getting booted from AILD (i feel like Phil alluded to this sorta) and rightfully so. If you guys would just fall in line, agree with everything Tim said and praise his brilliant ideas, none of this drama would have happened.
I mean, sometimes that never really happens. There are tons of gigs in the industry where musicians are hired guns/touring members and never have any business stake in the band. They just get paid in the same way the roadies do.
@@TankTheTech Thanks for the reply. I'm kinda just sending these questions out into the ether rhetorically so I don't expect a response, but Is that an angle for the mental health/safety? The demand in time/effort and writing of songs to still only be a hired gun? For Phil to step up and give an ultimatum to let these guys in and then have Tim call his bluff?
@TankTheTech its so common too. Friend was a drummer with big social media presence joining a popular band. He even did a great split-kit video playing their songs with their old drummer. Then he was even writing albums with them but was not getting paid anywhere near the rest of the band and treated like he wasn't actually in the band. He left them for more-or-less their direct rival but the subgenre was dying anyway so now he's a photographer despite still being on Pearl's featured drummers list without having played a show since before COVID lmao It also genuinely seems like it's a metal/rock issue (more prevalent at least). I know a few guys who've joined edm acts, one was just doing an international tour with a BIG name, and they got treated great. Could just be the five stories I've heard are skewed and not the norm but I genuinely believe the elitism especially in metal and the tight-knit "brotherhood" mentality that never truly lets someone replace a founding member is an issue that's not addressed enough. But the points system and splits in general are just something new artists are not aware of or really explained, and it's chewing them up and opening them to abuse by legacy acts
More often than not there are people in a band who have established some kind of legal entity, like an LLC (limited liability company), or a partnership. They run the band like a company, own the name, the logo, publishing rights, etc. When they need people, they hire them for tours, studio work, and so on. The chances those people get invited into the company to be come the part of it are very low, since this basically means splitting the profits into smaller chunks.
Thank you for not normalizing wanting to have people killed because you don’t like them. It’s unhinged to me that people are excusing this as a normal reaction to conflict management.
16:30 separated from my sons mother when he was 16ish months old. We were in court for numerous reasons due to her mental health till he was around 12. At no point in time did I think about having her off'd.
You'll have to have certain (narcissistic) personality traits to even begin to think doing something like that. Vengance always come with a price. Your kid is lucky to have at least one caring and stable parent. ❤️
@@pitchblackprogress1341 I always figured that he didn't get to chose who his mum was. Just had to wait for him to realise what his mum was like for himself. Just to look after him to the best of my ability in the situation.
I will definitely listen to the album, perhaps more than once when it comes out, because I like the music and *most* of the musicians involved, but that's where it ends for me. I've never defended any of it.
Same. Also I like reading way too much into the lyrics. A lot of lines in the Awakened album feel like a confession/self snitch. It's interesting to say the least
I like how metal has this ridiculous "tough-guy" aesthetic but whenever anything controversial happens, they all turn into Subway PR people trying to explain away Jared.
The only logical reason for all to leave AILD is that during some band bickering someone slipped and said "Tim, what you gonna do? Hire someone to **** us?" And Tim was like "Y'all see" and no one knew if it was a joke or not. I mean no one is talking about it, they are just angry about it, so it is either really shameful or really scary. Or maybe both.
It’s like Incantation, Massacre, Nervosa, Cobra Spell, Cradle of Filth, and many others, they just can’t keep members. At some point you realize there’s a common factor.
In regards to cradle of Filth. True they've had a lot of members but maritns been there 18 years ,Daniel and marek about a decade. Most are literally just session players who get hired for tours
@@danowarhealy6890i struggle with the cradle thing. They're one of my fav bands, and Danny seems like a nice guy in most videos I see. But there is a lot of member turnover. I choose to enjoy the music in this case. And member turnover doesn't necessarily mean member abuse or bad environment. Idk!
@@chadstruzynski there is all sorts of reasons to leave especially a band whose been around for 3 decades . Llke Sara left because she wanted a solo career. Some are literally just live members like I said. Some might have got tired with the music. I dunno the entire cof lore. but I dunno I've never heard anyone say anything about dani really 🤷
I think we’re going to hear about a class action lawsuit in the future. Phil probably wanted to make sure Tim can’t take more money. I think the rest lawyered up.
15:57 💯 💯 My father tried to have my mom killed using me and my brother as children. He’s not normal in any sense and was very abusive. He did do some prison time but not damn near enough imo. ETA: he did this after they’d been divorced for several years.
Again, I totally respect and understand anyone who still loves the old music and doesn't want to let go of that. You're not endorsing attempted murder by doing that. I'm even cool with the idea from people that he's done his time and as a result deserves the chance to resume his career. (Though I'm also personally disinclined to support such individuals in high prestige arts and sports careers after the fact. But that's my judgement, not yours.) But there is no way in hell that this isn't Tim's fault. When all four other band members and the touring manager leave, and all you have to say is 'Yes, I agree this is bad' - while dropping faint hints about the fact that you're fighting over the money! - that's about as big a red flag as you can get. You don't *need* any focus to be on his previous extra-legal shenanigans to see that this guy is a radioactive personality and the people around him are voting with their feet as to whether he's worth it or not. Tim Lambesis is not the first petty little tyrant to be in charge of a music gig, there's a lot of competition there. But some of the other guys made it work because it was genuinely real - their vision *was* the correct vision, and the fan response proved it. Thunderous applause and genuine rewards do a lot to dull personal resentments. Moreover, many of those dudes actually worked hard to improve with age, because that's just what you should do when there's a problem. Irate 20 year olds with a vision and no communication skills can come across as a little intense. 40 year olds have had the opportunity to be better, and should be judged as such. Clearly, the people who are up close and personal to Tim no longer believe that he's worth it. Nor do they think he's getting better, or that it's worth sticking around for any other reason. That's as brutal of a dis-endorsement (by people who clearly also wanted to believe the bit about him doing his time and deserving another chance, no less!) as you can get.
@@Kanner111 it all comes down to being both a founding member and the front man of a band, founding members who are also front men have a pattern of being really difficult to work with. Tim is likely a control freak and probably has serious issues with collaboration. The band probably thought little of it at first but began to distance themselves when they found out Tim isn't going to stop being a control freak.
@@getshwiftygaming447 So, as a band guy who admittedly has had issues with being a control freak when it comes to the vision for a band, I can relate. And I will acknowledge that both of you have very valid points. At this point, this is a band (and frontman) who has been active for a better part of 25 years. In the case of Tim, seven members have departed in the last three years. And it's not like any of these guys were problematic - Nick, Josh, and Phil are seen as some of the nicest people in the business and in general (local boys from my neck of the woods). I'm going to check out this record because of the collective efforts of the guys who recently left, but this should be a wake-up call for Tim. He's rushing a return where maybe he just needs to re-organize his priorities.
A great plot twist would be: Ov Sulfur disbands, the band becomes the new AILD line up, Ricky Hoover joins the ex line up around Phil, Ken and Nick and they call themselves "Through Storms Ahead" and play As I Lay Dying songs. Happened to Morbid Angel, where half of the band continued as I Am Morbid, while Trey Azaghtoth tries to keep a line up around him and Steve Tucker.
To be fair Ilum was a straight shitshow of an album and it's very obvious that was all David Vincents baby. He tried to put techno/trance sounds in the band in the nineties which was when he got fired the first time. He just eventually succeeded.
The difference between Breaking Benjamin and AILD is that BB nearly broke up because their previous members okayed a release with their label before okaying it with Ben beforehand and he was rightfully mad. AILD almost broke up (and kinda did) because Tim tried to kill his wife
I get the feeling and it's an assumption, that it became a very us and them between Tim and Phil being the founding members, and the remaining backed Phil!

It absolutely fucks my brain to pieces that so many people will overlook truly heinous behavior and people for the sake of consumption. We have not moved the needle as far as I wanted to believe. We have to do better as a species. This shit is depressing.
As an aside from the main drama (that I don't have the mental gymnastics to talk about atm) I wonder if the "creative differences" were Tim wanting to go more Deathcore (Tim has done many guest spots for Deathcore bands, has more of a Deathcore vocal style now) and Phil was like, "absolutely not, I don't go in for these Deathcore shenanigans, I've built my life on metalcore and that's what i play"
it broke my heart to see what happened to tim years ago but as time went on i couldn't care less. im glad the original members got out and members like Josh are getting the opportunity that theyve been getting
Actually the rumors were floating when the first ir second member left. The rumor was started on reddit and was floating around online of an abusive relationship which was proven to be false and the original redit thread was deleted.
Ken and Nick specifically left Unearth because they thought they could jump ship to AILD to get more money. So it was nice to see it immediately blow up inntheir faces. I also loved that the day this news broke Unearth dropped a new EP that was killer
Thank you!! I absolutely adore Unearth and was crushed to lose a drummer like Nick! Ken was always a drama queen, so I was indifferent to his departure. Unearth is just nose to the grindstone keep pushing forward dudes....what it's all about!!
@@johnblackrose Please reread what I wrote and then reevaluate the comment you left. Hint: It starts with an "i" and ends with a "y." Secondly, taking a plea deal isn't "taking responsibility." He wanted to get out of taking full responsibility by pleading down.
I saw As I Lay Dying live in FL, c. 2004 when they were touring with Killswitch Engage and In Flames. You're definitely spot on that they were one of the OG bands. I never became a huge fan but crazy to see where they are now.
I'm mostly curious about the supporting act Left To Suffer dropping off this planned tour, even before any of this with the AILD band members happened. There was no statement at all issued in regards to them dropping off, so I wonder if there is some kind of connection to all that followed and maybe if that event perhaps could have spawned some alleged rumors that Tim now attempts to blame it all on? Anyway, I was very much looking forward to see Left To Suffer come to Europe, all though now I'm also relieved that I after all didn't have to support someone like Tim in order to do so, but I hope Left To Suffer will find another way to come over here soon.
He tried to end his ex, the fact he even had those former members join at some point is the wild part to me. You mean the guy willing to have someone wacked doesn't make for the best environment? Wow, the surprise I feel is massive /s. I don't know what to think of the guys that joined Tim in the first place. I sure hope that when Ian Watkins is released he doesn't get to go back to making music again. What Tim did was actually less bad, but I still don't understand how he's back to making music in a band. As a solo project I'd understand. Glad they left, sus they even joined to now leave.
It's MINDBLOWING how Tim refers to Ken, Nick and Ryan as "touring members", but I guess Tim is furious about them and Phil leaving. Of course he has to deflect, gaslight and shift the blame for what happened on to someone else. In his mind, I bet he feels that his actions were justified. Phil was probably the one holding ASLD together, and when he left Ken, Nick and Ryan had had enough. I'm sure Tim will continue on, but if his behaviour persists (and I'm sure it will) this cycle will only repeat itself again and again. I mourn the death of AILD, but I'll always be grateful for the work and the passion they put in all of their music. Thank you guys - I'll miss you. ❤️
Dying Fetus went through similar drama back in the early 2000s that led to Kevin Tally and the rest of the band departing. They never explained what happened.
As I Lay Hiring A Hitman ^^ More seriously, I think convicts deserve reinsertion into society. But I suspect other band members were being harrassed by people not satisfied with the sentence Tim got.
This whole situation is fucked. Something is obviously going on with Tim. Just by the way he's been writing on social media he doesn't seem okay. Btw Tank you make these videos feel like I'm just hanging out with one of the crew. Thanks for the quality entertainment as always 🤘
this is honestly super sad cuz i rly enjoyed their music and until now i havent rly done any research on the band so i wasnt aware of all the shit that already hapopened lmao.
@@TankTheTechI meant from a respect level. Let’s say I join AILD for a 2 year tour, then tryout out for another band. Will they be open to it because of my playing technicality? Or will they say HARD PASS because I was affiliated with Tim?
I think it would career boost. You would have to be a top notch musician, and being in the band shows that you can take a lot drama and being treated like shit. What band wouldn't want a member like that?
Im still 100 percent thinking this is business related issues. Keep in mind phil was the final member who had ownership with tim. Since they didnt see eye to eye now i think its just them being in different ideas as "as i lay dying". Tim seems like a face of AILD and has full stakes out of the og members and what he says goes i think. That finally broke
He will find a new band, even though all this shit is happening nobody can deny Tim is very talented when it comes to writing music. I will still be checking out the album for sure.
i hope one day we will actually know what happened. these guys were willing to stand with a murderer, something big HAD to have happened for everyone to leave at once. also i completely agree with you how mental and worrying it is to see so many men "understanding" tim and what he did. i think it just shows how COMMON it is for men to be violent deep down and willing to hurt a woman if a situation "calls for it". being a woman is f*cking scary.
IMO it's probably about financial compensation at the end of the day., The most recent batch of members were the recording artists on the new album and Tim probably wanted to pigeonhole them as work for hire live musicians, limiting their earning potential on album sales. Who knows. It'll all come out in time. Also, dude you literally said there are no rumors @05:15 then follow up @07:50 with other musicians in the industry dropped rumors on you. But nobody was talking rumors. C'mon guy if you know people in the industry, there was talk way before public posts lol
I'm conflicted on this entire thing. Been a fan of AILD since 2008 when I first heard them. Saw them tour right before Tim went to prison and for their first tour after he got out. But now the band is falling apart for the second time since reforming. Their music got me through a lot of hard times, including my own court cases. Even though I made massive mistakes during my time drinking, I never wanted anyone to get hurt, and thankfully, no one did (at least physically..). That's where I'm conflicted. In my case there's the "what could have been" just like Tim's case.. except I never intentionally tried to hurt anyone, but I still made the choices that led up to those "could haves." Love the music, hate the drama. It's too confusing
@TankTheTech yeah. My conflict lies in the fact that I put other people in danger during my time drinking, and I got lucky to have not physically hurt anyone. He tried to actually hurt someone. I'm not sure if I can consider the nature of the crime similar. Anyway, thanks for the update on this
Were fans honestly expecting him to go into some long explanation detailing every argument and disagreement? I think most people have lived long enough and been in enough toxic relationships/business ventures to understand what happened. I don't know Tim or Phil personally but can imagine what happened when tempers flared and egos were bruised. Add in the complications of life, performing and having differing and competing visions for the band it probably got pretty bad. They're men. When it comes down to it all I really care about is the music. I think this "controversy" has been talked about too much already.
He’s gonna have a new lineup quick. And none of those people are gonna have the experience or clout to deal with Tim, and whatever he’s doing that’s making everyone run from him
If someone leaves a band over rumors like this, it's because it's about something they already expect from the person, however decide to not taken action until something actually happened. An Example: You're anti drugs, so much so, that you instantly quit, if someone from the band uses. Recently someone from the band recently seemed to on koke regularly. You subconsciously already know they are using, however you still hold out on quitting, not being certain they are (even tho you "know" it to be true). Now someone tells you they used with your band member, so you just quit without talking to them.
I've been in this same situation before, twice, and when I called out Virginia Beach bands - what happened? Well, the entire scene ganged up against me. Some scenes just aren't worth it
He's gonna have no problem finding new bandmembers. He'll have serious trouble finding ones that will work with him long term, especially if he's using.
Hey guys. I’m really bummed out to announce this, but I am leaving As I Lay Dying. I will be leaving the music industry behind and will be entering the culinary industry specializing in premium hot dogs.
Tim's parents and family members are big time lawyers which is part of why his sentence was short. I don't doubt that he is hitting everyone with legal jargon and papers. We may never know what happened.
People will always want to join. Just look at all the older bands with one member left and People still join and record and tour. For example; Gene and Paul in Kiss, Blackie Lawless, Neal Scheon with Journey. The Ratt situation. Dokken. Dave Mustaine with megadeth. The list goes on
The band Flaw has had 26 previous members, and the only constant member is the leader singer, and they've been nobody's for 20 years. So yeah Tim refreshing his line up is not far fetched at all
I may have posted something similar on this page before so I apologize. But I 100% believe SOME kind of confrontation happened between Tim and his wife. It is simply hard to believe that Phil and the rest of the band left because of a rumor no one else outside of that circle and the industry knew about. His comments under that post didn't help any.
Geez....... Why did my mind do that... I was trying to think "Tank thetech is a pretty good channel" And it threw "Tim the tank engine" into my mind instead.... Why... What...
It's interesting to read TLs statement. Seems like he's saying "we had irreconcilable personal differences because we had creative differences in that i wanted to sideline him to being a hired gun and do all the songwriting because i want all the money, which caused us to have financial interest differences. And I'm admitting this because i wanted to stay strong to MY vision, which is MY vision and messiah complex, i started yhis band so fk that guy and fk the other three. Just love me anyway, my band is the best ever. Oh and btw I'm totally sane and rational! Now where did i leave that fuel can?"

Love your videos Tank. Big fan. Been watching your stuff for many years and always agree with you on these kinds of matters for the most part, but I respectfully disagree with this one. In many instances, it is a matter of separating the art, from the artist. There are many, many, MANY bands, videogames, movies, physical art (drawings, paintings, etc.), tattoos, that I absolutely love to death and think of fondly, yet I highly dislike the people that created those specific pieces of art. If we enjoyed ONLY the art from people who we like, that would be a far shorter list than many of us realize. Do I agree with Tim's actions? Definitely not. Do I like Tim? Definitely not. Do I believe that he is the cause of all these issues with AILD? 100% yes. But, I enjoy the music of AILD, so I will keep listening. I listen to music for the music, not to judge someone's character. If people choose to not support Tim anymore, that's totally their call, but separating art from the artist is something that should not be overlooked in my opinion. Again, love the vids man, and respect and appreciate your take in all this, along with your dedication to the craft. Cheers 👍

The whole situation is still wild. I don't think I'd want to work with someone who tried to put a hit out on their wife. Good luck to all the folks looking to join his band I guess. 😬

They obviously singed NDA. Band members statements we're very passive aggressive, this posts we're enough to bury Tim in very safe way.

@@HolliedayRaine-of4sh He tried to kill someone...
Frail Words Accepted
As someone who was extremely hardcore about AILD, I wanted to give it a chance to see if the ship could be righted, but this has me completely out on it. It is definitely obvious that Tim still has some stuff that needs professional help. I will try to keep up with what the former band members do from here, and really hope they shed some light on this to help keep other people from being caught in the cycle.
He's a sociopath. Professional help won't help. Therapy just makes them better at manipulating people. Which he's already pretty good at.
It’s crazy how I’m so into the drama of a band I don’t even listen to
I just want to see the downfall, but for some reason, people still support Tim.
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Tank makes a video saying "I'm also leaving As I Lay Dying". Like, AILD might as well be the Wu-Tang of the metalcore scene. Am I in AILD? Should I leave if I find out it's a yes?
No joke, it'd be an all time troll. I'd almost be willing to forgive him if he made an "I quit too" announcement... Almost... But not really.
Wu-Tang started with 8 members, and after ODB passed, they brought in Cappadonna.
That's 1 member change since 1993.
Please don't compare this s**tshow to the Wu.
@@TankTheTech okay since you said it yourself, now you're in As I Lay Dying.
Deron Miller was the ex-member of the band CKY, right?
@@PorpiangWriter Yep
He left them for more-or-less their direct rival but the subgenre was dying anyway so now he's a photographer despite still being on Pearl's featured drummers list without having played a show since before COVID lmao
It also genuinely seems like it's a metal/rock issue (more prevalent at least).
I joined AILD. Quit later that day. TOTALLY wasn't cause of Tim, I'm super seriously

Im gonna go ahead and announce that im leaving as i lay dying just in case i didn't know i was a member

But that's my judgement, not yours.)
But there is no way in hell that this isn't Tim's fault.
A great plot twist would be:
Ov Sulfur disbands, the band becomes the new AILD line up, Ricky Hoover joins the ex line up around Phil, Ken and Nick and they call themselves "Through Storms Ahead" and play As I Lay Dying songs. Happened to Morbid Angel, where half of the band continued as I Am Morbid, while Trey Azaghtoth tries to keep a line up around him and Steve Tucker.
Similar situation with Venom and Venom Inc., as well.
To be fair Ilum was a straight shitshow of an album and it's very obvious that was all David Vincents baby. He tried to put techno/trance sounds in the band in the nineties which was when he got fired the first time. He just eventually succeeded.
@@jackcoleman1784Currently I Am Morbid is the better Morbid Angel, because they can actually play live…

The difference between Breaking Benjamin and AILD is that BB nearly broke up because their previous members okayed a release with their label before okaying it with Ben beforehand and he was rightfully mad. AILD almost broke up (and kinda did) because Tim tried to kill his wife
This shines a light on how a lot of people view a band as just their singer or vocalist.

@@ElectromagneDikk It was a pretty wild show. KsE was amazing. Was in the House of Blues down in Orlando/Kissimee area
There was probably nobody still left in the band's camp to proofread the message 😂
Dying Fetus went through similar drama back in the early 2000s that led to Kevin Tally and the rest of the band departing. They never explained what happened.

Neither. I'd say more like a stepping stone for someone that wants to tour.

While I never heard of 99% of these bands I’m still interested in these stories 😅
I agree this is probably what it was about.
Hey, I totally get you. I was REALLY into AILD in the early to mid 2000's and their music meant a lot to me as well.
@TankTheTech yeah. My conflict lies in the fact that I put other people in danger during my time drinking, and I got lucky to have not physically hurt anyone. He tried to actually hurt someone. I'm not sure if I can consider the nature of the crime similar. Anyway, thanks for the update on this
Forget As I Lay Dying at this point! Shadows Fall is coming back, I'd rather go there. Thanks!
Waiting on the new lineup Tim!
aild was my favorite band. I miss jordans drumming so much. I literally dont listen to them because I dont want tim to make money form me. fuck tim
He’s gonna have a new lineup quick. And none of those people are gonna have the experience or clout to deal with Tim, and whatever he’s doing that’s making everyone run from him
Will they have the experience to write music?
New band name: As I Lay Gaslighting
Jamming Shaped by Fire(d) right now. The riffs really hit, man.
Hey guys. I’m really bummed out to announce this, but I am leaving As I Lay Dying. I will be leaving the music industry behind and will be entering the culinary industry specializing in premium hot dogs.
😢
Tim's parents and family members are big time lawyers which is part of why his sentence was short. I don't doubt that he is hitting everyone with legal jargon and papers. We may never know what happened.
People will always want to join. Just look at all the older bands with one member left and People still join and record and tour. For example; Gene and Paul in Kiss, Blackie Lawless, Neal Scheon with Journey. The Ratt situation. Dokken. Dave Mustaine with megadeth. The list goes on
As I Leave the Band
The band Flaw has had 26 previous members, and the only constant member is the leader singer, and they've been nobody's for 20 years. So yeah Tim refreshing his line up is not far fetched at all
Tim needs to learn what a solo project is vs what a group project is. I learned that one in preschool but i guess we all learn at our own paces
I was trying to think "Tank thetech is a pretty good channel"
And it threw "Tim the tank engine" into my mind instead....
Why...
Well F... me. Here i got my answer, as to "who in their right mind would want to work with him again?". You were right about that Tank.
Tim: "I'm about perseverance"
Tim: [failed at keeping any semblance of an interpersonal relationship, while also failing at terminating these relationships]
There was also rumours of Tim getting them whacked for wanting to leave which is BS they obviously felt unsafe from past situations
15:50 military?
Bad tourig contracts. Statements were tactically overblown for upcoming lawsuits.
Cheers 👍
As i lay crying.
Oh man, now I really wanna know what happened. They did a meeting and greet alongside Shadow of Intent (I went through the line for them and Ken). Phil and Tim were sitting at complete opposite ends of the table. That was September 22nd @ NEMHF
What has me heated is all of the TH-camrs making the situation more toxic
The only band personifies their own name. Haha! I think either the guys from the camp bands like ovsulfur, or camp of Austriandeathmachine or from the tattoo buff dude deathcore influencer circle that might join AsILaydying. Tim seem really active in those area.
